Vince Young to Philly (1 Viewer)

If Vick misses maybe a couple games and leaves early a couple times, this is a good spot for Young.

He's nowhere near as electric as Vick, but he can run and improvise. I think he's got a far stronger arm than some give him credit for and...him doing a Mike Vick imitation (with it being understood that he's a backup) seems like an ideal spot for him. He also has always had some curious throws go in the dirt and maybe Vick will point out he's doing something dopey there. I don't find their games to be extremely similar, but there's enough to the running and improvisation that I imagine he's in a good spot to learn.

He listened to and adores Mack Brown.

He listened to Fish. He didn't listen to his OCs in TEN yet listened to McNair and KC.

Mack Brown spent a bunch of time with him this offseason. It's everything that Brown set him straight.

If he doesn't listen to his Eagles coaches he is done in the NFL. This is a major issue.

Eagles fans are an extremely passionate group. VY seems to listen to every fan and digest it all in a very unprofessional self-defeating manner. I don't think you can be an NFL QB and behave as such.

Great post Bri.

I still think that he's a good fit for the Eagles because if Vick does go out they don't have to throw away half the playbook in the middle of the game. That has a lot of real world, Nfl value.

Add in their need for a decent backup now that Kolb is gone. They wanna win this year. Who else out there would they pick up?

And finally the recent track record of rehab projects turning into gold. If I was them I'd be playing with the house money too. The only thing is, they only have him on a 1 yr contract. That could change during the season if they think his market is improving. Very nice low risk gamble.

I don't think this point can be emphasized enough...if he thought they were "tough" fans in TN, wait 'til he gets a load of Philly.

Sigh. Thx for the info. I miss the days when I didn't have to talk myself into liking an Eagles QB.

Is VY smart enough to pick up Andy Ried's offense? I know Vick kinda picked it up, but VY doesn't seem to be too smart to me.

Sometimes, he's got a fine football mind. He had enough OCs in TEN that he could pick up Reid's O but will he put the time in necessary to?
