Waiver Wire options: Danny Woodhead or Deion Branch (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have been going through a lot of the postings, and it seems like Deion Branch's addition to the Patriots is actually generating very little buzz. Purely from a FFL (non-PPR) standpoint, though, which guy would you value higher: Deion Branch or Danny Woodhead?

From what I have seen, Danny Woodhead looks like Kevin Faulk V2.0: he is doing the critical dirty work of moving the chains, blocking, and being Brady's escape valve. He might get 10 touches per game...or he might get 2, you just never know.

In contrast, Deion Branch is enigma to me right now. Sure, he was pretty good at stretching the field 2 - 3 years ago. But do you think that he is going to be able to get back to that point? In addition, is he going to play more of a developmental role for the younger guys or is he a real threat down the sideline?

Thanx in advance for your thoughts!

This week's wire seems pretty meh.

Woodhead will prob by a fan favorite but it's tough to be fantasy relevant with only about 10 touches a game.

Branch just has too much competition for catches.

Unless Branch all of a sudden regains his speed, I like Woodhead and it isn't even close. I believe Branch's days of being a key part of any offense are long gone. I'd predict an awful lot of weeks of 3 receptions for 25 yards for Mr. Branch. Woodhead on the other hand is like lightning in a bottle. He's also not going to be a huge part of the offense, but he has scored two weeks in a row. I'd have to say that Woodhead get's about 5-7 touches a game. More touches equal more opportunities.
