Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (11 Viewers)

Was given a copy of Shadow of Mordor. Seems to play a lot like Assassins Creed or Arkham. Just barely got started. Looking forward to really getting into it a little later today.

I started the All-Star game in my first full season in the majors as a pitcher in RTTS. Here are my half season splits for my fastball tossin' lefty:

18 GP, 9-2, 132 IP, 199 Ks, 0.54 WHIP, 0.95 ERA, .117 vs LHH, .151 vs RHP.

This is all on a Braves team that is currently 38-51. I've pitched a no-hitter and a perfect game. Also no-hit the Giants for 8 IP, walked one guy in the ninth and got tagged with the loss when the reliever immediately game up an RBI double. 1-0 loss. I had to step away for a moment after that BS.

I've been requesting a trade all year long and the Braves have yet to find a suitable trade. Really want to go to the AL so I don't get yanked in the 8th for a PH and get tagged with a loss or no decision due to the ineptitude of this team.
That's awesome.

This might be obvious to some, but I just realized it this weekend. Once you finish the rookie showcase, you can actually request the team that drafts you. The firist couple of players I made I just entered the draft and was frustrated with the franchise I was drafted by. I realized you don't have to enter the draft blind and can just pick your team.

I have ADD for these players so I made handful of players so I can move from position to position. Since I realized I could pick my team, I'm making historic players and trying to recreate their success. Have Ted Williams and Mike Piazza (actually a 1B since catching is painfully tedious in this game) going so far and will add a couple more for variety.

Awesome game....One of my favorite non sports titles thus far on the PS4. Obtain Shadow Strike as soon as it is available.

Don't be afraid to run away early on in the game if you get mobbed by Orcs. It rally is a great game. The deaths are epic.

It seems pretty cool so far and I am hoping for a good story. I do feel bad though I have left my poor Dark Souls mage in the swamp for a while and I think he will remain waiting for a bit.

Oh and GoW3 is free for download this month with XBox gold. Is it worth it if I haven't played the other ones?
Like most MO focused games you really missed they heyday of fun MP. Now the only folks left playing are the uber elites and 3rd worlders.

Single player is solid but more of a grind then fun.

Think I'll skip it then the first one didn't really grab me but I was thinking maybe for free.

You should grab it anyway since it's free. And if you ever get an Xbox One, GOW3 is going to be backward compatible as well.

I have a solid backlog now. I have working games going for 3 different titles. I just don't really need another one that I probably won't play.

I'm super late to the party but FIFA 15 is a ton of fun. Been playing the FUT aspect and just started a career mode, even downloaded my face for the player and it looks pretty cool. I may pick 16 up when it releases.
I've been playing FIFA 14 FUT and liking it a lot. I'm thinking I'll probably get '16 too. XB1?
I'm on PC and PS4 (son got it for his bday). How active is the FUT 14 transfer market? If it stays active for a few years I may just stick with 15. I've heard 16 was revamped with next gen in mind so I may upgrade though.

You don't need to download it. Just purchase it and cancel the download. It's there for you whenever you want then but taking up no space.

I finished Wolfenstein The New Order yesterday on Normal. It was a great experience. I am playing the Old Blood which I heard clocks in at around 8 hours (it was 20 bucks) and takes place right before The New Order.

So far one of the best FPS I have ever played in terms of story, pacing, weapon perk system and the graphics were pretty awesome. Killing Nazi's was never more fun than on this game.

I will go back to it one day to get 100% completion etc. It really was a sleeper game for me.
Playing this now, I'm just beyond the prison. Apparently I missed the laser cutter upgrade but I don't want to replay the level for it. Hopefully not a critical miss. Fun game.

That thing becomes a major weapon for ya. I would replay it.

Nah, it is useful for cutting fences but almost useless as a weapon. The laserkraftwerk that you pick up in London Nautica is the one that carries you through to the end.

I disagree. I was able to use that as a nice weapon before I got a scope on it and then when I got the scope....holy crap. I was exploding Nazi's everywhere. And it is very useful to cut crates to get extra supplies, ammo etc.

Maybe I am wrong but didn't you need that laser cutter to perk up to the scope attachment?

He has laser cutter but missed the upgrade, which is no big deal because it's primary purpose is cutting fences which the upgrade doesn't help. Either way it's a low powered weapon, I used it a bit but the Laserkraftwerk is the one that turns into a major offensive weapon. That one has the scope which allows you to essentially liquefy enemies.

Anyone here play Payday 2 on the Xbox One? I am always looking for people to play with.

One of those games that is better with other people, and you really have to work together to complete missions.
Gamer Tag: We Goin Sizzler. My girlfriend and I love this game and am semi decent at it in sneak pulling framing frame entirely in sneak mode among many of the smaller stuff, but can do loud missions well also. I'm sort of away for games for the next 2 months but it will definitely be in the rotation after that.
My gamer tag is Gmanx23. I am going to add you.
Gmanx23 doesn't exist in gamer tags when I look...Gmanx12 does when I first typed it in wrong..?

For casuals the horde mode can be worth a download as a 5 person coop that is player vs monster in successive tougher waves. It's a good time especially on hard when you need strategies.

Correct, I have the cutter but not the upgrade. Hopefully the kraftwerk is a mandatory pickup otherwise I may have to look it up to make sure I don't miss it.

It's mandatory.

ETA: I would still look up the upgrade locations because you really want that one maxed out.

Snagged the $30 download of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on PS4. Pumped to play through the pre-sequel with the lady and then re-play Borderlands 2. Great deal.

now that I picked up my Fallout: New Vegas game again, I decided to do the "Dead Money" DLC. holy hell, what an ugly mess this is! does anyone actually enjoy this DLC?! you're basically going back and forth in a city maze, devoid of any interesting colors, short on resources, littered with stupid traps and many diverse ways to die. and I guess the only thing you really get out of this is a lot of money...which I've already got!

so now instead of trying to scavenge for anything cool, I'm going to try and just speed through this turd-colored nightmare and get back to the wasteland. Ed-E is waiting for me.
I stopped playing when I started that DLC. It really ruined NV for me.
I'm only halfway through it, but so far it may be the worst DLC I've ever played.
It's horrid. I fought my way through it just to be done. Not playing it ever again. It almost ruined NV for me.
Pretty much killed my game. I'm about 3/4 complete but low on health and ammo while starving and thirsty with no food in sight (im on hardcore mode).

That was two years ago. I've tried to gtfo of there a few times and eventually say F it.
well, I'm probably done with my FONV game. I finally got out of that ####### "villa" city and made it into the Sierra Madre casino, did a bunch of stuff and then got my head blown off due to one of those GD radios. only then did I realize that I forgot to save, and would have to go back to a save that's at least an hour back. so I promptly shut off the game and put it back in it's case. hasta la vista, FONV. we almost had it all.

My old PS3 is running out of space. I've deleted movies, old game files ,etc......I'm sure I missed it, but any easy way to add space?

I guess this is an argument for getting physical game discs rather than downloading the games. I got this same thing on Amazon Prime Day for ~$15 buying the actual disc. Regular price was ~$20. And that's new, not used.

Started playing "Remember Me" again. Began it last year but got side tracked and never came back to it till now.

The combat has a learning curve but it is very similar to Arkham. The story seems pretty intriguing so far. It has parkour similar to the Uncharted and TR series but climbing futuristic cities instead of tombs.

The interesting piece is the mind hacks. You enter someone's memory and have to recreate it to make them think they did something other than what happened. It's like a more interactive form of inception.

It didn't get very good reviews and it takes a bit to get into but this seems like a pretty awesome game so far. Anyone else played it?

Serves me right haha, literally my first digital purchase...ever. I had just remembered seeing the same thing at Gamestop a couple weeks ago for $40.

You're sure youre talking about the same thing, both games and all DLC, etc.? Great deal for you if so.

I'm starting to get concerned about my ps4. About 50% of the time i put in a disc it can't read it. Sometimes the disc is smudged up by my son's grubby little fingers and i clean it but sometimes i have to power down the ps4 and power it back up for it to work.

Yeah hard core, nightmare, whatever they call the hard mode, no thanks. Normal is challenging enough most of the time thanks.
Do they still have "can I play daddy" and "don't hurt me" as difficulty levels?
Also tell me a story and some other insulting names for easy mode. But as I said I tend to play normal mode, not easy mode, because I don't have anything to prove and I am here more for fun than trophies.

Forget it. I just googled it and apparently it's a bug in the firmware. Apparently it happens when you hit the eject button out of rest mode which i do all the time. Good to know.

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2015/07/08/disc-reading-bug-appears-in-ps4-firmware-2-55-but-has-a-simple-solution/
I have noticed this as well as soon as I updated a couple of weeks ago but it never seemed consistent. Now I know why :)

Thanks for the link, that explains it well.

I usually use the PS button on the controller to wake it, so I will just continue that.

I play all games on normal difficulty. I want to get a decent challenge but not drive myself crazy. Wolfenstein was plenty hard on "Bring Them On" difficulty. More than enough to give me almost 30 hours on that game.

I just started the New Blood.......it's awesome. Some new weapon wrinkles as well and the ability to toggle dual wielding weapons. Nice little touch.

I played The Last Of Us on normal first then replayed it on hard.....it was really really tough but a satisfying experience on hard as well. It really depends on the game for me. Far Cry 3 and 4 I play on normal. The game is so large....and plenty of different challenges....normal suits it just fine.

Try playing Alien Isolation on hard.....impossible. I played it on easy and it was extremely difficult.

Oops, you're right. I confused this with a different game (Infamous Second Son) I bought that was cheaper in disc rather than digital download. Borderlands was about the same price as what you bought it for.

I fully admit that I play a lot of games on easy or normal at best. It's rare when I want a game to be harder. I have enough stress and goals to reach in my life. I just want to race/shoot/kill/hunt/find/hit/pitch/run/throw...etc.

:goodposting: I think you and I have similar attitude re gaming. We should co-op sometime...if there are any good ones out there that is.

Well I really haven't done any online in forever. But I would certainly be up to get together and give it a try.
