Vikings at Rams (1 Viewer)

Dumb.

Vikings mismanage their time settle for the FG and the Rams fans are silent. What a nice crowd, given that their team was just slapped around for a half of football.

What should I have next? Choices are:

Southern Tier Chokalt

Brau Brothers Moo Joos

Bourbon.

Keep in mind I hope to remain awake until at least 9PM.

TIA.

Viking go 3 and out to start the half.

Danny A is returning the punt for STL and takes it for about 30 yards which is of course called by for an illegal block in the back. Figures.

Ponder over 100 yards passing! :banned: Anyone figure out if there is any correlation between Ponder's passing yards and Vikings victories?

Things look bad for the Rams defense. Ponder is just taking his time and throwing to his first read without trouble.

Haven't seen him throw off his back foot which he's often guilty of when pressured.

Of course, as I write this Ponder gets hit and fumbles the ball out of bounds and for a big loss.

Gonna be challenged as a forward pass.

Ruled a fumble which leaves the Vikings 3rd and long. Ponder then throws into coverage and is lucky his pass wasn't picked for a TD.

I'm shocked that they didn't run it on 3rd and 29 in Rams territory. Walsh makes it a mute point by kicking the long FG anyway. I love mute points. Love 'em.

To their credit, the Rams are making adjustments and are moving the ball with screens to combat the heavy Vikings pressure. Bradford then gets lit up when he tries to pass the ball deeper than 10 yards.

ADP owners have to be hoping for a Rams score here and Steven Jackson looks like the guy who could make it happen.

One has to wonder how the Vikings will handle ADP if they keep this big lead. They know he wants a record but they also have to keep him healthy as they push for a spot in the playoffs. The Vikings haven't been in this position too often so it's difficult to predict how they'll handle this.

1st and Goal for the Rams at the Vikings 6 yard line. Steven Jackson on the sideline and Bradford catches the TD.

Amendola then spikes the ball into the face of an unfortunate older fella standing near the field. He's hurt as the ball seemed to ricochet directly into his eye.

Vikings more than happy to give the ball to ADP here in the 4th quarter. Ponder then makes another quick pass over the middle.

Again, when he's able to just throw it to his first read he's a good QB...and isn't that true of almost any QB? Rams have to pressure Ponder but they're so worried about ADP they're just letting Ponder stand there.

Danny Amendola catches a long pass in the middle of traffic. He should've been crushed but avoided the hit and the Rams get their first big play in a while.

Josh Robinson with a terrible mistake in coverage which leads to a pass interference penalty at the Vikings 6. Bradford passes for a TD to his TE whats-his-name.

Robinson was doing fine but gave the receiver a little - and unnecessary - tug at the very end of the route.

Amendola converts the 2 point conversion. He then hands the ball to someone on the field as there were no old men available for spiking.

Ponder needs to step up here and lead his team on a long TD drive to ice this game. I wouldn't mind a nice long AP run for TD either, but it'd be nice to see Ponder step up here.

A squandered effort as the Vikings offense sputtered with ADP on the sideline.

Blair Walsh comes on to crush another long FG. He's had a terrific rookie season.

AP done for the day?
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. The guy is trying for the rushing record. Plus Gerhart has proven he kind of....sucks.
I'd rather that than see him get hurt during a relatively meaningless play.
Sure but it isn't meaningless to those of us who need his points ;)
Or since the Vikings can still lose this game.
The cynicism is strong in this one.
