Vikings at Colts (1 Viewer)

Vikings having their way with the Colts defense with ADP and Harvin setting the tone. Gonna have to make some throws down field sometime though.

Vikings DB Winfield beaten badly on a deep route by Colts Donnie Avery. Luck has played well with the Colts O-Line giving him decent protection; he certainly has good pocket awareness.

Ponder is so mediocre, but the playcalling is not helping him. Probably half his throws are bubble screens to Percy. Let him throw some 10-15 yarders!

Can we officially start the countdown to Donald Brown being demoted?

Totally. He looks awful. No vision or speed. Jhits the line and falls down.
Yep. He stinks. As a Colts fan, I've been saying it ever since we drafted him. He's never looked any good and when we got rid of Addai and knew Brown was going to be the RB, figured the passing game would be even more prevalent. I want to draft a RB this year. Delone Carter looks meh, and Vick Ballard I can't see being an every down back.

Is the game plan just ponder escape right followed by harvin screen? Rinse and repeat?

What will it take for Frasier to take the leash off Ponder and the offense in the first half

They wait until they are down 14 to start opening up the offense and throw deep. Up until that point, lots of short passes. Doing so keep the defenders close to the line therefore limiting any break out run potential from Peterson.

Hint to the coaches.. Ponder has proven two weeks in a row that when you take the leash off he can deliver..

Better learn that quick, or get your resumes up to date :bye:

This. It's infuriating. I seem to remember a few times last year they were down late in the 4th and punted on 4th down. Drives me crazy. Ponder isn't great yet obviously, but he's got enough to make plays if you break the lock off the playbook. Otoh Harvin may get 400 touches, so that's nice if you own him.

Pretty disappointing that once again there seemed to be a lack of urgency in the game plan. While I agree that the Vikings are built for ball control and they did an alright job of this 32:53 TOP what the Vikings still has not seemed to learn is that YOU NEED A LEAD before you start controlling the clock!

This is the same story as last week. Slow to get going on offense and lack of a sense of urgency to score. Do that early on and then go into ball control. If the Vikings are behind then take some chances and let Ponder get a lead.

Harvin is a great player. The Vikings have had many very good players. Harvin is right up there with them in my opinion.

I do think the offense will get better once Simpson returns. I think this was a winnable game for the Vikings that they let get away from them.
