1) I lost Ronnie Brown and D Bowe this week. I have been thin at RB all year (after my 2 starters - Chris Johnson and Ronnie Brown), with very few backups. I have been using Chester Taylor as a bye week fill in, and now have to either rely on him, Michael Bush - Oak, or Bernard Scott - who i got off the wire yest. I am leaning toward starting Scott, am I crazy?

2) Are any of these waiver wire RB's worth a bench spot? 1)Mewelde Moore - Pit 2) Aaron Stecker - Atl 3) Jerious Norwood - Atl 4) Leonard Weaver - Phi or 5) L'Ron McClain - Bal I'm thinking Moore or Stecker. Or are all of these guys not worth the gamble? (see explaination in question 3)

3) Is Bowe worth keeping? I have Andre Johnson, Hester, Sims-Walker, Hakeem Nicks, and Breaston too. I'm thinking about trying to get a back up RB in stead of Bowe in hopes of a starter going down, as there is very little on the waiver wire and once a guy goes down, his back up is snatched by everyone else before I even get close to picking them up. Is this a dumb idea?

4) Is Avant - Phi worth a bench spot in case of injury to my WR's?

Hey Scott, it is tough losing Brown. I think I would start Scott this week in a good matchup. He has a much better chance for a huge game than Chester. Of the WW RBs, I like Mewlede or Norwood (who I would wait a week to see if healthy). Moore is getting consistent action. I think I would keep Bowe, at least until/unless a great waiver wire option opens up. You have good WRs and should be ok at RB2. Have a good one. Jeff

So you definitely do not start Grant?

SF has a very stiff run defense and Grant does not catch many passes. I just think the others are better when you get points for receptions.

I would start Mendenhall against the sorry KC run defense. Denver has a good defense and will be tough to run on. I definitely would roll with MSW. He could have a big game. Garrard plays much better at home and I think MSW is the one who benefits. I think the Minny pass rush will have Hasselbeck on the run all game.

I would keep as is. I like Boldin this week. He is still ticked about being de-activated a couple of weeks ago. At RB, TJ vs LT is a tough one. I think Denver plays better than expected after being embarrassed the past couple of weeks. I think i would roll with Jones coming off the bye week. It is hard to bench LT, but the Jets will try to run the ball and not rely on Sanchez.

Don't know if you remember but I was the one with the highscoring start 2 qb league. Well this week I have Vince young and I'm thinking about benching for Matthew stafford. Staffords playing the browns but then again he plays for the lions. And Vince young has just got the job done recently enough for me not to just lose. But Vince is going up against a Houston team coming off a bye and bye teams have been known to show fight as of late (tampa bay came off a bye and beat gb, clevland held bmore to 16, etc) and I'm figuring that since Calvin is back and clevland browns just plain out sucks. What would you say? Points per completion etc. League.

By the way who do you have in this "blackoutbowl" browns or lions?

I would drop LD White for AZ defense. Them and the Patriots are the two defenses I like this week that are available on most waiver wires. At RB, Forsett vs Slaton is a tough one with Slaton named the starter. I can see both sides, especially with your scoring. I do think Slaton has the better shot at scoring. At WR, I would roll with Maclin and hope. I think the percentages go with Avery but Bulger tossed him two TDs last week and I have reservations about lightning striking again. I would not touch Chambers, and would not start McFadden. I need to see more from both before considering either. Good luck this week. You have some good pieces. You could make a late push and get hot at the right time. Having Brady always helps.

I think the Lions blow the Browns out. It looks like the Cleveland players have given up. In Detroit, I see a bigger game by Smith and the run game than through the air. Schwartz is a coach that will get up and run. Young will be solid this week, yet unspectacular. I see 15-18 fantasy points. I think he is safer than Stafford, but less upside. I think the only way I play Stafford is if I thought I wanted to risk it and hope for a big game. Stafford looks to finally be healthy. Since you get points per completion, I could see where Stafford might be worth the risk. I do think Houston beats Tennessee. The streak is over after three wins. But, if Houston is up and throwing, it might make VY pass more. Working against VY is the injury to Gage. He is out again.

Hey, there are a couple that stand out to me. Snelling is a player I like a lot. He will get some yards running and receiving. He gets even more if Norwood does not play. Santana always kills the Cowboys. Also, I like Wallace, but not over Snelling. I would lean toward Snelling. Also, I currently don't have any 1st round picks (traded it away in a deal that brought me Smith). For me this trade comes down to whether or not Slaton and Stafford will be boom or bust players. I do not like Grant for the future and Burleson is not a long-term starter for you. Stafford is the player I like. Can you ask for a QB back in the deal, even if just for depth? This whole deal hinges on Slaton, his value and role in the Texan offense. I probably like him over Grant in your situation, which leaves the pick versus Stafford/Burleson. I like the pick.

Thanks for the speedy response! I have until tomorrow morning to accept or decline the deal, so I'll be watching the game myself. He has Cassel and Cambell at backup and will have to drop 2 players in the deal anyway. If I do decide to accept, I'll request for one of them. Does losing Burleson hurt my chances for the playoffs this season?

Hey Mike, I will want to see tonight's game before being too definitive. Want to see how Slaton will be used. But, in general, I like the move. I do not like Grant for the future and Burleson is not a long-term starter for you. Stafford is the player I like. Can you ask for a QB back in the deal, even if just for depth? This whole deal hinges on Slaton, his value and role in the Texan offense. I probably like him over Grant in your situation, which leaves the pick versus Stafford/Burleson. I like the pick.

He has Cassel and Cambell at backup and will have to drop 2 players in the deal anyway. If I do decide to accept, I'll request for one of them. Does losing Burleson hurt my chances for the playoffs this season?

I would prefer Cassel since Campbell is in last yr of contract in Washington. Losing Burleson might hurt a little, but difference between he and Avery each week is not great. Also, is Rock Cartwright available on waivers? He would make a solid RB3 for the rest of the year.

You should be ecstatic with those four WRs. I think I would roll with Wallace just for upside. To be honest, you will not start this WR, hopefully. At TE, I would keep Keller and pick up Finley or Pettigrew. Both are decent depending on matchups. Keller is a tough one to guess. I have not looked at DET/GB matchups but would be tempted to get both young guys if the matchups line up.

If I'm able to get Cartwright, here are my four possible matchups, listed by rushing defense (worst to best). Which two do you like best?1. Scott vs Cleveland (29th best rushing defense),2. Chester Taylor (spelling ADP) vs Chicago (surprisingly the 23rd best rushing defense), 3. Lynch vs Miami (12th best rushing defense), or 4. Cartwright at Philly (10th best rushing defense). I'm assuming that if Scott plays again, the best matchup of the four is Scott vs Cleveland. You never know how much work Taylor will get, so I guess he's the least of the four options. I would go with Cartwright and Scott, assuming Benson is out. Carwright is a good receiver and totaled 140 yards (rush/rec) against Dallas Sunday. If Benson is playing, then I would play Lynch if he is active. If not, Chester is the fallback option. I think you have it laid out right. The good news is that you have options. I'll see what he thinks. The guy I'm trading with snagged Cartwright last week. I lost (by only 6 points) so my playoff hopes are basically done. I'm going to go with the deal. I think the 1st round pick plus Slaton gives me a better chance of winning in the future. Thanks for your input.

Congrats on the win. At least you have some good choices. At WR, I would roll with Rice and Colston. RB is a little more difficult for me. I would start ADP and Grant for sure. The other spot is between Forsett and Snelling. Much depends on the health of Julius, Turner and Norwood. If Julius plays, and Turner does not, play Snelling. Even splitting time with Norwood should be fine vs TB. If Julius does not play, I would start Forsett. He has a great matchup this week against the Rams. Good luck.

Congrats on making it to first place. I would start Mason and Rice for sure. Even Mason's weak games were ok, except for ones against Cincy. At WR3, I think I would roll with him over the ones on the waiver wire. Chambers is an option, but high risk. Seems like his upside and White's are similar. I would go with Burleson I think. Denver has a good secondary. Both WRs are decent enough plays this week. With Bradshaw hurt, I do expect Smith to be used on short routes. Tough call. At RB, I think I would definitely go with SJax. Gore vs Rice is another tough one. I like Gore. I think the 49ers dedicate themselves to the run this week. Baltimore vs Pitt will be a tough one. The other two have great matchups.

Congrats on the win. At least you have some good choices. At WR, I would roll with Rice and Colston. RB is a little more difficult for me. I would start ADP and Grant for sure. The other spot is between Forsett and Snelling. Much depends on the health of Julius, Turner and Norwood. If Julius plays, and Turner does not, play Snelling. Even splitting time with Norwood should be fine vs TB. If Julius does not play, I would start Forsett. He has a great matchup this week against the Rams. Good luck.

Grant left the game with a "stinger" IIRC, and I saw a couple reports that say he'll be fine. Does the short week concern you at all?

I have not heard any reports to the contrary. He was a full participant in yesterday's practice. The Lions are a great matchup.
