Waiver process on CBS Sportsline (1 Viewer)

Shrek

Having a great season
I have never had a problem with this on CBS Sportsline in the past. We drafted last weekend, and usually, once I load the rosters, teams are free to start doing add/drops right away. I remember in the past having to click a link called "Start Waiver Process" to get the ball rolling for the season, but I can't find it this year. And of course their Help sucks.

So is anyone else running into this? Or is there a special section I haven't visited yet where you have to start the waiver process?

NM- I found it. But I will leave this up in case anyone else has problems with this.

I actually had to click on the link "Free Agents", select a player to be picked up, and get to the screen where I would normally do an Add/Drop. Then at the bottom of the screen there is a red link called "Start Waivers". I don't recall them being so difficult to get started before, but there you have it.

Thanks for posting this. I probably would've run into the same difficulty this afternoon after my draft. They are always good for hiding those stupid red links at the bottom of pages.

?? Typically, do the waivers start right after the draft, or at the start of the season? If start of the season, is it just first come, first serve between the draft and season?

I ran into the same problem in my league. I am not the commish, but it took our commish forever to get it started. Now I am not able to pick anyone up until wednesday. I am pretty sure he figured it out because I am able to do it now. Thanks for the info!

I think most people start their waivers right after the draft. There's usually no reason why you shouldn't be able to start adding and dropping players once you have drafted.

How long do players in your league remain on waivers before they become free agents? I only ask because I have set the waiver period for my league to "1 day," and yet it still takes more than 48 hours for them to clear. Thus far sportsline has been unresponsive to my emails...

But if you start waivers right after the draft what changes the order from one week to another?? During season its by record (or at least thats how most do it).. i was thinking about having adds/drops be a free-for-all until I start waivers on Thursday... Does that sound wrong?

I start them right when we finish the draft. The initial order is an extension of the draft. Waiver order only applies that night, and then only for dropped players (24 waiver period) on any other night between then and week 1.

It depends on when they're dropped. Waivers run like at 3 am. So if you drop someone at at 7 am on Tuesday, they won't be eligible to be picked up off waivers until the Thursday 3 am run. They need to be on waivers for one full waiver cycle.

That's how I used to do it before we changed our waiver policy. Now, instead of changing weekly by record, we set it once right after the draft and then it only changes when someone picks up a WW player, then they move to the bottom of the order. We decided a few years back to stop rewarding people for sucking.

Yep, this is how we do it too.

On sportsline you can either set it to 1.) reset based on standings, or 2.) Never reset (always based on prior waiver runs)So option one is straight forward....is option two the one that will put you at the back of the line if you make a waiver claim?? is that what they mean by "based on prior waiver runs"? I agree with not rewarding those that suck, so i would like to set it up the same as yours...just cant figure it out!!
