Hey Jeff - Trust is all well with you and yours! Good to be back in FF season. Would appreciate your opinion on this potential trade offer.12 team auction league / start 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR ( or 1 RB 3 WR) 1 TE 1 K 1 DEF / .5 PPR the rest is pretty standard scoring.I messed up this last Saturday at my draft and did not get my second WR that I needed. I would have had to overpay and the available #1 WR's went early in the draft and I chocked and held onto my $.Anyways there is a guy that is weak at RB and he also has Randy Moss. I think I may have to somewhat overwhelm him to get Moss as he has a pretty good man crush on him. I am going to list the significant players on our rosters and then would like your opinion on potential trades or should I just hold. His Team:QB - Rogers, Campbell RB - Reggie Bush, Hightower, Ray RiceWR - Moss, Ward, Berrian, Holt, HesterTE - Cooley, OlsenMy Team:QB - SchaubRB - Turner, Pierre, R Grant, D McFadden (all handcuffs besides Grants)WR - Calvin, Cotchery, K Walter, J MorganTE - O Daniels, J FinleyLike I said, if I have a chance, I think I would have to overwhelm him with an offer. Worth noting, to keep Moss for next year he would cost $41 and to keep my backs would be Turner $16, Pierre $20, Grant $30, McFadden $35. I won the league last year and so I would rather go for it this year again, so if the deal is right I would move anyone necessary to get it done.
To get Moss, It would prob cost you Grant, McFadden, and possibly Morgan. That is not a terrible deal, but leaves you thin at RB. Another option might be to try to get Ward on the cheap. Maybe target, Ward, Driver, Mason, etc. The old guys are cheap. Good luck

Hi Jeff!

10 Team 10 Player keeper league. 1 per 10 yards, 6 per TD with distance TD bonuses. I was just offered Avery, Bess and a 2010 2nd rounder (rookie/FA likely early 2nd) for my Marshall and Meachem. My starters are Fitz and AJ and my main backup is Holmes. Do I stick with the upside in Marshall and Meachem or take Avery and Bess and hope for good things with the 2010 2nd rounder? My 10 keepers next year would likely be Brees, Peterson, S. Jackson, Barber, F. Jones, Rice, Fitz, Andre Johnson, Witten with one open spot for either Marshall, Avery or Addai. thoughts?

Thank you for your time!

I would hold tight for now. Bess will not help you. At best, he is the slot WR in Miami. You hardly can rely on him as a starter. I would hold off on Marshall for now, just to see what happens. While I think it is most likely we will see him stay in Denver, I think he should easily outproduce Avery. The chances for a long suspension seem long to me. Also, you could sell Marshall higher once he comes back. This is for a bench spot now, so i think you can afford to wait a little bit.Good luck.

Jeff,

Jeff, hopefully all is well with you and I am ready for another exciting year of FF.

This year I am in a 14 team ppr redraft league...

Points are as follows:

6 pts for all TDs (Rushing, Recieving, and Passing)

20 passing yds/pt

10 rushing yds/pt

10 receiving yds/pt

30 return yds/pt

1 reception/pt

-3 pts/INT

-2 pts/Fumble lost

We start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF

Roster Maximums by position: 2 QBs, 4 WRs, 4 RBs, 2 TEs, 2 Ks, 2 Defs

I've got the 8th pick in a normal serpentine draft, and the guys that I draft with generally go RB heavy in the early rounds. I've been using the draft dominator and have tweaked the settings to better follow the tendencies of my league.

I am struggling with what direction I want to go with early and what surprise players left on the board will cause me to switch that theory.

Basically if I can't get one of these 5 RBs I feel like I should go Larry Fitz or Randy Moss in the 1st round

ADP

MJD

Steven Jackson

Matt Forte

Deangelo

Do you agree? If not, who would be the last RB you would see go before going WR in round 1.08? Is LT on that list?

I've done some mock drafts and if I take Fitz or Moss in RD1.08 I am in this range of players with my RD2.07 pick:

RB - Kevin Smith, Darren McFadden, Clinton Portis (seems to always go the pick before me)

WR - Steve Smith, Reggie Wayne, Roddy White, Greg Jennings

QB - Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers

The dropoff appears to be the largest for the RBs. If I go QB or WR in RD 2, I'm really hurting for RB. If I go with Kevin Smith I feel like I am reaching into the bottom of a tier to get him...Is Kevin Smith the real deal this year or is this a mirror image of Kevin Jones a few years ago after he blew up in the final 8 games of the previous year?

On the flip side it appears I have a good chance of landing Matt Forte in RD1.08. I really like him in the offense with Cutler. If I take Forte, I am in the same boat of players for my RD2.07 as before.

In both cases if I go WR/RB or RB/WR I should have a shot at getting Aaron Rodgers in RD3. This seems like the best value pick since the other options are as follows:

RB: Pierre Thomas, Thomas Jones, Joseph Addai (drafted him last year and swore to never do it again)

WR: Mr. 8-5, Housh, Braylon, and Anthony Gonzalez

TE: Whitten, Gonzalez, Gates

Is Rodgers or even possibly Peyton the right pick in this situation or is it better to shore up the WR or RB slots?

After this round it becomes a crap shoot. There are always a couple of guys that screw up their draft which leads to nice surprises. Any help you can give on the 1st 3 rounds would be very helpful. I just always get the feeling that I am either reaching for a guy or taking an over valued guy every pick this year.

Thanks again Jeff, have a good one,

-Eric

like McClaoI think Edwards is worth more in a PPR dynasty. I wold try to give a RB like McClain and get a startable WR back in the deal. That is the only way I would do the deal

Hey Jeff,

I am off to see my Saints play Miami this evening, can't wait! One week until it all counts!

I decided to stand pat with Hixon until after at least tonights game.

I keep reading about Hakeem Nicks moving up, so he has my atention.

Donnie Avery worries me with his foot, he still hasn't played, then there is Laurent and finally Bulger's multiple issues that scare me!

Josh Morgan has been talked about, but I think Gore will carry the ball a lot along with catching it and then there is Crabtree who will sign and start at some point...but Singletary wants to run, run, run!

Nate Burleson looks like he may be a sweet option in Seattle opposite Housh

This is my #5 WR slot...Hixon sits behind Calvin Johnson/R White/J Cotchery/D Mason......I need a guy at this spot with potential.

Going to see the results from tonight's games and wait to see what you think as well before I make my final decision....

Thanks and enjoy some FOOTBALL!!!

Burleson should not be mentioned with these. Morgan is fine, and so is Avery. Both are their teams' WR1. Hixon vs Nicks is interesting, especially the way Eli spreads the ball around. I would still say Avery just to get him before others when he is healthy.

Thoughts on my draft please. Drafted 9th in a 10 team league. Standard scoring (non-ppr) starting 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 Flex, K, D.QB: McNabbRB: LT2, Jackson, Lynch, Moreno, D Brown, A Bradshaw, L McCoyWR: R White, Colston, B Edwards, D Mason, C ChambersK: FolkD: GiantsI need a backup QB, but I'm going to try and wait to see which RB I should drop. Some dirty ******* took sproles in the 7th.The first couple of weeks will hurt with Lynch and Moreno concerns, but this is a 6 team playoff so I think I can afford a slow start.
you have a great team. You will be fine with Lynch/Moreno. Lynch will be back before the byes start. You should be starting four WRs since you have four good one. Then, Bradshaw, McCoy or Brown for other flex. You will be fine. For QB2, I would consider Vick after he comes off suspension. If something happened to McNabb, Vick should be better than anyone else you would get now.
Should I pick up Vick now or wait? Also for week one who would you pick for my final flex spot (currently going LT2, Jackson, WHite, COlston, Edwards, and Mason).

Miami and Washington are both good options most weeks. Wash has upgraded with Haynesworth while Miami has Porter and Jason Taylor going for sacks. I would use NO mainly at home against teams they should get up on. NO defense will surprise for a fantasy afterthoughtAre you saying you like Washington more than Mia and what week would you get NO

I think you did well. DWill and Moss are great picks. Also, Pierre Thomas could be huge again this year. I like Schaub, too. You should have a decent chance at the playoffs ... just need to avoid the injury bug.

Jeff,

I have a question. It may be a dumb one, but here goes. I'm in two leagues. Both have a side bet called MVP player. We have to predict which player on our roster will score the most fantasy points for the season. At the end of the season, the one that has the most points scored (assuming they chose they player as their MVP) wins. My gut says Aaron Rogers for the first, but on the other, I can't decide between Cutler, Moss or Jennings. Here are the top players from each team:

Team 1

Jay Cutler

R Moss

G Jennings

B Edwards

M Colston

L Johnson

T Jones

Team 2

A Rogers

W Welker

A Gonzalez

DeSean Jackson

MJD (JAX)

S Jackson (Rams RB)

D Hester

L Washington

Scoring is just basic scoring. QB 1 for 25, TD 6, RB/WR 1 for 10, TD 6

Who would you pick for each team? Thanks.

Can't wait for it all to start counting next week...the pre-season has me losing my mind and questioning myself like crazy....you know that is true!

So, first I apologize for driving you crazy!

I still can't pull the trigger on who to drop Domenik Hixon for:

Avery is a nice option but BULGER is my issue with him

Morgan is doing a nice job tonight with Shaun Hill - but what happens when Crabtree shows up?

Hakeem Nicks, the rookie has a connection with Eli and they seem to keep building on that..is he risky? I hopefully won't need him until at least week 5.

How about Coles opposite Ocho Cinco...can he be counted on kind of like Welker/ Lance Moore?

Nate Burleson in Seattle, Hasselbeck is supposedly good to go!

With Calvin Johnson/Roddy White/J Cotchery/D Mason......am I in as much trouble as I think at WR?

I keep reading too many different things especially about Avery/Morgan and Hicks.....I need to stop and end this insanity!!!

The season will be easy if I can get past this issue....rofl :)

ENJOY YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND JEFF!!! ;)

Jeff,

Can you rank the following rbs for redraft?

1 pt per 6yds rush/rec .5 ppr, distance scoring.

Fred Taylor

Cadillac

Leron McClain

Danny Ware

Correll Buckhalter

Mike Bell

Edgerrin James

Benjarvus Green-Ellis

Kevin Faulk

Sammy Morris

Chris Brown

And these for dynasty same scoring?

Brandon Jackson

Cadillac

Leron McClain

Danny Ware

Patrick Cobbs

Mike Bell

Benjarvus Green-Ellis

Justin Forsett

Jerome Harrison

Chauncy Washington

Thanks Jeff

Thanks for the info Jeff, This is what I ended up with as the 8th slot in the 14 team ppr league. You were right about Rogers, he was gone in RD 2...I was able to Land MJD with my first pick and in round 2 the big 4 QBs were gone so I went WR.

1. MJD (hopefully he won't be bothered by the leg bruise)

2. Reggie Wayne (1 slot away from getting Megatron)

3. Kevin Smith

4. Jason Witten

5. Baylon Edwards

6. Carson Palmer (Kicking myself for not taking Schaub)

7. Leon Washington

8. Derrick Mason

9. Chris Henry

10. Chester Taylor

11. Chicago Bears (rethinking this one, we don't get points for return yds and TDs for the Defense)

12. Jason Campbell

13. Randy McMichael

14. Kris Brown

I was wondering if I should pick up the phins or redskins or Saints defense for McMichael. What do you think?

Also the QB pool is basically obsolete at this point this is what's left:

Pat White

Marc Bulger

JaMarcus Russell

Culpepper/Stafford

Vince Young

Vick

If Palmer tanks again, I've got my eye on Vince Young. I think the Titans will need to score more points this season. The Titans defense without Albert Haynesworth is barely a top 20 defense, they may need to go to Young to open things up.

Thanks again Jeff,

Enjoy the holiday weekend.

Jeff, hopefully all is well with you and I am ready for another exciting year of FF.This year I am in a 14 team ppr redraft league...

20 passing yds/pt

10 rushing yds/pt

10 receiving yds/pt

30 return yds/pt

1 reception/pt

-3 pts/INT

-2 pts/Fumble lost

We start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF

Roster Maximums by position: 2 QBs, 4 WRs, 4 RBs, 2 TEs, 2 Ks, 2 Defs

I like your draft. Palmer should be fine. For the Defenses, NO has a great matchup vs Detroit this coming week. Miami is a better defense if you are playing them more than one week in a row. If flipping defenses every week, and playing matchups, NO is a good option this week. I do like your team a lot. Campbell as your backup is decent. You are in good shape at the QB position. Plus, you are set at rb/wr/and te.

Thanks for the info Jeff, This is what I ended up with as the 8th slot in the 14 team ppr league. You were right about Rogers, he was gone in RD 2...I was able to Land MJD with my first pick and in round 2 the big 4 QBs were gone so I went WR.1. MJD (hopefully he won't be bothered by the leg bruise)2. Reggie Wayne (1 slot away from getting Megatron)3. Kevin Smith4. Jason Witten5. Baylon Edwards6. Carson Palmer (Kicking myself for not taking Schaub)7. Leon Washington8. Derrick Mason9. Chris Henry10. Chester Taylor11. Chicago Bears (rethinking this one, we don't get points for return yds and TDs for the Defense)12. Jason Campbell13. Randy McMichael14. Kris BrownI was wondering if I should pick up the phins or redskins or Saints defense for McMichael. What do you think? Also the QB pool is basically obsolete at this point this is what's left:Pat WhiteMarc BulgerJaMarcus RussellCulpepper/StaffordVince YoungVickIf Palmer tanks again, I've got my eye on Vince Young. I think the Titans will need to score more points this season. The Titans defense without Albert Haynesworth is barely a top 20 defense, they may need to go to Young to open things up.Thanks again Jeff,Enjoy the holiday weekend.-Eric

Hey Jeff,

Still working on a trade for an upgrade at WR.

PPR - 6 point TD's for receiving and rushing - start 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 1 k, 1 def

My significant players - Schaub, Turner, R Grant, McFadden, Pierre, (all handcuffs accept for Grant), Calvin, K Walter, Cotchery, J Morgan, O Daniels

His significant players - Brady, Flacco, M Lynch, Slaton, Wells, DeSean, Burrelson, L Evans, C Henry

Anyways, he has offered to me M Lynch and DeSean for Grant. It seems like a fair trade, but I am not sure if DeSean (position I need the most help at) is that much of an upgrade for me. Is he? Do I do it or try and move Grant or one of my other RB's for a better WR?

I appreciate the help!

I think that is a GREAT deal for you. Lynch and Grant should be close and DJax is a top 20 ppr wr

Hey Jeff,

I have a couple of new names to bounce off of you at the WR spot....Limas Sweed/Earl Bennett over Avery/Morgan/Hixon?

Hey Jeff,

12 team H2H Keeper Auction League

$200 salary cap

2nd year of league

Keep 3 Keepers for max of 3 years. Can keep unlimited rookie squad members.

5 member taxi squad, salary depends on what round of rookie draft picked. eg. $10/5 years for 1st round, $5/4 years for second, etc

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

6 pts for all TD's, 1 pt/10 yard receiving/rushing

My Keepers are Randy Moss $40, Calvin Johnson $20, Chris Johnson $10-rookie squad keeper, Aaron Rodgers $3

So, I had $127 going into the draft. The draft really messed up. The software messed up, we should have had 5 more reserve spots. So, I budgeted for 20 roster spots total not counting the rookie squad. Problem is, the software only allowed us to get 15 spots. At the end of the draft I had $18 left over so I wish I spent more earlier. Even though $18 is a lot for my final 5 spots this really messed me up.

Anyways, here is my team including my keepers from last year

QB: Rodgers $3, Garrard $4

RB: LT $46, Chris Johnson $10, Thomas Jones $14(steal), Earnest Graham $6, Sammy Morris $1

WR/TE: Moss $40, Calvin Johnson $20, Donald Driver $14, Kevin Walter $8, Chris Chambers $8, Chris Cooley $4

K- Reed $1

DEF- GB $1

Rookie Squad: Josh Freeman, Percy Harvin, Malcolm Kelly, Javon Ringer, Early Doucet

So, with the extra money I could have gotten better WR/TE #3/4 but to be honest those players went for way too much. Adrian Gonzalez went for $25, crazy...Cotchery and Bryant went well over what they should have too. I tried to get Sproles but he went for $15, way too much. I got good value in Jones and Graham. I don't have much depth at WR. There is some players on the wire I can get. I could make a trade for a pretty good WR and still be under salary. What do you think overall? I am a little weak at WR 3/4 but I should be able to play matchups with the players I have. Depending on how Harvin and Malcolm do I might take them off my taxi squad.

So, the Boldin owner had a terrible draft and is starting to look towards next year already. Boldin is $21 and I could accomodate him and still be under the salary cap. Lots of people are inquiring about Boldin already. If I was to get him my team would have a good chance at winning. Due to the fact that my team would likely finish well, my resulting rookie pick for next year would be a late round 1 pick. The Boldin owner is aware of this and wants more than a 1st rounder for Boldin. He wants Percy Harvin and my first round rookie pick or possibly Rodgers at $3 and my first round rookie pick. It seems like a lot and I hate to give up Harvin but making the move would increase my chances of winning. What do you think? If I was to activate Harvin this year his salary would be $10/year for 5 years and I would have the option of making him my franchise player if I wanted to but I think I might make Chris Johnson my franchise player. Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance.

Update- The Boldin owner just made offer. Harvin and my first round rookie pick next year for Boldin. I have to take this right? The draft pick next year will likely be a late first rounder. The Hammy issue with Boldin worries me a bit though. I hate to give up Harvin but it might be worth it.

Hi Jeff

If you had to choose one which WR out of these 4 would you pick up as depth:

1. Mark Clayton

2. Greg Camarillo

3. Joey Galloway

4. Kevin Curtis

Any other possible sleepers?

Thanks....

Clayton. He is one Mason injury away from being startable. Galloway next. Looking only at who could start in fantasy

Hey, you should be in good shape in a 16 teamer. I think you have a very nice squad. Just be on the lookout for upside players on waiver, especially at rb and wr. Depth at those positions is tough in big leagues. Also. Henry is startable many weeks. With a break or two, you could be in great shape. Good job.

Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance.Update- The Boldin owner just made offer. Harvin and my first round rookie pick next year for Boldin. I have to take this right? The draft pick next year will likely be a late first rounder. The Hammy issue with Boldin worries me a bit though. I hate to give up Harvin but it might be worth it.
How long would you be able to keep Boldin? You had a good draft. Chambers is the only player I owuld look to trade. I just dont buy into him in that offense.
I can keep Boldin for this year and next. What do you think? Moss is expensive to keep for next year at $40. Boldin would be a nice alternative.

Hey Jeff,12 team H2H Keeper Auction League$200 salary cap2nd year of leagueKeep 3 Keepers for max of 3 years. Can keep unlimited rookie squad members.5 member taxi squad, salary depends on what round of rookie draft picked. eg. $10/5 years for 1st round, $5/4 years for second, etcStart 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF6 pts for all TD's, 1 pt/10 yard receiving/rushingMy Keepers are Randy Moss $40, Calvin Johnson $20, Chris Johnson $10-rookie squad keeper, Aaron Rodgers $3So, I had $127 going into the draft. I would do that deal ... I love Boldin, even with his injury risk

hey guys,

its my first time on the forum and the first time participating in a ppr league. I had pick 9 in a 12 team ppr league.

My roster:

Qb: matt ryan, flacco

Rb: chris johnson, slaton, rice, and felix jones

Wr: boldin, desean jackson, anthony gonzalez, andrew walter, and hixon

Te: john carlson and brent celek

K: hartley (saints)

Def: San diego

How would you rate this roster? the dallas and Ny jets def are on the waiver wire, should i drop any of these players to pick up one of those defenses? especially since merriman may get suspended. Also, should i start rice over chris johnson week one? kind of a silly question, but johnson is facing pittsburgh

Welcome to Footballguys.com. I would stick with SD defense until after the NYJ week 4, when Pace comes back from suspension. I love NYJ defense after he comes back. You have a very good team. It would be hard for me to tell you to sit Johnson, at least until we know what Rice's role will be. You did a good job on the draft. Oh, Hartley is suspended for first four weeks of season. Might look at Carney, who is starter in NO for now.

I do not know matchups yet, but I would take Moreno in week one if he is starting. I think you pick up Vick right before week one.
I still haven't decided on a starter yet. With the news about Cadillac being listed as the #1 back in Tampa, should I make a move to pick him up? And if so who do you recommend I drop?

I would stay away from Caddy. Who knows how much any of the RBs will play any given week.

I was thinking the same thing. The guy who had James Davis just dropped him for Caddy. I find that interesting since he has Jamal Lewis as well.

thanks...good thing you mentioned it cuz i had no idea hartley was suspended. i just put a waiver claim in for john kasay (old reliable). also glad i used my last pick on a kicker unlike some of my fellow league participants. i ll look into ny jets def after week 4 as well. btw, some dummy in our league actually drafted the denver defense.

you have a good team. good luck this year.

Hi Jeff

In a PPR league which flex player would you rather have:

WR-Dominic Hixon

RB-Mike Bell

TE-Kevin Boss

Thanks...

Hi JeffIn a PPR league which flex player would you rather have:WR-Dominic Hixon RB-Mike BellTE-Kevin BossThanks...
prob depends on your team, but Hixon is a much better PPR flex player most weeks. Bell has value until/only when Pierre &/or Bush is hurt. Hixon can easily be a top 25 wr this season

Hi Jeff,

I'm currently rolling out Randy Moss, Chad Ochocinco, and Santana Moss in my PPR league for opening week but i'm having some doubts with S. Moss going up against the Giants D not to mention his wild scoring inconsistency. I currently have Chris Henry and Lance Moore as "viable" fallback options. Would you consider moving one of those two guys into the starting lineup or just stick with Moss for week 1 and see where it goes? Thank you!
