Hi Jeff,

I've got a bunch of players going against Baltimore this week. I probably can't find a better option at TE than Daniels, but I'm wondering if I can do better at RB and WR. Standard scoring, non-PPR:

Would you start Slaton (vs. BAL) over any of these RBs?

Jacobs (@PHI)

Faulk (vs. BUF)

Rice (@HOU)

Would you start Andre Johnson (vs. BAL) over either of these WRs?

Colston (@ATL)

Edwards (vs. DEN)

Thanks!
I think I would play both Texans ...
Hmm, so which WR would you replace with Andre Johnson? Both Colston and Edwards have really good matchups, but both are still question marks, IMO.
I would sit Edwards as I suspect the Broncos to double and triple team him. But, I am also interested to see how healthy Colston is, and if he is in shape.

winslow.....or scaife.......is it a safe play for winslow?Need two: calvin with a new qb, leaning wayne and other cHoice is cotch.thanks Jeff
At TE, I would go with Winslow tonight. Scaife playing Chicago is not a good matchup. At WR, I would start Cotch for sure. Great matchup vs Rams. Calvin vs Wayne is tough. I might lean toward sitting Wayne. They play Baltimore and the Colt offense has not looked good lately. But, I could see someone wanting to see what Culpepper does for a week before relying on Calvin, especially against a desperate Jaguar team.

Makes sense. The only conciliation is that Edwards plays at home and Colston on the road, but I can see how Edwards is risky if Denver sells out to shut him down.I'm still pretty worried about Slaton going up against Baltimore's D. I just picked up Jamaal Charles off of waivers, and he gets to play SD. Is he a safer start?

Charles vs Slaton is a close one. Slaton is probably a good bet for 75 total yards and little chance for a TD. Charles is a better bet for a TD, but lower upside.

Make that two great calls. Edwards was invisible against Denver. (Too bad I had Cleveland winning in my pick'em league. :coffee: )

10 team non-PPR league

1 per 10 rushing

1 per 25 passing

6 per TD

I've been waffling on RB2 this week, as both are tough rushing matchups:

Forte vs. TEN

or

Jacobs @ PHI

Will Jacobs' bruising style outperform Forte's receiving yardage?

Who has more TD opportunity?

Thanks in advance!

This is a tough one for me. I think I would go with Forte since he gets so many catches and yards through the air. Each prob has a 40-50% chance at a TD. But, I think Forte has a better shot at 80-100 total yards.

Howdy - it's me again. Although your advice has been much appreciated, my recent attempts to improve my team have not gone anywhere (trade rejected).

But, a trade happy guy in our league has landed Colston. He has expressed an interest in Ryan Grant before. I have only played Grant twice this year and do not forsee him getting any time (unless he starts blowing up). I am not planning on keeping him next year as I can only keep five.

So question is would Colston be worth the gamble if I can get him for Grant? I would not keep Colston either (high salary).

Here are the particulars about the league and the respective rosters:

12 team auction / partial keeper / start 1 QB / 2 RB / 2 WR OR 1 RB and 3 WR / 1 TE / 1 K / 1 Def

.5ppr / 6pts TD / bonus pts for yardage

My Roster QB - Schaub / Cutler RB - SJax / Turner / Grant / Hightower / Norwood WR - B Marshall / Calvin / Avery / V Jax / Hester TE - Gates K - Pratter Def - Titans (Underlined my prospective keepers)

His Roster - QB - Campbell / Warner RB - MJD / Cedric Benson / Fast Willie WR - Chambers / Colston / Welker / TE - Cooley - He has more but a pretty weak roster, so not listing. He is looking to rebuild his team for next year.

If you thought I should get Colston, would it be worth overspending for him? If so who would you add with Grant?

Thanks for the help!

I like Colston, but I would not offer a ton. I might offer Grant and Hester. The other owner needs a RB with Parker out this week. You will not miss Grant, even with the SJax injury, since turner and hightower are doing well.

Garrard vs Ryan is close. I think I would go with Garrard, only because the Saints have had the bye week to prepare for Atlanta. I have a feeling that Detroit makes this close or wins, making Garrard throw some. On defense, I think I would go with Miami. Seattle has been horrible when traveling to the east coast. Check the giant and bills games. The trip from seattle to miami has to be a long trip, and they start seneca wallace. Both teams are good plays this week. I just do not expect shaun hill to turn the ball over as much as JTO did.

I'm in a situation where I'm all but forced to start Rashied Davis this week in a PPR league. My only other options are Reggie Brown or Roscoe Parrish. Rashied has been scoring well the last few weeks but I have a few concerns.

What impact, if any will Brandon Lloyd's return have on Rashied's playing time?

What impact will Rex Grossman have on Rashied's number of targets?

Should I be thinking of looking at one of my other options? I know Reggie Brown got a td last week but that was his only catch. Roscoe has been very unimpressive this year as well.

The easy ones are Westbrook, Fargas Smith, and Coles. Willis scares me with his health and the presence of Rice and McClain. Norwood will be good for 8-12+ PPR points, but Fargas is safer. QB comes down to Ryan vs Sage for me. Even if Ben plays, Indy is good vs pass. I think I would go with Sage. At flex, Norwood vs a WR. By elimination, I think it comes down to Curtis vs Norwood. I think I like Curtis. It is a risk, but Harrison and Holt have been disappointing. Curtis showed signs of life last week.

Chicago plays tenn so the matchup is not great. But, I think I would still play davis. He might have a 4-6 catch day. It will be very tough for the Bears to run, so they will have to pass. Until we see something change, I am not a fan of Brown's. On Grossman, last year, he looked down the field more than the short stuff, especially to berrian. The good news for Davis owners is that Tenn does a great job against the top opposing wr, but not so good against the others. last week, driver had a huge game while jennings was relatively quiet since finnegan was guarding him.

Hola,

Should I trade Joseph Addai for Aaron Rodgers? I have been plagued by injuries in the QB position (began the season with Hasselbeck and Kitna, then picked up Orton). This is a redraft league, and this is the rest of my team:

QB: Shaun Hill

RB: Thomas Jones

RB: Joseph Addai

WR: Randy Moss

WR: Dwayne Bowe

WR: Eddie Royal

TE: Anthony Fasano

D/ST: Ravens

RB: Earnest Graham

WR: Wes Welker

WR: Jerricho Cotchery

TE: Jason Witten

D/ST: Bears

I have P. Manning who is my every week starter usually. I have M. Ryan as my number 2. I am having trouble deciding who to start this week as Manning has a tough matchup (@Pitt) while Ryan's matchup is pretty good (vs NO).

FYI, In my scoring, Ints/Fum are = to TDs so turnovers hurt.

Any thoughts?

QB Scoring

10 Pass Yds = 1pt

TDs = 6pts

INT = -6pts

Fum = -6pts

25 Completios = Bonus

300 Pass yds = Bonus

i think i would go with ryan since he has 9 tds to 5 picks on the season while peytons has 12 tds vs 9 ints. considering the matchup difference, it looks like ryan is the better option

Jeff,

Quick opinion question. Due to recent trade I picked up Colston.

Question is which two receivers do I start this week?

Colston @ ATL

Cotchery v STL

Bowe @ SD

Thanks (once again) for the thoughts.

I think I might sit Bowe. I have Colston and Cotch as premier matchups this week. All three are good options, so hard to go wrong. But, I think I would sit the guy with the inexperienced QB playing on the road against a team needing a win to stay one back of Denver.

Out of these 4 WR's I need to start 3.

Scoring: .1 pt. for every 1 yard, 6 pts. per TD, kick return yards .025 per yard, and punt return yards .05 per yard.

Players:

Dwayne Bowe WR Chiefs

Donnie Avery WR Rams

Mark Bradley WR Chiefs

Steve Breaston WR Cardinals

Ugh....after going 7-0 I've lost the last three and haven't scored more than 80 points in each game.

Here is my team:

QB: Eli and Favre (Favre is killing me)

RB: MBIII, Portis, Forte, Slaton, Benson, Torain (oops)

WR: TJ Housh, Calvin Johnson, Burress, Cotchery, Avery (ugh)

K: Prater

D: Steelers D

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 WR/RB flex, K, D in this 10 team traditional scoring yahoo league.

I'm dropping Torain as someone dropped Kevin Smith after suffering injuries to Orton and Big Ben.

I'm not sure what to do with Avery but the best QBs available are:

Quinn, Cassell, Garcia, and Thigpen...do you think I should drop Favre?

My other problem is that my 7th position starter has been killing me. I'll start Portis, MBIII, Forte, Burress (although he has been sucking it up), Calvin, and TJ Housh pretty much every week. But deciding between Cotchery, Slaton, Benson, and K Smith if I can get him has been unsuccessful.

What do you think?

Defeintely drop Torain for Smith. I think your last starter will be fine alternating between he, Cotch or Slaton, depending on matchup. I do not think I would dump Favre yet. He was able to have a soft week because the Jets were up big early. I think your team will be fine, but much depends on your QBs. You were hurt this week with your two top Rbs, and a

12 team H2H auction Keeper. Keep 3 players for max of 3 years. Can keep unlimited number of rookies(salary depends on round taken 10 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, etc)

Scoring:

1 pt/25 yds passing

6 pts/rushing td

6 pts/catching td

1 pt/10 yrd receiving

1 pt/10 yds rushing

Basic scoring for DEF and K

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR(TE's also WR), 1 K, 1 DEF.

QB- Schaub($1), Collins($1), Rosenfels($1)

RB- Lynch($48), Chris Johnson(5 years at 10/yr), Lewis($22), Maurice Morris($4), M. Bush, Jason Wright, Jerome Harrison, and Brad Jackson(all for $1)

WR- Moss($40), Calvin Johnson($20), Holmes($16), Chris Cooley($11) D. Mason($3), R. Brown($7),Sidney Rice(4)

Chris Henry($1)

K- Feely($1)

DEF- Jets($1)

Rookie Squad: Malcolm Kelly, Early Doucet, Josh Johnson

So, I had a rough start to the season but I might just be in a tie for first place in my division after this week. The trade dealine is the 15th and I think I need QB help the most. One guy has Rodgers($3) up for sale and he has a great playoff schedule although he is an injury concern. The same owner has Ronnie Brown who has a great playoff schedule as well. Him and Lynch would be a nice 1-2 punch but I do have Chris Johnson(do they rest him though?)

Here are some of my options:

Option 1- Rodgers($3) for Holmes($16) and a second round rookie pick. Personally, I think he is asking for a bit much, straight up for Holmes should be enough. I do like Holmes and he is cheap but so is Rodgers.

Options 2- Trade either Lynch($48) or Chris Johnson($10) and Holmes($16) plus rookie pick(3rd or 4th rd) for Ronnie Brown and Rodgers. I hate to give up Chris Johnson or Lynch. Although Lynch cost me a lot, that price might be a bargain next year.

I'm not sure what he would want for just Brown but I think my priority here is QB but the asking price is a bit much. Sure, Rodgers is cheap but Holmes is too. I like that I have Rice for cheap as a possible keeper(keep 3) or is he considered a keeper?

He needs a RB. I would offer him Slaton and Favre for whichever QB he wants to give up. He could also use a WR. Add Cotch if need be. The difference at QB is larger than your 7th spot, imo.

He needs a RB. I would offer him Slaton and Favre for whichever QB he wants to give up. He could also use a WR. Add Cotch if need be. The difference at QB is larger than your 7th spot, imo.
yeah that's what I was thinking as well. Thanks!I just picked up Kevin Smith and Antionio Bryant (released Torain and Avery).

I think you stick with Jake and hope they throw more. The big difference was the way OAK shut down Smith, which took away Jake's big plays.

RB's

I have Reggie Bush @KC - MTurner vDEN- CJohnson @ JAC - RRice @ NYJ I would start Turner and CJohnson at RB, with bush third.

On the wire -- B Green-Ellis v JETS & Larry Johnson v NE will be eased back into things

(Who do you like Better Rice or Green-Ellis or LJ down the road?) L Johnson

DEF

I have CHI @ GB & JAC v TEN

On the wire -- ATL v DEN - INDY v HOU - NE v NYJ - SF v STL? (Do you like anyone better than the JAGS?) Yes, I like a couple better. Indy and NE are better options. They each play QBs that will toss picks. I think I would go with Indy playing against Sage and the Texans.

TEAM 2

Hey Jeff, need some advice

12 team league, total points

1pt/15 yds rush

1pt/10 yds receiving

1pt/50 yds passing

6pts all TD's

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, DEF, K

QB-Cutler, Rosenfels, Hasselback

RB- Westbrook, Chris Johnson, Earnest Graham, Jonathon Stewart

WR- Fitz, Roy Williams, Colston, Walter, Anthony Gonzalez

TE- Winslow

DEF- NYJ

K- Lindell

Looking to add some RB and WR depth here. Thinking of dropping Rosenfels, his interceptions are killing me, I have Cutler anyways and if Hasselback comes back he has some nice matchups. I am also thinking of cutting ties with Stewart, he has been inconsistent and is injury prone, mistake?

So for RB's there is:

P. Hillis

Derrick Ward

Dominic Rhodes

Edge(somehow)

Felix Jones

McFadden

So, will Hillis be the starting back, nice start this week against ATL this week. I like both Ward and Rhodes. Rhodes looks like the better back in Indy and they have a great schedule although their running game has never really got going this year. Ward usually always gets 10 touches and we might see that workload increase because he Giants may rest Jacobs for the playoffs.

For WR's there is:

Camarillo

Ginn JR.

Nate Washington

Toomer

Ike Hilliard

Malcolm Floyd

I like the Miami receivers but which one? So should I pick up one RB and one WR or pick up Ward and Rhodes or Hillis and who should I drop?(Stewart and Rosenfels). I will have to pay attention to the TB backfield situation this week and see how serious the injury is to Graham. This league has a limited number of moves and I have 6 left. Currently in 2nd place, 16 pts out of first. Thanks

Since you have Cutler, I might look at dropping both other QBs, and keeping Stewart. Williams has had a tough time staying healthy during his career. You WRs are better than those available. I would pick up Ward and Rhodes (but keep an eye on the health of felix and mcfadden). Hopefully, you would never have to start one of those QBs. If so, there are probably better options on the waiver wire. For this week, your starter are fairly easy.CutlerWestbrook, JohnsonFitz, Colston, either Walter or GonzoWinslow

Also Slaton or Jones-Drew this week?

Redraft....playoffs weeks 14 and 15

Hey Jeff, this is an easy and pretty silly question. Dynasty league (main contender this year), which two kickers should I keep here for the rest of the season:

R.Gould

N.Folk

M.Bryant

G.Hartley

One of them is a FA in my league, so just rank these 4 guys? For some reason I'm having trouble deciding which to keep and it's driving me nuttss (and clearly shouldn't be doing this to me).

Jeff,

I'll save you the rosters in this one. It's simple. 12 man dynasty PPR, non-IDP.

For a top contending team, with Schaub/Rosenfels, S. Hill and Palmer at QB, would you consider a late 1st round rookie pick a fair price to pay for Kurt Warner?

Side question, do you see him signing a longer deal? I'm never one to mortgage away picks for a one-year player, but could he have much more dynasty value than we all assume right now?

I think that is a fair price for Warner. If it helps in the playoffs, all worth it. I would start with 1st for warner/2nd ans see what happens. I do not have a good feel for warner's contract yet. He is older so it is prob not prudent to expect more than the 2009 season ... assuming he can get a contract done.

10 team, no ppr, Yahoo standard scoring.

1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, K, DEF/ST

This is my first year in FF. I'm currently in first at 8-2 and have got,

QB Brees, Warner

RB LT, CJ3, McGahee, Grant, Rhodes

WR Colston, Evans, Coles, Breaston, Avery, Mark Bradley

TE Scheffler

K Prater

DEF/ST Pittsburgh

I think I could go all the way with this team, (as long as I get better performances out of Evans, Coles and CJ3 than last week!), but it's kind of a waste having the 2 excellent QB's. There are a couple of really good teams right behind me. Would you move a QB and what would you target in return?

Thanks!

I would only trade if I could get a top notch WR in return. If you hold Warner, you keep him away from others. So, there is no reason to give him for little. It looks like your team's only need is t WR. Warner should bring almost any WR. Good luck.

Should i start Dustin Keller @ New England, or Todd Heap @ New York Giants?
