Vikings 160/1 to win the Superbowl (1 Viewer)

So a buddy and me went around to 12 sportsbooks and found a huge disparity between the Venetian and the rest.

Most books had the Vikes 30-40 to 1 ballpark, while the Venetian had them 160/1.

My buddy breaks it down to me like this. All they have to do is make the playoffs and you hedge from there.

"You basically get 9-1 that they make the playoffs at those odds."

We research, and Vegas is only offering 4-1 that the Vikes win the division. It sounds like a good deal.

We promptly bet on the Vikes. I bet $100 he bets several hundred.

My question is this.

If you have a 160/1 ticket at $100 and the Vikes MAKE THE PLAYOFFS,

How much would you bet on their opponent?

At 160-1, its a $16,000 ticket if they win it all.

Considering they'll probably be a wildcard at best, they would have to win 4 games to win the superbowl.

WC Game - Bet $1k on the opponent = Net Win $900

Div Game - Bet $2k on the opponent = Net Win $900

Conf Game - Bet $4k on the opponent = Net Win $900

Super Bowl - Bet $8k on the opponent = Net win $900

Is this what you'd do? Turn your $100 into $900 guaranteed? Hopefully, as the season unfolds, this strategy will become more clear.

I would try this:

WC: Bet $500 on opponent: Win $400 or continue

Div: Bet $1500 on opponent: Win $900 or continue

Con: Bet $3500 on opponent: Win $1400 or continue

SB: Bet $8000 on opponet: Win $2400 either way

Unless you think Minn won't make it deep in the playoffs.

What was the over/under on number of wins for the Vikings? If you could hedge that by taking the under, and then taking the money line on any games between that number and a playoff spot, you could probably make "sure" money.

What if you bet on the opponent but they don't cover the spread??
