An opponent in my league wants to deal for Mendenhall. He is a Steelers fan and dropped Mendenhall last week after keeping him for 2009. What should my asking price be in this keeper league? He has Marion Barber and Kevin Smith as possible upgrade targets; his first round pick is likely going to be in 7-10 range as he's 3-0-1 with an easy schedule.

Keep 8 Players, 10 Team League

0.5 PPR, 6 pt/pass td, -3/int

Start QB, QB/RB/WR, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE

My Roster:

QB (3 max) Peyton Manning, Jay Cutler, David Garrard

RB (5 max) Maurice Jones-Drew, Steve Slaton, Ronnie Brown, Ray Rice, Rashard Mendenhall

WR (6 max) Reggie Wayne, Marques Colston, Randy Moss, Roy E. Williams, Jerrico Cotchery, Antonio Bryant

TE (2 max) Owen Daniels, Todd Heap

I would consider keeping Mendenhall for this week with the soft matchup against the Lions. I would keep him unless you get a great offer. Mendenhall looks to be the 2010 starter at RB in Pitt. You have a good squad. I think I would toss out Rice and Mendenhall for Barber and Choice and a pick. I like Barber a ton and think he is undervalued by most.

Jeff -

I need some advice as I think I'm too attached to my own players to make a deal to help myself.

12 Team Non-PPR Dynasty. Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1 Flex (RB/WR/TE) K, D

1pt/10yds rush/rec. 6pts rush/rec TD. 5 pts Pass TD. 5 pt bonus for 25 carries, 9 receptions, 30 completions.

Roster:

QB: Cutler, McNabb, Edwards

RB: Turner, Chris Johnson, Lynch, K. Smith, Fjax, J. Harrison, Norwood, Gartrell Johnson.

WR: G. Jennings, Ward, Avery, L. Moore, M. Wallace, J. Nelson, S. Stroughter

TE: Winslow, Heap, J. Finley

As you can see, I'm really weak at WR and I’m having a hard time dealing for one…mainly because I hate to part with one of my 4 starting RBs. I love the security of having 4 RBs…I need to seek professional help for this issue.

Looking at my roster, who would you deal and what kind of WR could I expect or should I target for the player you suggest? It’s a RB heavy league, but everyone is on the WR bandwagon this year so the price is high. I’m in analysis/paralysis and have to break out of it before I’m left in the dust.

As an FYI, the following are not available regardless of offer:

VJax, Calvin, Marshall, White, Sims-Walker, AJ, Desean Jackson, Fitz, Harvin

I was just offered the following:

Pierre Thomas, M. Bell, M. Morris, Lamont Jordan and Reggie Wayne

for my

Turner/Norwood, Avery, Moore, T. Edwards, J. Harrison + 2010 #1&2 rookie picks.

I was going to hit reject immediately, but I need to find out if my point of view is so skewed that I just can’t recognize a good deal when I see one or if I’m correct in thinking this is way too much to give up for basically Reggie Wayne.

I appreciate your advice.

You have enough good young players at RB and WR I think I would go the cheap route and offer Harrison up as bait. Some ideas might be Harrison for Driver/Kevin Walter/Mason. This would help you this year while Avery and Wallace get a better foothold, and Moore to get healthy. Another idea would be to pair Harrison and Lance Moore for a middle of the road starter or underperforming youngster. Ideas might be Houshy, Braylon, Roddy WHite (may have to add something else, too), ABryant, Britt (or Nicks (would love this for you if could pull it off), Royal (may have to add, but buying low), AGonzo, etc.I, too, would try to keep the RBs together ... especially in non-PPR. This is why I would target cheap players giving similar production. This is why I love the older WRs. Cost you little and you get a very good WR3 for a year or two. For some reason, people do not like the older guys. Especially target older WRs on teams not doing well. They will be looking to next year. Harrison looks like a decent enough prospect. For instance, I got Mason for Malcolm Kelly in a PPR Dynasty right before the season. I play him many weeks. I thinK Avery will be better as the Rams upgrade QB so it may be 2010, but selling now is selling low.Hope this helps.

Hey Jeff

12 Team H2H Keeper Auction League

$200 Cap

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

QB: Rogers $3, Garrard $1

RB: Chris Johnson $10, LT $45, Thomas Jones:$14, Forsett$3, Graham $4

WR/TE: Moss $40, Calvin Johnson$20, Boldin $22, Driver $10, Walter $8, Cooley $4

K: $1 Lindell

DEF: GB $1, Bengals $1

Currently 4-0 in this league. I don't like my RB situation with LT and would like to make a move to get something there. I will be putting a bid in for S. Morris this week. I have been offered Westbrook and Winslow for Boldin or Moss. The same owner has Jerome Harrison, what could I offer him for Harrison for depth.

I have also been offered Nate Burleson for Walter. Deal seems pretty close, should I pull the trigger? Thanks

Jeff,

I need to pick two starters (standard scoring) from:

Sammy Morris @ Den

Braylon Edwards @ Mia

Donald Brown @ Ten

Marshawn Lynch vs Cle

Lesean McCoy vs TB

I was thinking Lynch and Brown, but after picking up Morris I'm giving him some thougts as well.

I would keep Walter over Burleson. Walter is just coming back from injury. No way would I want the Westbrook deal. That is not close to a good deal for you. I, too, like Jerome Harrison. I think I would offer Cooley for Harrison and see what happens. If not, you are in pretty good shape as is. One other cheap back to consider is Buckhalter. He was playing well before nicking his ankle and will only be out a week or two. You have a very good team. I would not overly sweat RB2. With Morris as depth, you are in great shape. Five strong at WR and a great QB.

Lynch for sure. For the other, I would go with either Brown or Edwards. I might go with Brown this week. I like Edwards but am unsure as to how much action he will see. Edwards has a legit chance at a score.

I would play SJax over Morris/Edwards. As to the trade, it is a close one, but helps your RBs a ton. Walter is an underrated WR

I like Anderson this week. It appears as though Hasselbeck is playing so Wallace is on bench. I think Wash will get creamed this week and Campbell will look like the Campbell we remember ... and not in a good way.For the defenses, I think Jax is as good as any of these. Such a crapshoot. Cleve defense is decent, too, playing Trent Edwards and having Cribbs as returner

Hey Jeff,

in a PPR dynasty (IDP) I was offered

Jennings and Peppers

for my

Edwards and Cooper

Is this as easy a trade as I think it is? Overreaction to Jennings down period and Edwards being traded? my LBers would be thin so would probably ask for Demeco Ryans as well.

Standard scoring otherwise (.1 per yard, 1 ppr, 6 points all TDs, 1 point per tackle, 3 per sack)

Any help appreciated!

Thanks, Kree.

Hi Jeff,

Willis McGahee RB Ravens v.s. Bengels

Ray Rice RB Ravens v.s. Bengels

Kevin Smith RB Lions v.s Steelers

Michael Turner RB Falcons v.s. 49ers

Having a hard time deciding which three RB's to start. NO ppr

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

TIA

Hi Jeff

I am trying to pick the right QB in week 5. I am in a standard non PPR league. My choices are Warner vs Texans and Flacco vs Bengals. I like Warner's match up a slight bit better than Flacco's but Warner has had way too much pressure on him and he has been tossed around like a rag doll with little protection. Any chance he turns it around this week or should I go with the consistent numbers of Flacco?

Thanks

Non PPR standard scoring

Hi Jeff. I'm in a 12 team dynasty PPR league, and looking to make a deal to acquire Donald Brown. I am deep at RB, and so I am looking more to the future rather than reliance on this season. With that said, I'm not sure which RB to offer as part of a deal to acquire Brown. I have it down to Mendenhall and McCoy. Which of these would you trade to get D. Brown (or would you not trade either for Brown)? Points are 1 pt for every 10 yds rush/rec, 1 ppr, 6 td, -3 fumble.

Thanks!

I like it for you on the WRs. Cooper is a top ILB, but not enough for the difference. If you cannot get Ryans thrown in, you can move Peppers for LB help.

I think I would take Warner. Hou pass defense is poor. Plus, the Cardinals are coming off the bye & get WRs healthy again

I think I like both better than Brown right this moment. Each could be the unquestioned starter next year while the Colts will always split time at RB. Right now, I think Mendenhall is worth equal or greater than Brown, with McCoy less.

Hi Jeff

Which 2 RB's would you start in a non ppr league. Scoring is TD=6 and 1 pt for every 10 yards rush/receive.

1. Lynch (Buf) vs Clevland

3. Hightower (Ariz) vs Houston

I would say Lynch for sure. The Browns are soft. For RB2, I think I would go with Brown and the bad matchup over Hightower who does not get many yards or scoring chances.

I think I would either go with Buff or Cleve because both passers with throws picks ... plenty of picks. Buffalo defense has scored better than Cleve and CLeve has very few weapons w/ Edwards traded. I would lean that way.

Me again.

0.5 PPR

1/10 rush

1/15 rec

6 pt TDs

I may have a problem with Cotchery this week. His hammy is bugging him, and he goes MNF. I don't have a WR on the bench due to byes...starting Mason and Cotch.

I am thinking right now about dropping Henne (QB3 who's playoff schedule I liked if Schaub went out...also have Orton) in order to pick up either:

Sidney Rice

Davone Bess

Do I pick up Bess so that I have until Monday Night kickoff to make sure Cotch is playing, and then play Bess if Cotch won't go? I can drop my TE next week to get the other guy (unless someone takes him) but this week I need Shiancoe b/c of Gates' bye.

Also...playing Bradshaw over Chester. Good call?

Hi Jeff - Hasselbeck or Hill?

I have Garrard with a wk 7 bye. My backup is Shaun Hill. Wow...

Even though Hass has the same bye week 7 as Garrard, is he a better backup than Hill? I can pick up a one week fill in for wk 7. I'm just looking at a backup or maybe a plug and play for a good matchup.

Yahoo league, 4 pts for passing TDs, 6 for all other. 1 pt per yard receiving or rushing.

Thanks!

Jeff,

Harrison ranked ahead of Slaton, Benson, Jackson this week. I gotta play 2 of these. Read some stuff on the round table..... THoughts?

Also....have Carlson, but Miller and V. Davis on wire for te's

This is a close one. I think I might go with Rice and not mess with it. Starting Bess versus the Jets is not all that enticing and Rice, while risky, has the chance for a huge game any week. For the RBs, I like Bradshaw. Just keep an eye on his injury status. I read where he was wearing the "boot" again this week as a precaution.

Pick up Hasselbeck since he is back in the lineup. You can worry about week seven this time next week and be a week early. Also, never know who will be injured that you can nab the backup as your week seven starter (thinking about brady/cassel last yr).

I think Harrison and Slaton with Jackson third. Not a fan of Benson vs the Ravens. At tight end, I would go with Heath Miller for this week, unless you have to drop Carlson. If so, start and play Carlson with Hasselbeck back in the lineup.

Thanks again Jeff.

Here are a couple more moves that I’m thinking about and hope to get your perspective.

1. Williams or Evans over Massaquoi? (Yahoo league, NO PPR, 4 pts for passing TDs, 6 for all others, 1 pt for 10 yards receiving or rushing.)

Roy Williams with injured ribs, and Lee Evans, are available, as are Jenkins, Muhammad, and Avery.

I have Roddy White, Berrian, and Braylon, and hope he pans out in NY. I also picked up Massaquoi when that trade was announced. But with Williams and Evans available, as well as the others, I’m thinking I may need to swap out Massaquoi for a potential long term upgrade.

What do you think?

*Wait a week on Massaquoi and see how he looks as the WR1 in Cleveland?

*Snap up either the underperforming and injured Williams on a potentially good Dallas team, or maybe the streaky Evans on a suddenly poor Buffalo team?

*Or have I missed the boat on one of the other WRs.

2. Carney or Tynes? And when?

Kickers are kickers, and by the nature not too reliable for fantasy points. I do like my Tynes though, with the Giants seeming to consistently score a lot. Carney was dropped either because of his bye week 5, or because we don't know who the kicker will be, Hartley or Carney. It sure is tempting to own the kicker on that high powered NO offense, and also to have one more bye behind me, but if we don't know who is kicking, I guess you can't go that route. Because of Carney’s wk 5 bye, I have three choices:

- forget it and keep Tynes.

- wait until after the games this week and try to pick him up for Tynes as a FA after waivers clear (I probably wouldn’t use a WW pick on a PK)

- if he's the real deal in NO, maybe scoop him up now at the expense of one of my million Defenses. SF was so good last week as a bye week filler that I’m suddenly reluctant to cut them loose. It probably was more the Rams and less the 49ers last week, but I’m tempted to wait a week to see if SF is for real against the Falcons on Sunday.

*Do you like Carney over Tynes, or too much uncertainty?

*If you like Carney, do you like waiting and trying to pick him up as a FA after the weekend?

*If you like Carney, should I just get it over with and swap SF for him?

12-team NON-PPR redraft league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. 16 player roster.

Passing TDs = 4 pts, all others 6 pts. 1 pt for 10 yards rushing and receiving.

My Team:

QB: Garrard, Hasselbeck

RB: AP, Ronnie Brown, Addai, Lynch, Chester Taylor

WR: Roddy White, Braylon Edwards, Berrian, Massaquoi

TE: Vernon Davis

DEF: Phil, GB, SF

K: Tynes

Thanks again.

Hi Jeff

Quick advise for starters this week from two different leagues:

Start 2 of QB

M. Cassel vs DAL

T. Edwards vs CLE

M. Hasselbeck vs JAX (worried about his ribs)

Your advice on 1-RB, 2-WR's and one flex from:

RB

K. Smith vs PIT

M. Lynch vs CLE

F. Jackson vs CLE (do I play both BUF rb's?)

WR

S Smith (CAR) vs. WAS

D Bowe vs DAL

J Cotchery @ MIA (Hammy?)

MoMassaquoi @ BUF

I was thinking Lynch, S. Smith, ? and ?

Thoughts? Recommendation?

Thanks as always for the great advice.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks again Jeff.

1. Williams or Evans over Massaquoi? (Yahoo league, NO PPR, 4 pts for passing TDs, 6 for all others, 1 pt for 10 yards receiving or rushing.) I like Massaquoi best of Evans and Roy (who is not playing this week). if for this week. If just for WR depth, I would go with Roy. I am not a Roy fan at all, but he has decent upside in a spot start basis. You might wait a week to see if Massaquoi is legit. He will need to prove he can beat double coverage. Last week, he saw single coverage while Braylon was doubled.

Use Tynes this week. I would keep him unless he misses more kicks. Tynes is leading most leagues at kicker position. The only issue is the misses. Carney might lose the job to Hartley coming off suspension. Historically, the NYG kicker is a top 5 play. They get their kicker plenty of opportunities.

*Do you like Carney over Tynes, or too much uncertainty?

QB: Garrard, Hasselbeck

RB: AP, Ronnie Brown, Addai, Lynch, Chester Taylor

WR: Roddy White, Braylon Edwards, Berrian, Massaquoi

TE: Vernon Davis

DEF: Phil, GB, SF

K: Tynes

Thanks again.

Jeff,

I've got another question for my second league. It's a 14 team PPR IDP redraft league. We start the following:

1 QB

2 RBs

2 WRs

2 WR/RB flex spots

1 K

1 DEF/ST

1 DB

1 D

1 DL

With 6 bench spots and no roster restrictions. The scoring is a bit different with weekly performance milestone bonuses.

0.25 pts/completion

30 passing yards/point, +10 bonus pts for 400 yards, +5 bonus pts for 450 yards

-3 pts/INT

-1 pt/sack taken

15 rushing yds/point, +10 bonus pts for 120 yards, +5 bonus pts for 170 yards

-3 pts/lost fumble

1 pt/REC

20 receiving yds/point, +10 bonus pts for 150 yds, +5 bonus pts for 200 yds

20 return yds/point, +10 bonus pts for 150 yds, +5 bonus pts for 200 yds

6 pts for all TDs

This system gives some extreme love to the kick returners, Joshua Cribbs is tied with Philip Rivers for 4th among all Offensive players behind Peyton, Brees, and Flacco.

So my team looks like this, I put their Year to Date points in ()...

QB - Donovan McNabb (20.50), Eli Manning (86.75)

RB - Brian Westbrook (19.00), Kevin Smith (49.00), Marshawn Lynch (7.00), Leon Washington (34.00)

WR - Megatron (42.00), DeSean Jackson (50.00), Joshua Cribbs (89.00), Percy Harvin (67.00), Pierre Garcon (33.00), Mohamed Massaquoi (18.00)

TE - Brent Celek (46.00)

K - Matt Prater (31.00)

DEF/ST - Indy (56.00)

DL - Marcus Stroud (29.00)

LB - Patrick Willis (60.50)

DB - Darren Sharper (56.00), Anthony Henry (38.50)

To give you a little bit of history, there is a guy in my league that drafted McNabb. When he cracked his rib, the guy dropped McNabb for Kolb. I luckily got McNabb through waivers with a really low priority spot. He has since dropped Kolb for Shaun Hill, which is who I dropped to get McNabb. By grabbing McNabb, I have a lot of the Philly offense on my team...I would like to diversify a bit. This guy's team is below:

His team:

QB - Kyle Orton (70.25), Shaun Hill (49.50)

RB - Pierre Thomas (49.00), Brandon Jacobs (29.00), Ricky Williams (42.00), Michael Bush (17.00)

WR - Larry Fitz (38.00), Vincent Jackson (49.00), Andre Caldwell (38.00), Kevin Walter (20.00), Nate Washington (37.00)

TE - John Carlson (41.00)

K - David Akers (27.00), Vinatieri (28.00)

DEF/ST - Pittsburgh (50.00)

DL - Jared Allen (46.50), Aaron Schobal (36.00)

LB -

DB - Terrence McGee (24.00), Antrel Rolle (34.00)

I would love to land the P.T. Bruiser from this guy. Who would you offer up first to make it happen. I was thinking Eli and Westbrook or Leon Washington for Pierre Thomas and Shaun Hill. Or should I offer up a WR instead of Westbrook?

Kolb is available in the free agent pool so I can grab him to setup the handcuff with McNabb.

Or do you think I should just ride with what I've got?

I'm going to wait until after this weekend to offer a trade. This should help put some distance between my players and Pierre Thomas since he is on bye this week.

Thanks for your opinion,

-Eric

Hey Eric, I think I would try Eli/Leon for Pierre. I would love the move. Westbrook is back healthy so I would not give him, esp considering Mike Bell will be back next week (even though I think the job is Thomas' to lose). But, if you make the offer now, it might have a better chance at being accepted since he needs a RB this week. I would not give Westbrook and Eli for Thomas at this point (unless you do not like how Westbrook looks this week). You could always offer Garcon and Eli. One other thing to think on: I would prefer Kolb as my backup to Hill. If McNabb goes down, Kolb is more likely to produce big games.

Would you pickup New Orleans or Denver Def and drop San Diego it looks like NO has the easier schedule for the rest of the season and this is a redraft league.

Well, it looks like R. Williams is out - I may just start Garrard instead of Romo. Of course, that'll mean that Romo will go off for 400 yards.... lol

hi jeff. would you give witten for portis. non-ppr redraft league. i have no other te, so i will have to look to waiver wire. i have lt, kev.smith , grant, m.bell and leon.w at rb we can start 3 rbs
