Waiver Wire Gems - Week 8 Edition (1 Viewer)

How about a guy like Jurevicius? He is coming back from an injury and he put up a pretty good game last week. They have the Jets this week and it is not like they prevented the Lions from putting up some good points. A veteran who can bridge the bye-weeks to the playoffs has some value. :dunno:
picked up joe last week off the WW..a little shaky with Clevelands mean sch.but he's not a bad choice in a way.

Seneca Wallace is downright horrible. He is very inaccurate, is often high with passes over the middle, and makes poor decisions with the football. If you need to pick up one or the other, go with Batch.
Meh, that stuff doesn't matter as much for a guy who makes plays with his feet. If Hass is out for a few weeks as is reported, then he's the guy; a knee injury could keep him out longer though. Batch is only good for one, maybe two weeks.

with Jennings down I needed a WR and picked JJ up. Couldn't ask for a better matchup - NYJ at home..

(Marc - Totally off the subject..nice avatar - just watched Young Frankenstein for the first time the other night. )
 I probbaly watched that movie for the "first" time around 20 years ago - probably more..
Yeah, I'd say closer to 30 years ago for me. Just watched it again about 6 months ago. Definately a classic!Going through the 007 phase again. Picked up 17 James Bond VHS tapes for $16 on ebay. Gotten through about 10 of them so far. I love the old classic movies.

Back to WW pickups. Bledsoe/Plummer owner here. Picked up Alex Smith several weeks ago for insurance. I'm thinking about getting Batch for a one week fill in since Alex has to face Da Bears this week.

If the Derrick Mason owner panicked and dropped him over the bye week, he could be worth revisiting this week vs. NO. NO is currently giving up the most average fantasy points per game to WR1s this season (at least based on my league's scoring).

For those suggesting starting Lundy, beware.....from the Texans website

=====================

A start for Lundy?: Speaking of Lundy, the rookie running back had a breakout performance Sunday, totaling well over 100 yards of total offense, while scoring his first NFL touchdown.

But it may not have been enough to push him into the starting lineup. Samkon Gado got the start Sunday in the backfield, but didn’t come close to matching Lundy’s productivity. Ron Dayne was inactive against the Jaguars, but Kubiak maintained that all three will continue to see time, and he would not name Lundy the starter.

“Definitely, he’s going to play,” Kubiak said when asked if Lundy would start Sunday against the Titans in Nashville . “We’re going to continue to play guys. I don’t get too caught up in the starting thing. We’re going to continue to play a lot of players and continue to search with this football team.

“If you’re part of the 53-(man roster) on this football team, then you’re going to get a chance to prove you can help us win. Let me say that. Did Wali step up to the plate yesterday and play well? Yeah, he did, but we have Ronnie (Ron Dayne) and we’re going to continue to give Ronnie looks, and we’ve got Chris Taylor on the practice squad, who I think, before this year is out, you’re going to get to see him play some. But we’re going to continue to look at those players. I think we’re going to continue to get better because we are playing a lot of guys.”

Coachspeak for "I found my guy in Lundy but don't want any pressure on him"...sure he is going to give Ron Dayne a bunch of looks in the game on Sunday...please. This team has been awful running the ball. Suddenly they have pulled off 2 wins the past 3 weeks and have kickstarted the running game.

Hopefully Kubiak realizes that Dayne would've busted out for like 200 given the same opportunity this past weekend.

Did you consider Ruvell Martin?RTsports doesn't even have him listed in the available player pool, though.

I don't know if it was an incomplete quote or what it was in response to, but fascinating that he didn't mention Gado there.

In case you've missed all the Romo threads, it's now official that Parcells is giving Tony Romo the start for the Cowboys in Carolina. Whether he does well enough to keep the job over Bledsoe is still to be decided of course.

VIKES HOMERS!!!

with all the injuries to MIN's WR corps, which one do you think is going to make the bigger impact in the passing game Billy McMullen or newly acquired, speed demon Bethel Johnson?

TE David Martin is a decent pickup in deep leagues. Given the Packers problems at WR, Martin will get more opportunities.
yeah I've been looking at him. The prob for me is he and Franks seem to share the rock, 4 targets each last week IIRC. Still though, I started Kris Wilson in one league so I guess I'll have to consider Martin

Down the road.

DeAngelo Williams

Matt Jones

Vernon Davis

These guys will be coming back from injuries in the coming weeks and worth a good look at.

Ruvell Martin is in the RTSports player pool. Picked him up today.
My fault. He's listed when you go to add/drop, but he's not listed in the top players pages, which I assumed listed everyone.
