Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (3 Viewers)

I guess they are now selling an Enhanced version of Dying Light.

I don't play a lot of video games but does enhanced mean more gore or better graphics or something?

It might just be patched or something.

IDK, but when it came out the game was pretty terrible, particularly the parkour elements.

It was kind of fun being the monster and destroying people the first day it came out but then people leveled up and could fight the monster.

it's a decent game if you can get it for like $25

Finally have my PS4. The price drop plus the extra $50 on black friday finally got me. PS4 showed up last Tues, but had to wait till Friday for the first games to make it. Starting with Diablo III. A little begin the curve but pretty damn excited.

Also have watch dogs, AC:Unity, and FF10 HD on the way. Should keep me busy for a while.

Watch Dogs stunk. I'm sorry

Watch dogs, actually heard it was ok, surprised it's getting ripped here, and was interested in trying for $10, FF10 personal favorite game I was getting regardless, AC:Unity, Paris looks amazing, no way I wasn't going to give it a try, but I'm expecting it to be like III, interesting environment, not good overall. Diablo III, ok, that I just think is a good game that I've been waiting on.

Last of Us, Mad Max, both Metal Gear V's, Batman: AK, ME:SoM, and AC Syndicate are all on my list when they hit a good sale.

All the big RPG's Witcher III, DA: Inquisition, FO4 I'll probably be playing on PC when I finish building my new one.

Dvinity Original Sin: EE for couples update: Still awesome, still fun. Looking forward to a rumored point in the game where we can re-spec our characters.

There is a lot of "you need synergy" to do well in this game. Fire and earth magic have lots of combos, as do electric and water magic. Having played a while now, I suggest putting the synergy ones that pair well together on separate characters, so you can make combos in one turn's time, rather than two.

It is a lot of fun. My gf is a wizard (again, like Diablo) which makes me a little sad because I love playing wizards and generally think you run the risk of getting killed a lot if you have two...but I'm a Ranger and I like them too so it's all good. It's a little tough to multi-class because you only have so many attribute points (STR, dex, etc), but anyone can learn any skill so it is also quite easy to multi-class.

Bottom line - couch co-op that works very well. Recommended if you've got a significant other and want to game together and especially if you like turn-based RPGs.

How pervasive is the profanity in Rainbow Six and COD3?

I will turn off a movie if it has too many effenheimers.

Plus, I'd like to play with my 16 year old and he doesn't like it either.

I don't think there's any cursing in Rainbow Six... only played the beta though... is there even a single player/story mode?

Trade everything in and pick up Last of Us. It should be cheap now?
I never played the others, but Diablo is a lot of fun.

Can anyone recommend a PC/Gaming headset for under $100?

I'm thinking the Skullcandy Slyr, but I'm open to suggestions. HAS to be able to be used on a PC. Use on an XB1 is a bonus.

I feel like I've played enough Just Cause 3 to give it a proper review.

If you haven't played the Just Cause series, it's basically a third person, open world shooter where the point is to cause as much destruction as possible, and you can do so in very creative ways. Just Cause 3 is a continuation on this. When I say open world I really mean it. The entire map is open from the get go. There are no lame towers that you have to climb in order to unlock ####, or gated off areas or anything. Oh, and the map is approximately 4 times as large as GTA V's map, so you've got a LOT of mayhem to cause. There are a number of vehicles to drive and fly around in like fancy sports cars, tanks, helicopters, and F-16s.

In addition to weapons, your dude has a grappling hook which he can use to pull himself up onto ledges or to cause destruction. For example, if you need to destroy a large water tower, and your AK47 isn't cutting it, you can put a C4 explosive onto a truck, grapple the truck to the tower, retract and watch it all blow up. Last night I grappled a bunch of people to the blades of a helicopter and watched the resulting merry-go-round as I took off in it. You also have a wingsuit to glide around in. So yeah, you're guy is basically Superman without the cape.

And about things blowing up, one of the best things about this game is the scale, feel and look of things exploding. Explosions are EPIC. The game really excels in this area. Your dude has unlimited C4 as well so you never have to worry about holding back because you're low on charges. If it looks like it can blow up, there is no reason not to do so!

A few areas where the game does not excel. The story is very akin to the story in a porno, it's just there in the background and you dont care at all about it. If you're looking for a deep story, stay away. The driving is not quite as good as in JC2, either. It might just be that I'm not used to it yet, but vehicles often feel like they're floating. I'm also not a fan of how they implemented the upgrade system. Upgrades are unlocked slowly by liberating (destroying) settlements and bases. This means by the time you unlock the last of the fun goodies your character can utilize, the game will be almost over.

Also, if you have a PC with an AMD video card, I'd wait until they release the first patch because there are loads of problems with those video cards.

Anyway, the game is a great, incredibly fun time waster. Just dont expect a deep narrative experience.
Thanks. Added to my Xmas list.

I know everyone is excited about FO4, but I played New Vegas and never really got into it. Something about FO just didn't grab me. I may get FO4 at some point but it will be at a much cheaper price point.

I never really did get into New Vegas, either. Liked FO3 a lot and love FO4. FO4 is a masterpiece.

It had potential. It reminds me a lot of the first Assassin's Creed game, in that it had great ideas and poor execution that was remedied in the next installment. I hope the same for Watch Dogs. No coincidence that they're both Ubisoft games.

In the PC version of FC4 they really screwed up the co-op to where you could not stay connected. If they fixed it I'd load it back up and play some more.

Looking for a new game. I think I'm finally done with Destiny. Anyone playing Rainbow Six Siege? Would like something with good multiplayer but not something that takes hours to complete like the Destiny raids.

Started playing Until Dawn the other night.

To say the dialog is stilted would be charitable.

Having said that, the graphics are really good and I like the direction it's going in that the decisions made will have a real impact on the results.
Planning on playing this with my horror junkie GF sometime soon... she doesn't like video games very much but will get into it if there's gore and scares. Will it deliver?
Will report back the further I get.Have only been a couple jump scares so far.
It has taken a while to get going, but now that it has I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Played for four hours last night.

Looking for a new PC 4 player online co-op game. Doesn't have to be FPS but something story driven like the Borderlands series would be preferable.

I have been going through co-optimus looking for stuff and these all sound interesting enough even if nothing jumps off the page for me:

Monaco What's Yours is Mine

Dead Island (or DI: Riptide) We have already played the Left4Dead series.

Torchlight II never really played these top down games but it is highly rated

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide

Risk of Rain

Elder Scrolls Online - as I understand it you can play this essentially as a 4 person co-op but I am not sure how much real story is involved.

Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Anyone played Aliens: Colonial Marines on PC since the patches and DLC have come out? It was eviscerated when it came out, and justifiably so as I understand it, but I know they put out at least one patch and multiple DLC. Did the game get better?

I think it is interesting because I like the Alien universe and because it is a Gearbox game I have to imagine their drop-in/drop-out online co-op gaming mechanics are pretty buttoned up.

Is it worth it for $20

Torchlight 2 is great. Have you also looked at Magicka? That is a lot of fun, as well.

There are mods that let you play Divinity Original Sin as a 4-player co-op instead of 2.

PS4? PSN is Cortimus. Its Futmas time!!! I've been sucking so bad that I can't get out of Div 9 online, but I haven't played this week and their was a patch Monday.

Until Dawn was good, not great.

It should have been more straightforward than it was. I still don't know what the totems were for. The gauges for your characteristics don't seem to amount to much importance.

But the "oh #### I didn't mean to do that and now character X is dead" moments were pretty fun. And the graphics, sound design, and atmospherics are top notch.

Not sure if I'll play again.

I'm definitely picking this up at some point. It looks like a one-and-done type of game, but that's fine if I catch it at the right price.

Definitely worth playing at least once. Two hints for a "better" ending
