Hey Jeff

need an opinion from you

I own the Patriots and Lions Defenses in a 15 team league.

the usual 6pts def td, 1 point per forced fumble, int sack, etc

there are points for holding a team under 10 etc.

the fear here is if the d gives up 30+ points its -3 points, 40+ -6 points, 50+ -12 points

I am in first place but barely and have $30 of $100 FA budget left and the only d options to pick up are

Oak at Dal or KC at SD doing so would cost me $8 of my remaining $30.(as the bid period has ended, when I should've picked up Oak)

Should I pick up the Raiders D and play them tommorrow against dallas? or stick with the Patriots Monday night and really roll the dice.

Thanks as always.

Question 2 -

Also pick 3 for this week out of

Cotchery vs CAR

S Smith (car) at NYJ (and Revis)

Austin vs OAK (and NA)

Finley at DET

I could also play Lynch (vs MIA) but it would be in the flex spot and would eliminate Finley as an option.

I would keep/start NE defense. Dallas should score as many points vs Oakland as NO. There have been a few times where NO was under 30 points. I think I would start the three WRs over Finley. Have to hope for TDs with him since the other three have a better shot at big yardage and scores.

Need a WR2, RB2 and flex, where do I go this week?

PPR League, Return Yardage (1pt/25 yards)

WR1 Andre Johnson

RB1 MJD

Backs:

WR's - Sims-Walker, Anquan Boldin, Percy Harvin, Johnny Knox

RB's - Kevin Smith, Jamaal Charles, Darren McFadden, Jonathan Stewart

I'm thinking: RB2 Jamaal Charles WR2 Anquan Boldin and Flex either Smith, Sims-Walker or Harvin

Any Thoughts? Really can't decide between Smith and Charles. Even Boldin worries me with Warner possibly not playing NEED a W this week.

Thanks a lot

Jeff,

I'm about to toss a coin here...but please give me your thoughts.

We start 2 RB, 2 WR, and 1 RB/WR - please pick from the following:

RBs

Brandon Jacobs

Rashard Mendenhall

Steve Slaton

WRs

Hines Ward

Terrell Owens

Steve Smith (CAR)

Steve Smith (NYG)

Also, please pick 1 TE between Antonio Gates and Visanthe Shiancoe.

Standard scoring -- 1 pt/10 yards rush/rec and 6 pts/TD; NO BONUS and NO pt/rec

Thank you so much!

I would go with Smith. Charles struggles running between the tackles and Smith is a good receiver to rack up points. I would definitely play Bold. Warner is playing this week. Charles vs MSW is tough for me. I expect the Jags to be down early and have to pass. So, MSW due to garbage time.

Gates at TE. KC defense gave up big game to Heath Miller last week. At RB, I would go with Jacobs (with Bradshaw out) and Mendenhall. I did not like how Slaton was used on MNF. At WR, I like Smith (NYG) most. The other three have tough matchups. For me, the decision comes down to Ward vs Smith. I would not want to rely on Fitzpatrick and TO. For WR2/Flex, Smith and Ward. Slaton missed practice with a bum shoulder and has a rough matchup vs Indy this week. Good luck.

Happy Thanksgiving, Jeff.

Was able to squeak out a W this week. Thanks for the help last week. So, I am going back to the well here. Would you change anything different with this lineup?

I picked up T.O. but am skittish about starting him...but having Jackson and Maclin vs WAS worries me more.

I suppose I am a little worried about the Jacobs injury...but read that Forsett may be taking a seat for J.Jones. Would have liked that matchup. Also still confused by the whole Houston RB situation with Slaton's dropped pass. No fumble but a dropped pass. :lmao:

Thanks. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday as well. I am rolling with Jacobs as well. With Bradshaw out, he looks like a decent play. The Eagles play the Skins this week so I would sit Maclin. The Wash pass defense has played pretty well of late. Now, I would not expect too much on TO, but the Miami secondary is nicked up. I can't remember how many times Steve Smith (car) was loose behind the defense last week. Slaton is a tough call. I just read where he missed practice with a shoulder injury. I expect him to play, but be limited in a very tough matchup against Indy. I think I might be tempted to play Forsett again. Have a good one and the best of luck.

Jeff, Happy Thanksgiving to you. Looking to pick my TE for this week's game from Finley or Z. Miller (Oak). League scoring is 1 pt per reception, 1 pt every 10 yds rec, 6 pts a TD. What do you think?

Hi Jeff

I am in a PPR league.

Which team D would you start this week?

1. Green Bay (@ Detroit)

or

2. New Orleans (vs New England)

Also which 2 RB's would you start?

1. Kevin Smith vs GB

2. McCoy vs Wash

3. McFadden @ Dal

4. Cartwright @ Pilly

and lastly for my 2 flex positions who would you start?

1. Hester @ Minn

2. Celek vs Wash

3. Schillens @ Dal

4. Any of the not started RB's above

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving.....Cheers!!!

Crum. I wasn’t able to get Cartwright, and Benson is anybody’s guess right now. So I've put together some more thoughts on this week’s games.

Background: I have two spots to fill, and can use any RB or WR. I’d appreciate any insight you might have on these guys.

1. NYG Danny Ware at Arizona, the 8th best rushing defense? With the NYG RBs dropping like flies, is he someone who might get some carries behind Jacobs in that run oriented offense?

2. Is Lex Hilliard of Miami vs New England’s 14th ranked rushing defense a possibility? Will he get the carries that Ricky always got now that Ricky is getting Ronnie’s carries?

3. Not much news out of Cincy, so at this point I’ll probably go with Scott again this weekend vs Cleveland (29th best rushing defense).

4. Chester Taylor (spelling ADP) vs Chicago (23rd best rushing defense),

5. Lynch vs Miami (12th best rushing defense).

6. Sammy Morris at New Orleans (19th rushing defense) on MNF!

7. And I do have Braylon Edwards playing at Tennessee, the 31st ranked passing defense in the NFL. But the Titans seem to be playing a bit better, and Edwards is oh so unreliable.

Is it still Scott vs Cleveland, and Lynch vs Miami? Wow, what choices! Any thoughts before Thanksgiving? Thanks again, and best wishes to you and your family.

12-team NON-PPR redraft league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. 16 player roster.

Passing TDs = 4 pts, all others 6 pts. 1 pt for 10 yards rushing and receiving, 25 yards passing.

My Team:

QB: Garrard, Hasselbeck

RB: AP, Lynch, Chester Taylor, Sammy Morris, Bernard Scott, Lex Hilliard

WR: Roddy White, Chad Ochocinco, Braylon Edwards

TE: Vernon Davis

DEF: Phil, GB, Chi (for wk 13 vs StL)

K: K Brown

Do you get to make waiver moves along the way the rest of the season? If so, I would dump the AZ defense for SD. They have KC this week and Cleve next. I love Finley for this week. Heap is nicked up. He has slowed down of late. I would order them Finley, Davis then Heap.

Love Finley this week. I would prefer to rely on Rodgers over Gradkowski.

hey Oscar, I like the GB defense with Stafford out and Calvin questionable. Culpepper wills tart for Detroit. In a PPR league, I would start Cartwright after the big game last week in PPR. I also like Smith and McCoy. Not a huge McFadden fan until he puts a couple of big games together. So, now, need one more to start in flex. I would roll with Hester and hope he can get deep. I am a big Schilens fan but I want to watch a week.

Hey, I would start Scott with the assumption that even if Benson plays, Scott will see a lot of action. The game is against the Browns and it would be stupid for the Bengals to risk much with Scott playing well. So, now just need one more. This comes down to Ware or Chester Taylor. I do not know what to expect from Hilliard, Lynch or Morris. All three are extremely iffy. I think Ware will see 10ish touches, most receptions. Taylor only sees increased touches when the Vikings are down or up a ton. I do not see this game as either so I think I might risk it on Ware and enjoy the Thanksgiving game. Jacobs has been gimpy so you never know if Ware could see a huge workload instantly. It is risky and this is a best educated guess. I do not feel great about it, but could pay off. Good luck.

Jeff - I like it! I've been toying with starting Ware, especially since Lynch, even when healthy, has been forgettable. I think it's time to just do something different and hope! Thanks again for your time, and best wishes from all of us subscribers to all of you and all your family and friends. What a great country we live in.

Hey Jeff, hope u had a great thanksgiving.

Couple of questions here.

IN a 0.5 ppr league, choose 1 rb, 1 rb/wr.

Lt vs kansas, Ray Rice vs pitt, Mendy vs ravens, forsett vs rams ( assuming JJ doesn't play), TJ houz vs Stl (seems like a great matchup, but i cant use him in my wr slot as i have r moss, A johnson and Simms walker already penciled in)

ALso been tossing up the QB play between Palmer vs browns and Schaub vs IND ( they played him pretty toughh on the last outing).

Thanks

Pick two for this week

T Jones vs CAR

J Snelling vs TB

L Maroney @ NO

T Highttower @ TEN

D Sproles vs KC

J Forsett @ STL

if julius jones is ruled out,

do i start justin forsett at st louis or ray rice vs pittsburgh?

i play in a ppr. i know rice is usually a no brainer, however, forsett has a nice matchup against st. louis and catches a lot of balls.

your thoughts?

If Julius Jones does not play, I would go with Forsett and Snelling assuming Turner does not play. If either Jones or Turner plays, sub Thomas Jones in. If both Jones and Turner play, add Maroney. I hope this makes sense. Good luck.

Hey Jeff -

A couple of tough ones this week.. PPR, 1/10 rush/rec

Need 1:

P.Thomas vs NE

R.Bush vs NE

Wells at Ten

Need 1:

Cartwright at Phi

Lynch vs Mia

Snelling vs TB (if Turner sits)

I think the Cartwright one is easiest, especially with the rumors that Turner will play. If not, I would go with Snelling. On the first one, I would lean toward Wells. That is very close. I admittedly do not have a good feel for the NO run game and which will see action this week.

who is a better wr to grab off the waiver wire this week?kenny britt or jason avant?i play in a ppr.
I think it depends on if DeSean Jackson misses time. He is prob 50/50 now. I would say Avant if Jackson is out and Britt if Jackson plays. The Eagles face a bad secondary in Atlanta while Tenn might be in a shootout with Indy.

better RB to own for the rest of this season

specifically

weeks 13,15,16&17 (15-17 being the playoffs, week 14 will be a bye for me, week 13 could win top seed)

a good productive type as my rb's are MJD, Pierre Thomas, Beanie Wells, Mike Bell & (currently Morris is my fifth RB)

in a play 3 and a flex league, no ppr.

Sammy Morris

Larry Johnson

Chris Brown

Brian Westbrook

Jerious Norwood

Darren McFadden

Thanks again!

This is a tough one. I am torn between the two extremes of production this week versus swinging for the fences. I like Brown and Morris but they have limited upside being in a committee. Not really a McFadden fan at all. Not really a LJ fan either. I think Turner misses this week and Norwood has a good shot at starting. Also, I do not expect Westbrook back before wee 15 so he could be a swing for the fences type. I would probably pick up Westbrook and start three you already have rostered this week.

Dwayne Bowe is currently in the free agent pool. I'm worried that the colts may shut down Reggie Wayne and I'm also worried about Chris Redman throwing the ball to Roddy White. So I may need to start another WR (we can only start 2 WRs, no flex spot). The league is a PPR league with all TDs worth 6 pts.

I've been hanging on to Gonzalez hoping he will get significant time if they sit Wayne, but if they shut Peyton down too, I really don't want to depend on Sorgi in the playoffs...Should I pick up Bowe and drop Gonzo? Thanks again Jeff.

Hey Eric, I would keep Gonzo I think. Even if Wayne/Peyton are out, Indy will throw the ball. It may not be until week 16 at earliest I would guess. My issue with Bowe is that he comes week 15 and will split targets with Chambers who is red hot right now.

Thanks Jeff, my last question for you this week, which may be a continuous theme each week, is do I start Sims Walker or Roddy White this week? MSW gets the home version of David Garrard against a suspect Texan secondary and Roddy White gets the Eagles defense...I need a win this week to get a good slot in the playoffs, thanks again. FYI, I've messed this one up twice and it cost me wins both times (I sat Roddy when he blew up in San Francisco and MSW was suddenly inactive at 3:15 pm...thank you Del Rio and I sat Sims Walker when Roddy White had 8 pts and MSW had 24 pts two weeks ago)

Hi Jeff,

Looks like this might be my last week, but I’ll go down swinging!

ADP will fill one of my 5 open spots this weekend, so I have 4 spots to fill, and am looking for the best fit.

I’m high enough on the waiver wire to grab Avant if he looks like the best bet, depending on DeSean Jackson’s status. I’ve also picked up a bunch of the backup RBs hoping that one of them will turn into gold…I don’t think that has happened though!

Background: I have four spots to fill, and can use any RB or WR. I’d appreciate any insight you might have on these guys.

1. Roddy White vs. Phil

2. Ochocinco vs. Detroit

3. Avant at Atlanta

4. Bernard Scott vs. Detroit

5. Marshawn Lynch vs. NYJ

6. Chester Taylor, backing up ADP, at Arizona

7. Danny Ware vs. Dallas

8. Lex Hilliard vs. New England

9. Sammy Morris at Miami

At this point, it probably makes sense to “play your studs” and go with Roddy and Chad as two of the four.

Then for the next one, even though I prefer an RB for that third spot, I’m thinking Avant may be the best option for a few points, with the possibility of a TD. I wish I knew more about Jackson's status though.

Finally, I have to find one of those backup RBS. I’m not sure I can depend on Morris, Hilliard, or Ware to get many touches. Lynch has gone backwards and Jackson now seems to be the bell cow in Buffalo.

That leaves Chet and Bernard. I still don’t know what LJ will do in Cincy, or how bad Scott was hurt last week, so he probably becomes less reliable as an option. I like him though, but just don't know what the situation is in Cincy, especailly with LJ playing pretty well after Scott got hurt.

I guess that leaves Chester picking up the crumbs that Peterson leaves on the table. I'm hoping that ADP will go off for 30 points this weekend, but with Favre passing it so well, especially in the red zone, that doesn’t seem all that likely anymore.

So at first blush, it looks like Chad, Roddy, Avant, and Chester. Wowser.

Any suggestions? Such a funny league. Went from 5-1 after 6 weeks, with three of the highest scores for the week, to 1-5 in the last six. Amazing.

Thanks in advance!

12-team NON-PPR redraft league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. 16 player roster.

Passing TDs = 4 pts, all others 6 pts. 1 pt for 10 yards rushing and receiving, 25 yards passing.

My Team:

QB: Garrard, Hasselbeck

RB: AP, Lynch, Chester Taylor, Sammy Morris, Bernard Scott, Lex Hilliard, Danny Ware

WR: Roddy White, Chad Ochocinco

TE: Vernon Davis

DEF: Phil, GB, Chi (for wk 13 vs. StL)

K: Elam (have to pick up a PK)

I think MSW Matt Ryan is out this week and the Philly cornerbacks are strong.

Sorry for the bad luck the past few weeks. I agree on Chad, White and Avant. I agree on those three. The last one is a tough one. It does come down to Chester and Scott. Scott was hurt last week and Benson is back now. I think I would also go with Taylor. Man, how a few weeks can change things.

I expect Gonzo back in a couple of weeks. I can see dumping him for Norwood if you need a RB starter this week. You can check the play by play, but it seemed to me that Snelling saw limited action after a fumble. I would definitely take Britt over Royal now. He looks great.
