Waiting for a flight to my first corporate conference AMA (1 Viewer)

How am I getting rewards if I'm not paying for the flight or lodging?
Because rewards accrue to the person who's rewards number for a particular program is used.  You get a frequent flyer number and when you book or after your company books you use that number to add the flight (or hotel room for a hotel rewards program) to your rewards account.

Most companies will let you benefit from those rewards / frequent flier programs (other more dicky ones may require you use work related travel rewards for work but that's usually not the case)

These are things you don't learn growing up poor

Where in Durham are you staying? Some good spots downtown and a pretty cool area called American Tabacco something which is an adaptive reuse of old warehouses and tabacco facilities with some restaurants bars, lawns that often have live music and all.

A few good spots on 9th street as well adjacent to the downtown. The Pit is supposed to be pretty decent BBQ and a lot of fun per my colleagues - I've not yet made it there. It's actually a pretty solid food culture there.

Once you get more into the suburban areas closer to the Research Triangle Park it gets a lot more boring.

Idk they booked us rooms but I didn't look up where the hotel is yet.

i think all the nightlife is pretty much planned out by my coworkers from the area

They bought the ticket not me
Do you just quit there? RMs take what is there's, they don't let some assistant set everything in stone!

In all seriousness, find out who books... make nice... kindly request a window/aisle if possible.  Also request getting your travel confirmations ASAP and then you can call and make necessary changes.

I was wondering what that stank was. What time does your connection leave? I need to go outside and mow the grass.
