Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (5 Viewers)

What exactly does that mean as far as that game goes? Fake names and teams basically?
I think they get to keep the teams but not the player names.
They never had the player names.
Shows how long its been since I've played an NCAA game, Sega Saturn I never missed you :bag: . Thought for sure by now they had made some sort of agreement, but I suppose that would require them to actually pay the players.
Yep. And that's where the whole NCAA lawsuit comes into play.

Great flash sales going atm:

Terraria $2.49 - A really fun sandboxy action platformer where you collect resources and slay monsters.
Sleeping Dogs $6.24 - You play a deep cover cop who infiltrated a triad gang in Hong Kong, plays very much like GTA not as much open world stuff to do but its still a large beautiful game.
Max Payne 3 $9.99 - Haven't played it myself, ive heard a lot of mixed things about this game.
Dark Souls $7.49 - One of the best games ever and definitely up there in combat oriented games.

FTL $2.49 - Been getting a lot of attention this sale, which isn't a bad thing, space combat roguelike with many different ships to unlock that completely change the flow of the game.

The sale will likely end on the 22nd so we only have a few days left.

I got Terraria about a year ago, but I just can't figure it out. I heard they added a tutorial for the XBLA version of the game. The PC game needed one too. If they added it, I don't know, because I uninstalled it and haven't felt like trying again. Only game I've ever regretted getting during a Steam sale.

DPRugby was a great guy here. I am going to assume he was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia/Lymphoma. Son of a ...

I didn't buy a PS3 early but he helped convince me that the PS3 is the way to go. This is a bummer.

It was announced today that EA Sports will continue with their college football franchise without the NCAA license. They extended their license with the CLC for another 3 years. With the CLC deal, they will still be able to use all teams, conferences and bowls. The NCAA license sounds like it was pretty worthless on its own, so there probably won't be a dip in sales.
Good to hear. I thought the whole franchise was kaput after the other announcement.

I have some bad news to share. DPRugby, who you may remember did the video game giveaway draft a few years back died last week. I guess he found out he had cancer last December and it was pretty rare and advanced. Really sucks as he was a very good guy and obviously a generous one as well.

Oh man, how terrible. My prayers and thoughts are with his family. He was a really great guy.

Me: Hey cancer. Knock, knock.

Cancer: Who's there.

Me: #### you. Stop killing people. :sadbanana:

I got some of those games that DPRugby sent out. Thanks bro, wherever you are.

I wonder if they'll go back to calling it College Football USA. That was the title back in the mid-90's before they got the NCAA license. I could also see them calling it BCS Football too, but I wish they'd put the FCS teams and conferences in the game again.

Automated subway system begins the second phase of construction.
My seven year olds are amazed at my track system that goes for 15 mins without stopping. From the slopes of Mount North to the beaches of Southern Sky Base. I know. Original names, but what are you going to do?
Is this in creative mode? We haven't found eough gold ever to make a long track system that functions going up and down hills.

We are pretty much tapped out in the world that you joined us in now. My roommate made a lava house in a lake and I made a giant glass tree house with some brick top and massive lava chandelier.

Lol...ah, no. I have some very large mines going on. There is a trick that you go down to base rock and mine there. There's more risk of lava, but the percentage of gold, diamonds, redstone are all increased at that level.

Most of my track will go through large mountains rather than go over them. On the flat lands, it is an elevated platform to prevent anyone from getting on the track.

Ive got about 8 different projects going at once. I break up the monotony by switching back and fourth between them. I'll mine until I run out of pickaxes then while im dumping that stuff ill swing by my furnaces to smelt some things, organize them, then head over to my tree farm, re-seed, then go build some things or manipulate the landscape for future projects and roads.

Of course Im always getting side tracked and now even my mine has a glass floor looking down on a waterfall and lava....fall.

Not sure. I go all the way down until I can't go any further down and start there. Mine out a room and add a crafting table and a couple of chests. I bring down two diamond pick axes and don't come back up until they are done. Once the room is finished, I pick a direction and pick until I'm full of rock (and goodies). I usually do four blocks up in a single line. Once I've full, I go back and empty into the chests. I then go back to my vein and move over three blocks and dive in there. This way, you are not missing a line of blocks while digging.

I have six main bases in my world. I've only made one world. When I get bored in one spot, I explore for a while and create a new base. I then mine at the new place and connect the rail system to the new base. By then, I've specialized each base to something. One of my bases is simply dedicated to making books (sugar canes and cows). Another base, in the desert, is where I go to get glass.

Good times..

Don't start. Its a huge time sink that hooks you in. However, if you like building things and systems, you might enjoy it. Think of Legos on a global scale. Oh, and there are skeletons and zombies, of course..

Search youtube to see actual screens and setups if interested..

I got too many games waiting now to take on anything new. But maybe in the future.

Games that must be more fun than they sound: dark souls, mine craft.
Dark souls never hooked me. I don't get and don't care too.

Minecraft is the ultimate sandbox. There are no objectives and you can build anything your imagination can come up with. Fabulous game for all ages.

Missed the end of the steam sale and my summer finals :bs: , went to the ER with chest pains and shortness of breath, thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out several of my lymph nodes were swollen huge all my blood work is clean even did a bonemarrow biopsy also clean, they finally removed 3 big lymph nodes from my chest. My oncologist seems to be trying to scare the #### out of me. I swear he looked me straight in the eyes and said, it looks like lymphoma, no supporting labs or anything. I'm not even 25...

Just read this. Wow. RIP and condolences to his family. :(

All development towards Fez 2 has been ceased - the game has been cancelled.

I would just like to reiterate, I ####### hate Phil Fish and I'm glad that hes getting out of the industry, never played Fez for all I know it could be a great game but he is one of the most insufferable disrespectful developers ever and I'm joyed by his recent troubles.

Im sad for Fez fans, as they are missing out on a sequel to a game they like because the developer doesn't feel appreciated enough.

His avatar is of Andy Kaufman. I wonder if he's trying to play the bad guy in the same manner. As for Fez, what I've played so far is really good. Unfortunately, it hasn't won me over enough to finish it yet, but it's on my list to finish eventually.

I'm barely in to Dark Souls, and I'm not the type that enjoys dying a lot. But I am enjoying Dark Souls when I actually get the chance to play it. I will say, it is a mindset thing. When I tried Demon Souls, I hated it because I took dying personal and simply hated the concept. Now that I'm older, the dying doesn't bother me, and exploring and figuring out how to defeat the enemies is quite fun. Admittedly though, it is the one game where I will not hesitate for a moment to go to the Wiki for help.

wat. Fez fans couldn't be Fez fans if it wasn't for Phil Fish. No one should feel sorry for anyone because some dude doesn't want to make a game.

What are you confused about, he is ceasing development because he doesn't feel like the industry or the fans appreciate him enough. Some people were anticipating Fez 2 and those loyal fans will not get to ever play it. Up until he threw his most recent fit, the game was in development, he is in essence, taking his toys and going home because hes a big ####### baby.

I feel bad for any fan base that has to suffer through horrible devs, and as far as those go Phil is one of the worst. Talks so much #### on other indie devs, especially ones that are successful, talks so much #### on his on fans and other fan bases, hes a disgrace and im glad he wont be making any money off the people that previously supported him and he shat on.

He could be the biggest ######## of all time for all I know, I'm not on twitter so I know next to nothing about his existence, but I'm confused as to why you would feel sorry for a fanbase that wouldn't even exist if not for this dude. Why should he make another game if he doesn't want to just to make other people happy? His reasons for not wanting to make another game are irrelevant given he's the one who's facing all the potential costs that go with making another one.

I think it'd be selfish of the fanbase to be pissed at the guy for not wanting to make another game.

Because they are the people that actually care about the game and the license, Phil doesn't owe anyone anything, but if he did the first people in that line would be the people that actually supported his previous game. He announced the sequel at E3, not too long ago but it was still anticipated. The reason the game isn't being made, aside from the previously mentioned reasons is because he hates the industry. He has some valid views in regards to the trials indie developers have to deal with it, but at the end of the day he is killing his own license and his own fanbase because he wants out. He could sell the license, he could just hire someone to do his job, but hes doing neither of those things. He is literally becoming the thing he #####es about all the time.
