W7 Game Thread - San Diego V Kansas City (1 Viewer)

anyone watching this game... can you give some info on what in the world is wrong with the SD Offense?? Is Rivers showing signs of being a ookie or is it something else?

2nd fumble by LT. 2 plays = TD Huard to E. Kennison.

EDIT: Correction: Rivers fumble, not LT

LT and Rudi sucking goose eggs again. charming

GDB my "RB stud" strategy. I swear I'm going aerial attack next year

The Chiefs are all over the field on defense. Rivers is dropping back with two guys in his face every down and LT is getting hit either behind or at the LOS when they try to run. Rivers has missed a couple of passes (one deep to I think Parker that he barely overthrew, could have been a TD, and the INT over the middle). The Chiefs are playing incredibly fast defensively.

Somebody predicted this here IIRC, but I can't find the thread. KC is coming out fired up, a la Arizona last week. It's gonna be a long game, but it'll be interesting to follow. I just wish it was aired here in Chicago... :wall:

I get that teams are better at home, but holy... the Chiefs can compete with ANY team in the NFL at home, but on the road they are absolute dogsh*t.

Why? Why SO different?

SD offense is starting to make adjustments - quick passes, and keeping rivers on the move. Let's see if Gunther can counter...

Because Arrowhead is one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL, and Herm opens up the offense at home. But, more than that...like I said in the other thread, SD's D hasn't faced any good offense yet this year, and the two good D's they played, they did ok against one, and not so good against the other. KC's three losses were to two division winners and the SB champ from last year.

The Chiefs are playing all-or-nothing defensively. They're stacking the line and bringing guys every play, and its feast or famine for Rivers throwing it. LT is getting no room because of it. Philip hasn't really made rookie mistakes, but rather heavy pressure mistakes. The Chargers offensive isn't getting into its audibles fast enough either and they've had to burn a couple of time outs. If Rivers gets time the entire middle of the field is open, its just a question of if he has the time to get it out.

I think we are seeing the changing of the guard here. Turner is getting more yards on his carries and I think he takes the starting role in San Diego sooner than later. Book it!

Huard's line is interesting.

3/7 for 32 yards.

Completion #1: T.Gonzalez to KC 26 for no gain

Completion #2: K.Wilson for 11 yards, TOUCHDOWN

Completion #3: E.Kennison for 21 yards, TOUCHDOWN

LOL..1st catch for no yards, followed by his only 2 completions for all his yards and 2 TDs,

Yup. Similar to how most teams are scheming against KC this year - shut down the known commodity, and make the unproven QB make some plays...

If that pattern is going to continue, he can go ahead and throw his next 3 passes to LJ.

first favre now huard?!?!lol:1-10-KC 27 (14:47) D.Huard pass to D.Huard to KC 25 for -2 yards (S.Merriman).
Knock it down!! Huard did the same thing a couple weeks ago, and fumbled after the reception (in the opponent's red zone). Guy needs to learn from his mistakes...Nice pass to Gonzo there, though... :)

Awesome. Someone must've mentioned to Huard that he has one of the best pass-catching tight ends in NFL history.

About time.

Okay EdwardCat.
Wow, some of you people are hypersensitive to anything negative about the untouchable LT2.
I just assumed your initial post was a joke, because it was so absurd.
It was but the Sarcasm-O-Meter must be at a all time low today for this game.

God forbid the Chiefs give Johnson some blocking.

That TD run was ALL him, which is an all-too familar sighting this season. Sooner or later he's going to take a nasty hit on one of these plays where he's doing everything himself.

Welbourne should be back soon, which should help. LT is the big problem, though - Black just plain sucks. Turley was only slightly better, but I hope he's back soon...
