Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (4 Viewers)

Diablo 3 is awesome couch co-op fun. Also online is a blast to boot. Hack n Slash RPG at it's finest.
Good to hear. Is it easy to pick up?

Mindless entertainment. Skillz are optional.
I agree, very easy to pickup.

The in game explanation of the skills you have to choose between is pretty weak but if you want to read more about them you can just use a wikia.

Oh and make sure you get Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls (Ultimate Evil) if you have a choice. It adds a lot to the original Diablo 3.

So I needed a new tablet, and opted for the NVidia Shield, for its gaming capabilities and streaming via your NVidia card games on a PC. Got the controller, too. :nerd:

Got a PS4 to join the next gen of consoles and a few games.

Will be installing (FINALLY) my SLI GTX 970 video cards this weekend.

Just wanting to establish my :nerd: gaming cred. The proverbial dog peeing on the fire hydrant.

ended up getting a GTX 970 as well. Also ended up getting it for $55 off due to AMEX rewards (separate $25 and $30 coupons off newegg)

Shadows of Mordor thus far is my GOTY. Now mind you I have yet to pop in Dragon Age 3, Far Cry 4, The Evil Within, nor Alien Isolation or Destiny (all in the shrink wrap).

I can't stop playing this game. Such an amazing time. Love getting new skill's and runes. The Nemesis system is brilliant.

Thanks yall!

And will do on the expansion. That's good to know.

So, I'm the only one playing South Park: the stick of truth? Addicted...
I've seen youtube vids. The animation is exactly like the show. So it looks pretty good. I'd like to give it a try at some point.
I am two friends away from 100%. It's is a fantastic turn based rpg that competes with anything released in the 5 years imo. I'm not a huge South Park fan and the theme just adds to the fun but the mechanics still work great. They go way over the top at times but that is South Park so I live with it. A solid 8.5 out of 10 from me(most games I rate 5-7).
I am looking forward to this one a lot.
Loving it so far. Who cares about the game play, which seems solid so far, it's just freaking hilarious.

State of Decay reviews? I seem to remember some discussion of this a while back.
Just coming here to ask this. It's $5 on Steam now and has positive reviews, so I bought it. Good times ahead?

Searching helps... found a few posts:

Mentioned before but state of decay is well worth it. I have sunk hours into the game. It is kind of like the dream zombie game for me. Very GTAish I love the no load points aspect. You get a character killed and they are gone, time to get attached to someone else. Also when you are not playing your game is still going on. You load back up and someone may have died on a mission, you are down some supples and up other supplies. Sure there are some bugs but it is fun as hell
I don't get the perma death on this. Aren't there "saves" in the game that you can go back to or something, or does the game just really move forward with no way to save it?
There are saves in the game, but once you die there isn't a checkpoint to go back to before your death. There is no way to save the game during gameplay. Everything is auto-saves. And, truthfully, at first you don't like it....but it's really exactly how a zombie survival game should be. They absolutely nailed it.
This I lost Mya real early by driving my car into a gas storage and exploding. I almost wanted to restart from scratch because it auto saved after it happened. Everyone at home was sad and I had to get someone to try an find her belongings to booste morale back at home. Then I started to get attached to other players instead of her and it just added to the overall experience. Deaths are going to happen.
Playing state of decay right now and enjoying it quite a bit. It's can be a little tedious with fetch quests to build up supplies but making the max amount of outposts and facilities(med center, sleeping area, garden, etc.) is vital. One key thing is to not remove the supply crate(rucksack) from their cache or else you won't get the bonuses for having the outpost. Their is misinformation floating around that you can place the rucksacks on the ground anywhere and make a outpost for the benefits, but that is incorrect. Also I don't worry much about the constant #####ing back in home base because those are random missions that you can't make everyone happy, same with the "zed" hunts.

I have a solid three person rotation going that allows everyone to rest up in between runs although my Marcus got annihilated the first time I faced off against the special zombie that I have dubbed the fatty. He stood no chance on a certain quest mission when the fatty showed up and I was in a small closet with it blocking the doorway. To make it worse it was dark out in the game, it was 3AM here, I had surround sound headphone blasting, I was hopped up on coffee, and our cat wet nose bumped me on the leg right as the fatty surprised me. I yelped like a little ##### while tossing molatovs and firing shotgun shells into him as I frolicked about trying to escape the closet with zero stamina. He then tore me in half. Sad day.

So if you would be interested in a GTA style real time gameplay based in a zombie world, check out State of Decay. It's certainly worth the $20 imo.

Was going to wait and buy Diablo III...then it was 50% off today. So now I own it. Yay.
This game is 50% like every other day for some reason :)

I feel like we should start a diablo 3 thread as we could have a bunch of people playing soon.
I'd be in. Not to mention stories of my girlfriend in her first video game experience since "Dr. Mario with her parents" when she was a kid could be hilarious sometimes.

State of decay:

It starts up pretty good and it's not a bad game but for me it turns into a little bit more of a micro managing pain in the butt. You start off with about three people and then wander around the town soda open world finding car is running over zombies adding to your lips and companions. Your people can hold very much so you end up getting into a house finding some loot and it's logging back to your base rents and repeat and repeat. Then as things get a little tougher that's when it becomes an annoyance to me with constantly running back-and-forth to your base and fighting off hordes of monsters.

If I want to PCI probably avoid this and try some of the cooler steam games such as (I think it's called) DayZ.

DayZ is on my wish list, but I'm hesitant to take the plunge. It's only in Beta and seems destined to stay there forever. I heard it's buggy but fun and but after awhile becomes mired in the MMORPG curse of becoming a simple grind for silly aesthetic trophies, like suits, etc.

I have never been drunk, and so could not drunk post, but this is what I imagine it looks like.

Ah, that explains it. I started reading this thinking I'd see thoughts similar to my own (and, in the end, they were) but then quickly moved to "My god, the guy's had a stroke writing this."

I have been retired for too long and I can't even do the most basic math any more :(

Ok here is the question

* I have 4 minions

* I can choose a perk that gives me a 5th minion AND all minions do 50% more damage.

How much total damage increase will my group of minions get?

I came up with an 87.5% increase but that is likely wrong.

The 87.5% came from 25% increase from adding 1 minion and an additional 62.5% damage from all 5 doing 50% more.

Let's say they all did 1 damage. You'd have 4 right now.

Those 4 would do 6, and your extra one would do 1.5, for a total of 7.5

7.5/4 = 1.875

I'd say your math is fine.

Diablo update

* Played a ton of hours this week. For an almost completely mindless game, it keeps you engaged

* I put my first character to bed after getting to paragon level 49

* I am now concentrating on getting the platinum. I have the hard core trophies and the getting 6 characters to level 70 to finish. My second character quickly got to level 64. You really can level quickly in adventure mode.

* After I get the platinum, I will choose my best character and try to really crank up high in paragon levels.

* Legendary Gems are a fantastic addition to the game. Do no overlook these as they can make big changes in your character.

Sweet. If you (or anyone else) want to add me as a friend, my username is AndyLovesHisBge

Ivan, I keep sending you Diablo gifts :) . I am unsure why the game continues to target you instead of others who have or are currently playing.

Shadow of Mordor

Defeated 4 War Chiefs and then took out my first boss (Dark Hand of Sauron). This game is amazing fun. I have some revenge missions I need to do. I am going to complete everything in this game. Find every item, do every weapon mission (dagger, bow and sword). If you have not picked this game up for the PS4...do so.

It's crack.

I love the Evil Within! Thanks IK. I feel very nostalgic playing it as it reminds me a TON of RE4. Im in chapter 7. I have two small complaints

Everytime you die it takes at least 30 seconds to load. Thats annoying cuz of how often I die.

I really hate parts in video games where you have to run for your life. The bloody, long haired monster parts are annoying. They remind me of the parts in Dead Space when you had to fight that regenerator. Maybe just a pet peeve of mine though. I like exploring, fighting, etc

Between getting my son Lego Batman 3 and a Wii U with Super Mario, Mario Kart, & Super Smash Bros. I feel like a kid again. I also got him Disney Infinity. I definitely went way overboard. To the point where I even started returning some of the toys I got him.

I haven't played in months...but want to finally finish Red Dead and had a few hours yesterday. Ignored all side quests and took out Dutch. Now I'm back with my wife and kid, and I've done some events with the kid like herding cattle, hunting, etc. Kinda meh. I'm thinking either the Govt shows up and kills my family and I go Punisher on the entire old West, or this is the end of the game...kind of odd.

So should I keep playing or set it down?

Looking forward to Evil Within.
