Waiver Wire Gems - Week 7 edition (1 Viewer)

Eh, I don't know. I was at the game. He broke two big gains, but Willie was running at will on them. He also got stuffed 3 times at the GL (eventually overturned on review but still he didn't look as sharp up the middle as Willie). He has some value as a handcuff, but I still think FWP is going ot get the majority of carries. Interestingly, Najeh was pulled twice when they got into the red zone.

D Hagan WR Miami
Saban said today he thought Booker might be back this week. Just an FYI.
I own him in a couple of leagues. He dropped a few very catchable and critical passes. He was drawing the weakest coverage. The kid had a good game but there was a little more to it than the stats would indicate. He was Harrington's easiest and or most likely read/throw. Not trying to pick the gnat #### out of the pepper but temper expectations in redrafts espeically if Booker is coming back.

Scouring my various leagues I see the most value emerging at WR, some or all of the following are available:

michael clayton - nice things developing with new QB, team is improving a bit

Sammie parker - team can't run like they use to

brandon jones - vince will still be erratic, constrains his upside

D Mason - may be dropped in some leagues, play the mild bounceback

Troy Williamson - has been a bust so far, but may have a few big games in the tank

Gotta agree. If there not up 20+ points he doesn't get all those touches IMO.

Chris Perry should be activated this week vs. the Panthers. He's probably gone in many leagues, but if you're in a pt/rec league and he's sitting there, get him asap.

If Lundy has been dropped in your league and you have the stomach for a Texans RB, then read this --

From Rotoworld:

Wali Lundy-RB- Texans Oct. 16 - 10:14 pm et

Texans coach Gary Kubiak wants to get RB Wali Lundy involved in the offense again.

Ron Dayne and Samkon Gado aren't getting it done, so the Texans will turn back to Lundy. "It is obvious right now that we have to give the kid a chance to come back and play some more ... We’re going to keep searching with those guys until somebody steps up and plays extremely well," Kubiak said. Chasing Texans runners hasn't paid off this year, but Lundy is worth a look in most leagues to see what happens. It wouldn't surprise us if he starts this week.

The entire running game is worthless IMO.

Well... I wasn't trying to sell it. I was just putting it out there. That's why I said "If Lundy has been dropped in your league and you have the stomach for a Texans RB..."

I know it's the Bears DT but I've read this before elsewhere and now I'm seeing it for myself ... but Arrington sure does look more explosive than Edge. I know there won't be a switch but I could imagine more PT down the stretch. Just MAYBE he still has dynasty value if not of course the injury factor for Edge. For larger leagues only obviously.

A 1.5 YPC is just ungood regardless of the defense. For the record, 62 total yards minus a fumble in 37 touches isn't many more fantasy points than JJA managed in 3 touches with 33 yards.

In a standard scoring system that's 4.2 vs 3.3 points and JJA actually wins in a PPR. I'm not saying to cut Edge for JJA but Edge has a 2.7 YPC on the season after this game vs the 3.3 YPC that got JJA benched last year.

The 3rd option here is that the OL is just that bad and maybe once fixed JJA's dynasty value can jump.

Gotta disagree. There aren't any starting RBs on the wire. This kid plays and he looks like a monster out there. The Steelers run the ball ton. Parker gets dinged and you've got a solid RB here. I'm swapping Buckhalter out for him.

As a FWP owner I'm hoping he slides to me this week (9th waiver selection). Up until now I wasn't sure who would be the back to have if Parker got hurt. Looks pretty clear now that it's Najeh.

Must be getting late in the year or something. This is the first week where I don't see anyone worth a pick up.

"when" ahman gets hurt again i like noah herron. michael clayton and parker are good calls too. boller and campbell can hardly do worse than mcnair and brunella.

Talent can produce in this scheme, Domanick Davis did alright here til injuries.

He dropped two passes. The first would have been a first down, the second was well defended and would have been a great 30 yard grab for a TD. The other 4 targets were not catchable, including one where he was held.Miami is so thin at WR that one Marcus Vick just got promoted. Saban wants Wes Welker used less on either offense or special teams so that he doesn't get worn out. Vick should do the special teams, and once Hagan proves his mettle as a big target Welker can go back and return all the kicks again. I'm not saying Hagans is going to get the start, but Harrington likes him. As the #3, he'll get on the field. Good enough for a late season pickup.

I thought they were running the Broncos scheme? I doubt much of Capers crap is left.

For those of you using a defense by committee, may want to grab the Giants now. The next 2 weeks are home vs Bucs and Texans.

I might get blasted for this one but Joey Harrington might be a nice bye week replacement because he is going up against Green Bay. I know I may pick him up to replace Bulger this week

Read my mind. I think this could be a solid pick for this one week.

Is Chris Perry going to be activated? Could be interesting with C. Henry out and K. Washington hurt.
He was activated from the PUP list...
He hasn't been activated yet. But it's looking like he will be activated by Sunday. I suspect he'll be used split out given the injuries they have right now at WR.
This says that he was removed from the PUP list...http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/

If you were sleeping on Lundy, wake up, because this new revalation was splashed on the pages of Sportsline.com today. The board is great though, getting word out early enough to act.

Yeah Lundy's gotta be the #1 priority. Any starting RB has value in fantasy football. After that Id say Parker MaClayton and MiClayton in that order

from the comments i read-it doesn't seem totally clear that lundy is going to be the man.

he might get more PT but it doesn't sound like kubiak is just handning things over to him.

is he worth picking up? yeah. but i think he has a little too much hype right now.

Im not saying to drop someone imprtant for him but hes def worth picking up if you got the spot.

:goodposting:Love the fact that, once again, Ron Dayne proves he's a tease for a start or two, anmd then back onto the garbage pile (FF and real life).Temper the Lundy Love - Gado will get a lot of touches if the team is looking to go a "different way."I like Davenport - if only to keep him away from the FWP owner. What else are you using your RB5 spot for? (well, I have LT, so Turner is my RB5, but you get the point)Mark Clayton is a guy I am taking a hard look at acquiring - even with McNair,. he could be a valuable addition, and potentially an upgrade at WR5 from Engram for me. Engram's illness and Branch's emergence scare me. Claytoin's got 42 targets (7 per game - including 11 targets form McNair in week 3). 25 catches - he had 10 targets and 5 catches from Boller, but, with a much more accurate passer in McNair, Clayton caught 62.5 % of his targets. He's also only 2 targets behind Mason on the year. Engramn may average slightly more per game (esp, in PPR leagues) and he may be more consistent, but Clayton has MUCH higher upside and a MUCH higher ceiling for opprtunities.Alright - thanks guys for allowing me this forum to help me convince myself to p/u Clayton for my WR5 spot.

From what I've read he is going to be a returner because they cut Buchanon.

Is there something else out there that states he will see carries?

Wali Lundy has resumed practicing with the Texans' first-team offense.

Coach Gary Kubiak was impressed with the rookie in practice Wednesday and it appears he has a strong chance to start. Lundy faces a tough matchup vs. Jacksonville in Week 7, but Houston's schedule gets easier late in the season. Lundy is worth adding in all fantasy leagues.
