Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (9 Viewers)

So I did figure out a little "secret" for getting everyone to be loyal in Mass Effect 2:

The trick is to be about half and half Paragon/Renegade. If you have enough Paragon score, you can mediate the Legion/Talli dispute. If you have enough Renegade, you can resolve the Miranda/Jack spat.

*Mordin dies if he doesn't either lead the team back or stay with you. Grrrr..
Unfortunately, I still had a character (*see spoiler tag) die on the final mission. So now I have to do that...again. There should be more save points on the final assault part.
I think you can handle both those conflicts with a high renegade or a high paragon score. I did both with my paragon character. I sided with Miranda because of her ###, which got Jack mad at me, but once my paragon score got high enough I was able to talk to her and make her loyal again.

Oh, and I got through the final mission with no casualties on my first playthrough.
But once you run out of missions, there's no way to increase your paragon/renegade rating.

M$ is seriously messed up. I bought an extended service contract. I am on the phone with them and they not only have my serial number 360 registered to someone else, but also have no record of my Service Contract Number. :P
Have you had the RROD before and sent it in? They usually send a completely different unit back that they've already fixed (although they are supposed to keep track of that.)
Yeah, I had sent one in in 2009 I guess, though I really don't remember it. I am probably gonna drop the $299 on the holiday bundles that are still around and deal with it. We have a Kinect.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but here's the new Elder Scrolls V trailer - with gameplay.

I can't wait.
As a general rule I never buy a game early. I always wait for it to come way down in price.Elder Scrolls V may break that rule. Blending the best of Fallout and Oblivion just sounds heavenly!

Thanks for the clip

I agree, esp. since I'm so backlogged w/ games. However, Skyrim & LA Noire may break that cycle for me as well...esp. LA Noire. Looks like my wife would enjoy playing along w/ me and helping me w/ the detective work. :goodposting:

Dead Space 2 is ####in amazing. Ive never been so scared ####less playing a game in my entire life. Much scarier than the first one.

I'm starting to get really ticked off with Killzone 3. It's fun when it's working, but this game was obviously rushed to market and released in an unfinished state. A few of the lowlights:

The map rotation is messed up. You get stuck on one map in particular (Saluman Market) over and over again.

Horrible matchmaking. When I manage to get in a game that isn't Saluman Market, it's usually something like 6-3 or 9-4 or some other semi-empty and unbalanced population.

Frequent freezes. Just last night I had the game freeze three times, two of which required a hard restart. This game has already frozen more in one week than Fallout: New Vegas ever did, and that game was probably the glitchiest thing I've ever played. Until now.

Connection issues. The servers are less tempremental than they were in the open beta, but disconnections are still unacceptably common.

Hit detection and lag. A couple of nights ago, I was watching my son play. He came up behind some guy and sprayed 50-60 LMG rounds into the guy's back with no effect at all. The guy then turned around and one-shotted my son. I thought it was pretty funny. I've encountered quite a few less-obvious istances where I am 100% sure I scored a headshot, but it didn't register for some reason.

Now that we're a week removed from launch, I feel entitled to be irritated by this stuff.

Just going to start up Fallout 3 since I have ME2 all finished. Still working with BFBC2 as always. Will work in Bioshock and Bioshock 2 afterwards.

Enjoy!! Fallout 3 is a fabulous game. I think I got well over 250 hours out of the game. Remember that the fun of the game is not in the main quest but in the side quests.Do you have the GOTY edition? Some of the DLCs are a lot of fun.

Nah, just the vanilla. Got it via Goozex forever ago. I am not looking for that much time. Just gotta fill time between now and BF3/The Old Republic/Diablo 3.

sweet. Enjoy. If you decide to be a villain, be careful. I mistakenly killed a guy I needed for a quest.

You're not the only one. There's only one day I've been able to get into a Warzone game. I am able to get into Operations matches, so I'm only playing that and its 3 maps. Pretty crappy service for a new game. Once in an Operations match, the gameplay works pretty well, but it's 5-10 minutes of gameplay and then 3-5 minutes of delay between matches.

I'm not too happy with this game either.

Aside - It only took me 3 days to figure out how to active a sentry beacon with tactician. stupid thing.

please tell me one of you has purchased and loves Two Worlds II. Sorta liked the first one, but the choppy frame rate made it unplayable. 2 looks simply amazing and I hope it's improved.

ETA - Just watched a few video reviews on YT. Seems like a good wait and buy. These RPG's tend to drop in price fairly quick. I bet it can be had for $30 within a month or two since the first one did so poorly.

The Monsters look incredible. Looks like my kind of RPG, despite a few hiccups.

I read up a bunch on this game and the consensus seems the same across the board: Much better than the first game which was a near disaster but this game still has lots of issues.Like you I will simply wait for the inevitable price drop and maybe give it a shot.

I just finished it (Xbox 360). I loved it. Well worth your time if you like good RPG's.Nice combat, good character development/etc. The only complaint I have in the game is the loot: it's all prettymuch generic loot - you "make" items better by forging/upgrading them w/ crystals. But there's no finding that one-of-a-kind magic blade that does x and y.

This is good to hear (outside of the loot). How many hours did you get out of the game? How was the online play? Do you just get paired up with anyone who is online at that time for the quest or do you have to do it with a friend?

I didn't play online at all, so I can't comment there. I got about 30 hours out of it. But I don't think I finished everything I could have.

I have a XBOX 360/Kinect bundle coming tomorrow. Not really into the kinect thing at the moment, just got a good deal. Im looking to sale the kinect with kinect adventures if anyone is interested or I may be willing to trade it for a PSP 3000 if in great condition with a game or two. Send a PM if interested.

I just rented this via my free game coupon from Blockbuster. I'll give a review later this weekend after spending some time with it as well.

Just picked up Alan Wake for about $25. On chapter two, but not sure how far I'll go. I really like the story, but the (often frustrating) combat is already starting to feel really repetative. So far, I feel like this game would have been twice as good with half the enemies.

play on Nightmare mode. Yes, even if it's your first playthrough.

I felt the same way. I thought the combat brought the game down from being a great title to being in the just get it over with category. I actually wished that there was an option to just read all dialog and and watch the cutscenes like a book/movie without any gameplay at all.

Finally getting around to Halo: Reach. Haven't played multiplayer yet, but the single player campaign is the best of the series IMO. I've been pleasantly surprised after feeling somewhat disappointed with Halo 3.

30 hours seems so low for an RPG. Hopefully there is more to this game than just a main quest.

Oh quick question, as a general rule:

For big releases that have various 'exclusive' content if you pre-order from Amazon.com, Gamestop, Walmart, etc...if you pre-order it from one of those places to get that specific exclusive content, are all the other things available, down the road, via DLC or whatnot?

For instance, if you pre-order LA Noire from Gamestop, you get an exclusive case file. But the other places that you can pre-order have outfits that give bonuses etc. Can you get those outfits down the road via DLC or something?

I just got a closed Beta invite for Darkspore. RPG game based on the Spore character creation engine. Installing now.
So Foos what's up with playing all of 12 minutes of BFBC2 and never returning?
I learned that I suck hard. I'm worse than cannon fodder, I was shooting at my own team. :bag:
No excuse. Everyone sucks at first. You have to play through at least rank 10 to get in the groove.

Truth. There are some games that I still suck it up. Some games that I'll be in the top 5. When you start a game, you just need to play to have fun and get into the groove. You can't be great at first.

All the blockbuster locations around here are closing so I've hit a couple of them for cheap games.

I just got Dante's Inferno for $13 -- I finished it in about 3 days. I liked it quite a bit. I remember seeing trailers for it when it was coming out, then heard nothing about it and forgot all about it until I saw it again this week.

Also got the Tony Hawk game (not too interested, but at $6, why the hell not) and Far Cry 2 which I heard was decent.

Jesus H. Christ this was horrid. The graphics are wretched, there are an immense amount of issues re: collision detection. I just could not get into it due to those two things. Now, if I got a game that was released years ago, I'd know that going in and wouldn't have high expectations on the graphics aspect, but for a new game?!?! Inexcusable.Totally could not get into this game at all. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Are you sure you didn't play Two Worlds, not Two Worlds II? Because the graphics are well done in this game, the combat is solid, and the story is decent. Nothing ground breaking but it is a very solid action rpg game.

So, I needed to pop ME2 in last night to make sure it worked so I could give feedback on goozex. Next thing I know it's 1:30 AM and I had been playing for 3 hours. :bag:

I'm loving it so far. Love all the changes they made to combat.

Oof. That sounds just like the reviews for Two Worlds. I had read they fixed many of the issues in the first game. This is very disappointing to hear.

I recently finished Metal Gear 4. That ending must've taken an hour and half to play out.

I'm playing through a 2nd time, trying to go unseen the whole way.

Dragon Age 2 just came out today. That should just about kill any spare time I'll have for the forseeable future.
