Stuck where?Still stuck on arkham. I want to kill myself for playing this game. My nephew is coming in this week, so in true ringer style I'm just going to have him finish the game.

Yeah that one was the suck. I always kind of tried to go back to one spot and wait for him and then lead him back into the same trap over rinse and repeat.Driving the stupid bat mobile through some underground tunnel so the guy in the billion dollar machine (??) can be hit by bombs.Stuck where?Still stuck on arkham. I actually haven't played it in a week. Gave up.
Yea I've tried it all. My nephew is the Barry Bonds of video games so I'll just wait till he gets here.Yeah that one was the suck. I've beaten Demon Souls and both Dark Souls games. I'd say DS2 very closely resembles Demons souls. They have a very similar feel to them and even the first castle area reminds me of the main castle areas in demons souls.Started Dark Souls 2 about a week ago, but I haven't had much time to play so I haven't even gotten to the first boss yet. Having spent a lot of time with Bloodborne, there was a little adjustment getting back into the slower-paced sword-and-board combat style, but it didn't take long and the combat is every bit as satisfying as I remember from DeS and DS1. I decided to go with an all-out strength build which is a little different than what I normally do for a first run. My character currently doesn't have enough attunement to cast any spells, and I'm going to see if I can keep it that way for at least a while. Maybe some cleric spells or very basic pyromancy down the road.
The one thing I noticed about this game immediately though, is that even in the early going it steps firmly across the line that separates "hard" from "cheap." I've already encountered about a half a dozen spots in which I'm either mobbed by a bunch of guys all at once or ambushed by several guys from behind, neither of which occurred very often in the other titles. A couple of especially ridiculous encounters included passing through a little gate next to an NPC and then having five or six guys all jump me in a tiny little area (died nearly instantly) and having three guys spawn behind me somehow while I'm out on a very narrow pier, with no realistic way of fighting my way back without falling off. That's kind of bull#### design. I've beaten every other game in the series multiple times over, so I'm very used to the fact that you can't just rush into an area hoping for the best, that sometimes you have to lure guys away from the pack and pick them off in manageable numbers, etc. But these are encounters where there's literally no option but to just fight a whole mob all at once, and that's not what this combat system is designed to do.
This game is also already overdoing the "Hey look -- that seemingly dead body was actually just playing dead all along!" thing, but that's easy to deal with once you know to expect it.
Cheap and easy were the two big complaints. The big guy at From Soft was on Bloodborne when they were doing DS2 and he doesn't have much good to say about it. He was on 3 and promises a return to quality deaths.I've beaten Demon Souls and both Dark Souls games. I'd say DS2 very closely resembles Demons souls. They have a very similar feel to them and even the first castle area reminds me of the main castle areas in demons souls. It is a bit cheap early on, but I don't remember that being a problem as the game goes on. I honestly thought it was the easiest of the three games and after the first few hours to got exponentially easier for me.Started Dark Souls 2 about a week ago, but I haven't had much time to play so I haven't even gotten to the first boss yet. So this happened to me the other day. Easy enough to prevent this from happening but I was really freaking out for a bit. Only had my PS4 a month and was afraid the disc reader was done.Forget it. I just googled it and apparently it's a bug in the firmware. Apparently it happens when you hit the eject button out of rest mode which i do all the time. Good to know.

Start over and pick the team that drafts you. It's a video game, play for who you want.I have never been so affected in real life by a video game before - but the Show 15 has now seriously affected my demeanor and outlook on all things video game.
My AA stud starter who has been standing on top of the world in AA for the Red Sox organization is doing well. Undefeated. Awesome stuff. Unhittable. I've maastered already the pitching dynamic of the game so that I can under throw and over throw pitches and get them to break more than they should and miss in good spots. I'd say over 90% of my pitches do what I want them to do. I'm just a phenom.
In the middle of May game time I requested a trade for the 4th time. Not because my AA brothers aren't like family to me now. But because it's the Red Sox organization. I've been pitching well in spite of my prediciment. I loathe my organization and seriously will not be caught video-game dead in a Red Sox uniform. That is, until last night.
Another strong outing. I get through the 6th inning without incident. Batters can't hit me. The ump is just calling strikes because he is in awe of my stuff. I'm on the mound and in complete control of everything. Starting the 7th inning I strike out the first batter on 3 pitches. Over 94 on the gun and the batter looks like a 4 year old with a whiffle ball bat. Next hitter come up. My pitch count is in the 80's. I miss the remote because I was holding a beer at the same time and throw a fastball down the heart tap dead center. He catches it and sends a long fly to deep right. But my guys bail me out and catch it. Whew. Ok, that was a scare but I'll get through the next guy. Click the button for the next guy to come up and the manager comes out to take me out of the game. W.T.M.F? I was livid. Real life livid. I yelled at my TV. My wife heard me. I wasn't getting any action from her after that. But I was just mad. Actually said out loud - these ****ers better trade me right now because this is BS.
So I get out of the game, let the day run through and go and request a trade again. No dice again. Now I'm really really really livid. My wife is calling divorce attorneys. Ok fine, you don't want to trade me out of this crap organization that I despise I'm going to take a dive in my next game and walk everyone. So I click to advance to my next pitching day......... only to immedaitely get the pop up that the Red Sox have bought my contract from AA Sucktown are putting me on the 40 man roster and I am starting in 2 days.
So this is why I got pulled out of the game early - I was getting called up. Skipping AAA altogether and going right to the show.
FOR THE *** **** RED SOX!
I am going back and forth with pride for my video game doppleganger and hatred for the fact that I have to pitch for the Red Sox. Can't demand another trade yet since the option isn't available so I am stuck pitching for the enemy. (good name for a pron movie by the way). Ok fine, I'll pitch for the Red Sox. First game against the Twins. First two batters hit my first pitch hard - line drives to the scum that are the Red Sox fielders so I get two quick outs. Joe Mauer up next. He takes my first pitch into the upper deck. Now I'm even more livid. I got hit. Got hit hard. And I'm pitching for the Red Sox.
But I regrouped, managed to get through 6 solid innings and only won because of the offensive support I got. So I win my first MLB game. For the Red Sox. I'm a starting pitcher now for the Red Sox. Shortly after my start they traded some SP to obviously make room for me permanently on the MLB roster barring my skills. So here I am. Made the show by the end of May/beginning of June. No AAA time. Right into the bigs.
For the Red Sox.
I should erase the guy and start over. But I can't. I made the show. But I hate the Red Sox. But I'm a starter. But it's the Red Sox. But I get a year into my contract renewal time now. But I have to wear the Red Sox uniform.
This is going to monopolize my real life thinking time far too much until I get traded.
I hate this game.
With a NY vs BOS championship series.Congratulations on the move into the big leagues, Y23K. That's awesome! Here's hoping for a World Series title in the near future.

It was on sale for below that during the last Steam sale. I can't say exactly how much but I got The New Order, Alan Wake: American Nightmare & Thomas Was Alone for $24.97. I got The Old Blood and XCom Complete for $19.98Anyone know how low Wolfenstein The New Order has gone for PC? CamelX3 says that on Amazon the lowest has been $25 for a single day last year, mostly hovering around $40. Steam has it for $36 right now, but that seems high for a game over a year old. I am a spoiled Steam Sale buyer, and while I want to try it based on all of the hoopla that has been said, want to wait until it's $20 or less.

Been playing exhibitions with my kid (4yo) on this. He loves it although it essentially leads to me playing 2v1 because he's busy showing me how he can drive on the ceiling. This game is like crack to me. Mind numbing, fast paced crack.http://i.imgur.com/GBl9SLl.gifvIf you have PS+, you should try out Rocket League, which is one of this month's freebies. Basically you're playing soccer with rocket-powered cars. My son and I had a blast with this last night playing one-on-one splitscreen. You can play against bots or online as well.
All this talk of the pitching trials and tribulations got me to start my Ramon Martinez pitcher (yes, Pedro's older brother). Third round pick to the Dodgers (by choice). Gave up a grand slam in the 4th inning of his AA debut. Off to an auspicious start.5Rings said:I feel you. I think if I was traded to the Dodgers, I would simply delete my player. The show now had dynamic settingsI've always wanted to get into those good baseball games but never could. It seems to take a pretty good sample size of games to get the various difficulty sliders to a realistic setting because if it seems slightly too easy or slightly too hard, it kills it for me. By the time I get all of the sliders to where they should be, I'm usually over the whole experience.
I go metered when playing against the CPU.On The Show, what interface are you guys using for pitching - metered or pulse? What's your strategy for going into the red on meterer? What difficulty are you typically using?
Well there goes the rest of my year. I was really hesitant for the reasons you state and DA didn't scratch that Skyrim itch either. Was waiting for Elder Scrolls VI but looks like ESO is on my list now. While Dragon Age 3 and The Witcher 3 were both fine games, neither quite scratched that Skyrim itch.
So what to do? Well, let's try the Elder Scrolls Online (Xbox One)
I have never played an MMO, and not really a multiplayer gamer. But enough reading on this convinced me that I could do enough solo to make it worthwhile.
Tell you what – I LOVE it so far. It definitely has that Skyrim vibe that I’ve been missing. Basically, it feels like Skyrim, only bigger, with deeper build options, better combat, and “witcher/dragon-age-style” hotkeying of attacks. It doesn’t have the huge dungeons of Skyrim (so far, anyway), but definitely bigger than what we saw in Witcher. And the world is ginormous – probably Skyrim times ten. It looks great, and you can explore everywhere. And pick up a quest everywhere.
The big difference is the other players. But you can turn off chat, and you don’t have to interact with them at all. They can’t engage w/ you unless you want to, and you can’t PVP unless you go to Cyrodiil (I don’t even know where it is on the map yet.)
But you can help each other fight. Or not – up to you. I always help someone if I see them fighting. Very fun. Then we go our separate ways. And if you are on a quest, you’ll undoubtable see a few people doing the same quest. You all get to do it individually reward / NPC conversation wise, but can fight together, too, if that makes any sense (remember, I’m totally new to MMO’s, this might be how it’s always done.)
I thought it would be immersion-breaking to “see” all the other players, but oddly, it’s not. I find it very easy to ignore – just a bunch of NPC’s that sometimes help me fight (and sometimes, I help them).
Anyway, this is more or less a heads up to anyone who is missing Skyrim, but was put off by the “MMO” aspect, and the lukewarm reviews it got (I suspect the lukewarm reviews were more aimed at the MMO aspects than anything.)
Yeah I was avoiding it because MMO. I had visions of dealing with jackass 10 year olds all day. But this reviews has me rethinking.Well there goes the rest of my year. meter. I rarely if ever go read on the meter. In fact, most pitches I throw I let go well before I even get to green. I could be completely wrong but it at least seems to me that I get more movement with the ball - and more importantly I control the second click in the release point a lot better that way.On The Show, what interface are you guys using for pitching - metered or pulse? Its free if you have a PlayStation Plus account and a PS4. Its very fun.Been watching Rocket League played on Twitch. I'm gonna definitely buy that probably tonight after work on Steam. Looks good enough that I won't even wait for a sale. Anybody from here on Steam that play it?
Yea, you won't be bothering with them at all - zero official interaction, and you can turn off the chat (one annoyance is you do have to turn it off every time you enter a new main area - haven't found a way to keep it from turning back on - but in a four hour session, I had to turn it off three times - no big deal.)Yeah I was avoiding it because MMO. From what I read, plenty of people are playing this as a solo game, with occasional "oh let me help that guy fight". The good part is, there's no "official" team up with that - you see someone fighting, throw a spell to help. If you see someone doing the same quest as you (running in the same direction, talking to the same NPC), you can kind of team up by just waiting for each other. It's really fun, even with my preferred play style of no chat / no interaction.
There are dungeons where actual teaming up is necessary, and I can see myself doing that at some point. But so far, there's sooo much content for solo play, it's mind boggling. At first, the character skills don't seem all that deep, but they are, as all skills can be morphed, there are tons of passive ones, etc. It's a little more witcher/dragon age in this respect, with many of your skills being different attacks / buffs, with lot of passive ones augmenting them. I definitely recommend reading online (and read recent stuff, as updates have changed a lot.)
You'll probably try three or four different characters. The cool part is, there are three starting areas you can choose from, so I started a thief-type, played for about ten hours to get him to level 10, then decided to try a two-handed Templar, and I picked another starting area, making that first ten hours totally new.
I can easily see this game taking me to Nov and Fallout 4. It's very different than what I expected and the lukewarm reviews led me to believe.

Tell you what I LOVE it so far. It definitely has that Skyrim vibe that Ive been missing. Basically, it feels like Skyrim, only bigger, with deeper build options, better combat, and witcher/dragon-age-style hotkeying of attacks. It doesnt have the huge dungeons of Skyrim (so far, anyway), but definitely bigger than what we saw in Witcher. And the world is ginormous probably Skyrim times ten. It looks great, and you can explore everywhere. And pick up a quest everywhere.
The big difference is the other players. But you can turn off chat, and you dont have to interact with them at all. They cant engage w/ you unless you want to, and you cant PVP unless you go to Cyrodiil (I dont even know where it is on the map yet.)
But you can help each other fight. Or not up to you. I always help someone if I see them fighting. Very fun. Then we go our separate ways. And if you are on a quest, youll undoubtable see a few people doing the same quest. You all get to do it individually reward / NPC conversation wise, but can fight together, too, if that makes any sense (remember, Im totally new to MMOs, this might be how its always done.)
I thought it would be immersion-breaking to see all the other players, but oddly, its not. I find it very easy to ignore just a bunch of NPCs that sometimes help me fight (and sometimes, I help them).
Anyway, this is more or less a heads up to anyone who is missing Skyrim, but was put off by the MMO aspect, and the lukewarm reviews it got (I suspect the lukewarm reviews were more aimed at the MMO aspects than anything.)
Free to play.My temptation grows. Is there a monthly fee or is it free to play?Yea, you won't be bothering with them at all - zero official interaction, and you can turn off the chat (one annoyance is you do have to turn it off every time you enter a new main area - haven't found a way to keep it from turning back on - but in a four hour session, I had to turn it off three times - no big deal.)Yeah I was avoiding it because MMO. I had visions of dealing with jackass 10 year olds all day. But this reviews has me rethinking.Well there goes the rest of my year.
