Vikings QB Situation (1 Viewer)

Brad Johnson is a solid veteran, but does anyone think Minnesota makes a play for a free agent QB? Or do they draft somebody?

Collins? Brooks? McCown? Griese?

I think they'll stay with BJ and draft a QB. Maybe with the extra #2 they can make a deal and move up in the draft into the top 10 and grab Jay Cutler.

Also McNair might be free and clear too.

Rumors are that they are showing some interest in McCown. Sorry, no link, just what I heard.

When I first read this, my first thought was, "Cade McNown?" Just goes to show how deep Josh was buried in Arizona. He could be a good fit in Minnesota.

If Minny trades for schaub, my offseason will become one of the best I've ever had.

Rivers

Ronnie Brown

Schaub

Chester Taylor

Dominic Rhodes (ok, that's a stretch)

Someone posted in the other thread that Minnesota may be in talks (with 3 other teams) about moving up to #2 via trade with the Saints. I am prematurely getting to excited about Lienart possibilities.

I hope not. Vikes need to turn around and give that 2nd rounder to Atlanta for Schaub. He looked great in limited action last year.

I really like McCown. He is highly underrated and I would LOVE for the Vikings to sign him.
I don't. I think he's average at best. And the Viking faithful could never accept him after his knocking the Vikings out of the playoffs on that last second "pushout" touchdown two years ago.

That was all on Denard Walker!! All he did was put up numbers when he got the opportunity, and he was close to .500 as a starter for the Cardinals!! I think he is going to be good with whomever he plays next season.

Ever since he McCown was miked up on the sideline in that game in Mexico this year, I can't stand him.

Here's my synopsis of his conversation on the sideline:

"Hey, Kurt, did you see that? Did you see that throw I made? It was pretty good, huh? Yeah, it was great. I think you could've done it too, though. It was great. You're great. I love you. Wanna make out? Christ is risen. Praise Jesus."

Warner just kept looking at him, saying, "Yeah, Josh, good throw. Now get away from me."

It was nauseating.

I think it would take more than a 2nd to get Schaub. From what I have read at Finheaven when Miami was looking at getting Schaub the Falcons want at least a 1st for him

What are the chances that Cutler falls to them at 17? Now that NO and Miami are not likely to be drafting a QB this may be a possibility.

You got to realize that they arent shopping him. Other teams are calling them. They dont want to lose Schaub. He's a quality backup who knows the team and system. Next year they might not have a choice, but that doesnt mean they want to lose him this year.
