Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (5 Viewers)

You guys ever get stuck at a particular part in a game and it’s kind of tedious and you’ve had to replay a few times so you dread getting through it so you just don’t play the game? I’m still stuck at the wedding in kingdom come deliverance too. I was enjoying the game so much and I know I just have to get past the part and I’ll have fun again, but I just can’t bear to go through it. I don’t know what it is.

Currently playing a few Indie games on my PC.

Kenshi - open world sandbox death simulator with slavery resource management robotic limbs. It’s brutal. Bought this couple years ago, but the learning curve is pretty steep. If you give it a try, I highly recommend slowing down the camera movement.

Project Zomboid - I am an absolute sucker for games that look like this. The over the top isometric view and hyper detailed environments scratch an itch. I’m not a big zombie apocalypse guy, but so far so good. You start off in a town that has electricity and running water for two weeks and then you’re on your own. You try to survive as long as you can and when you die, your respawn as a new character, but the world is just as you left it. If you can find your dead body, that’s now a zombie and manage to kill it - You can get all your items back off of your past life.

Seems every Star Wars game has a platforming section or two that I dislike. One must time a 12 button sequence or you don't get through - or a direction/angle of a jump mid triple jump stupid type stuff.

I am a big project zomboid fan, I have recommended it and don't starve together a few times in this thread.

Don't starve together is an order of magnitude easier if you want the same game play and you only want a difficult game, not a brutally difficult game.

I might be tied for the number one soul’s fan on this board, but even I have to start from scratch if I put the game down for too long.

Top five series for me though.

I like it when it hurts.

I didn’t really enjoy don’t starve. I’d like to give it another shot however, I can never get my one gaming buddy (who likes those types of games) to play it.

Have you tried Kenshi?

Terrible level, and it feels like it never ends. But it eventually does and you can get back to what you like. But yea, it's almost like a wasted evening of gaming.

Nightmare levels in the original Max Payne. Revolutionary, creepy and immersive, amazing story... Throw your controller at the screen in frustration controls requiring exacting levels of perfection on timing your jumps or getting lost navigating with no map or directions

Looking for recs on Steam games. Preference to city builders, adventure/fantasy, and scifi. No multiplayer games.

Been playing a ton of Schedule 1 lately. One thing I am coming to realize is that I don't like buying pre-release games like this. The mechanics are solid, but the story is half built. I'll probably revisit it once it is complete...if it ever is.

Also have a ton of time into RimWorld. Such an epic game.

Kenshi looks pretty good, I will need to remember that game for when i am looking for a new game to play in a few months. I have never heard of it before.

finally got into Borderlands 4 last night for a couple of hours. some new mechanics that took a minute to get used to, but overall it feels pretty good. maps could use work IMO, but maybe i just need to tweak my settings.

I'm enjoying the BL4 gameplay a lot, but the UI is really rough and the game doesn't do a good job explaining a lot of the build mechanics. I know its an RPG and there are people that REALLY dig into the nuts and bolts of their buildings to maximize every single ounce of damage and fine tune the impact of every ability, but for a guy mostly just looking to shoot stuff, its a bit overwhelming right now. And honestly.....until I get to end game and my guns aren't being replaced every 2-3 levels, I'm not SUPER worried about it.

The compass/mini-map isn't great (I find myself constantly having to drop into the main map screen to figure out where I'm going) and combing through your inventory to compare gear (and trash the bad stuff) isn't as intuitive as I remember with BL2.

Having a lot of fun. Beat my first vault monster yesterday which was pretty wild. Looking forward to figuring more stuff out as I get further into the game.

I've been into it a bit also. The only real complaint I have is that sometimes (but not every time) after I fast travel, my inventory shows as empty. Which really sucks when the reason I've fast traveled is to sell/bank.

I stopped playing the Red Dead zombie dlc because I refused to kill Big Foot.

Had this happen also, and then when i did have my inventory back all of the images showing what it was were gone. Just a blank tile for every slot. Googling said it could be a fish(?) grenade or legendary axe that screws up your inventory. I sold the axe from my bank and everything went back to normal..

i've only seen one Legendary through LVL 14. hoping that changes soon.

I've only gotten 1 through 19.

Apparently they lowered the drop rate alot from bl3. Hopefully there will be more in the end game

yeah, BL3 drops were a bit ridiculous

i almost missed the one i did get: it wasn't indicated on the combat map and i was just searching around and saw the orange glow behind a barrel. wouldn't have noticed it if i had been going in the other direction. hopefully it would have found its way to the lost-loot machine anyway.

Farming Splashzone for 10 minutes or so gave a few of them. Two of them (a shotgun and shield) were pretty nice upgrades for me.

It is.

Can’t stop playing Project Zomboid. Still haven’t driven a car. I have a full container of gas and I found a set of keys but haven’t managed to combine all of them without dying. Helicopter came today- that was annoying

I would kill for a medieval game made with this engine.
