Waiver wire and FAAB Discussion (Redraft) - Week #3 (going into week 4) (5 Viewers)

All these injuries and not a single decent waiver option available rhe first 3 weeks of the season. This is brutal. If you didnt have a good draft or have injury bad luck you have no shot of improving your roster. Fantasy is starting to get too difficult.

Well, thankfully I didn't miss out on anyone when I decided to pick up Najee last week instead of the other RB options, but I'll take another swing at it.

Tre Benson was snagged a couple weeks ago in all my leagues, so can't throw all my FAAB at him, but he's an unload target if he is available in your leagues.

I'm targeting Rashaad White, Woody Marks, and Rico Dowdle in the league where I'm pressed for RB depth. White and Dowdle and an injury away from a serviceable role, and Marks is the most interesting back the Texans have, for whatever that's worth. Not moving much of my FAAB to do so. Corum and Ollie Gordon are sitting there as consolation prizes if the run on lottery tickets goes deep, but I have confidence that most people are going to avoid all these backs anyways- I'm expecting a light waiver run given the talent on offer

In that same league Ayomanor is available, maybe the biggest prize on the wire, so I'm putting in a claim with a low bid just to snipe anyone hoping to stash him for cheap/free. I'm incredibly flush with WRs so at best he's there as trade bait.

Im barely even interested in Tucker. That's a complete fluke.
Tucker is one of those players where if I can get him for free and don't mind him taking the last spot on my bench, I may be tempted to pick him up for another week just on speculation he is more involved. I'm certainly not spending big on him if I can avoid it, but the Raiders are going to throw a bunch if they can't run the ball for the life of them.

I'm debating dropping Ridley for Ayomanor.

How about Kincaid? The TE landscape is awful and he's been dropped and picked up multiple in my leagues already.

He had 1 TD last week and was inches away for 2 others.

My top targets are Burden and Tucker, in that order. They’re low bids though.

Regarding the former, he’s a baller. So, it’s worth the speculative add and hold if you have the space. Probably won’t happen this year (as it may need an injury or trade), but he’s a future fantasy WR2 or better.

As for the latter, Geno isn’t locking in on Bowers much to the chagrin of owners like me. Like Absolutely Nothing mentioned, they’re probably gonna be passing a lot because they’re running game has been totally ineffective. Let’s see if Tucker can gobble up some of those excess targets and produce WR3-ish numbers.

Who do you like more ROS, Kincaid or Hunter Henry?
This is hunch-based but I can see Maye leaning on Henry in particular especially after last week whereas we know Allen is already comfortable throwing it all over the place to whoever is open.

...curious why Tyquan Thornton hasn't appeared even as an exploratory add on this week's list.

I think Tyquan is ok for a week fill in. The fear is with Worthy and Rice coming back soon that he will be irrelevant when they return.

True. I guess as a BTJr manager, a bandaid is more attractive than usual.

Is it though? 90%+ snap share in every game this season so far and 8 & 9 targets in back to back games. Raiders run game is suspect so far and Geno likes to sling it.

I wouldn’t bid crazy, but he’s definitely worth throwing something on if you are looking for some WR help.

Tucker isn't a complete fluke. If you were brave enough to watch any Raider games last year, you would have seen Tre getting open a ton. He is usually open tbh, however up until this year his hands were iffy at best and obviously our QB situation was a mess.

I agree with the above that I wouldn't bid crazy, but the player himself is damn good. The Raiders will likely be playing from behind a lot and having to air it out. I just don't fully trust this coaching staff to make him an instant fantasy start.

Lost Najee in one league and Conner in another, but no Benson available so I think this week is scattershot approach. Just throw a bid out for Dowdle, Corum, Demercado, Haskins, Rachaad White if he's there, Giddens, Brian Robinson, whoever.

Corum would be my priority out of those options. The rest don't really excite me but I agree with the strategy at this point in the season. The RB market is bone dry.

Not much out there in my dynasty league. Looking to bid on O. Gadsden as my only TE is Kelce. Others of note I'm looking at:
S. Shepard
J. Tolbert
P. Washington
E. Demercado

Burden and Tucker are out there. It’s not worth dropping one of Ayomanor, Fannin (have Warren), Tuten or Marks? It’s a start 3WR 2Flex.

Short-term fix at WR in deeper leagues (or maybe even not so deep).... I'll be throwing a small bid down on Sterling Shepard where available/needed.
I like the idea of more Sterling Shepard vs the Bucs turning to Otton at TE
Bucs have major OL problems, they need their TEs to stay in help block both in the run and pass

If it would get BTJ to hold onto the damn ball I'd eat a box of bandaids.

Touchdowns???

Who are you guys prioritizing, in my position here:

Lost Ceedee. I have Dak, and Trevor Lawrence.

Pretty good elsewhere, but considering some waivers for Geno Smith and Tre Tucker. I do have Brock bowers. I dont NEED Tre Tucker, or Geno actually. But i dont feel confident rolling out Dak Or Trevor Lawernce going forward.

I own the #2 waiver priority. Would you guys take Tre first? and hope to get Geno? or take Geno first (i have Bowers) and hope to get Tre later?

IF i Take Tre, and miss on Geno, I'll probably stick with TLaw or grab Jaxson Dart.

I guess what im asking is, Do you guys think Tre could actually be real? or do i bypass him and get Geno?

I dont want to drop Dak, as i have the ceedee stack.

2 of the TDs looked like blown coverage. Was the defense focusing on Meyers, the TEs, even Thornton?

Trevor Lawrence has been a wet fart this year. I don't know if Geno Smith moves the needle tho. I mean, Lawrence has far more weapons...

Is Geno your only option? I would agree he is going to throw the ball a ton but he's going to make mistakes. I am fine grabbing a guy like Tucker because he's going to see a ton of targets but I don't know that I am jacked for Geno. Tucker saw 8 targets last week and only caught 4... is that Geno or Tucker? I genuinely don't know because I didn't watch the game.

Gino isn’t an upgrade over what you have. I’d go for Tucker.

I like Tucker as a speculative add, but I’m not sure he’s worth a #2 priority, Also, I agree with the others that Geno isn’t that much of an upgrade over Lawrence as a backup. So if I were you, I’d probably hold onto my claim.

Haven’t use $1 of FAAB yet, and team sitting pretty good at 3-0… but playing the defensive roullete every week (actually pretty well) and Denver got dropped last week.

Thinking of dropping some money on them to have a set it and forget it type defense until their bye. Schedule looks pretty good and a good defense.

Just not sure how much they are worth, as I rarely bid on defenses until the playoffs.

#1 has to be Trey Benson. Regardless of whether you think he's as good as Conner, the volume will be huge. Only Demarcado behind him.
If hes available, hes 100% bid.
Agreed.

Anyone that has QB issue, add Dart

No matter if you have WR issues or not, add Luther
Luther is also available in my league. Can he become fantasy relevant with both Odunze and Moore?
I think Moore loses targets to Burden.

I could see them moving Moore before the deadline. Could be some buyers. I think Burden is the best receiver in this class.

Is Caleb enough to produce two relevant WRs? I really think we are underestimating how bad the Dallas defense played. I bet Burden is unclaimed in 10 team leagues. His snap share wasn't very high, IIRC

Burden has 1, 2, and 3 targets in his 3 games.
It’s more of a bet on the player than the situation. He’s so talented that you hope the Bears expand his usage as the season progresses. Of course, there’s also the chance of an injury to Moore/ Odunze.

Also, the sitch isn’t so bad either, as it looks like he may be part of an ascendant QB and offense.

I'm betting Moore gets moved

Could you bros rank these QB’s ros?

Nix
Maye
Caleb
Geno
Dart
Thanks for that ..

You’re really ranking Dart above those? Or are you just shine boxing?
The Raiders offense is
:sadbanana:

Caleb is a quality best ball option that can spike when the matchup is right, but the ceiling isn't there in neutral or worse matchups.

It's just 3 weeks, but Nix has played very poorly.

My conviction is not as strong with Maye, but I think his coaching will always hold him back, at least some.

I don't see the same with the Giants. Dabol loves Dart and has not choice but to go all in. He needs wins to save his job and all he has for a run game is a day 3 rookie. There will be turnovers, but there will also be explosive play potential. I'm comfortable with the risk he busts, very bummed I missed out on him in my 2 qb league.
