Dear God no.

Cue link to significantly worse hit on Losman thread opening day '06, which every Pats fan on this board defended.

Absolutely not. And neither was Kimo on Palmer. The plays were very, very similar. Main difference being Kimo was more carried into palmer, and Pollard lunged to make the play.

Unfortunate that Brady had planted his foot at that moment.

I'm as big a Pats fan as on these boards, and took Brady in round 1 of a league, and even I know it wasn't dirty.

It was exactly the same as Kimo's hit on Palmer, IMO.I think it's borderline. But that's the NFL. Go as close to the line of "dirty" as possible without going over. It has a long and storied history in Pro Football. Part of the game.

I'd guess the 2 people that voted yes to this so far are Pats fans that started watching football about 3 days ago and have no clue about the game itself.. ..this is hilarious.. even My wife asked how many clowns are going to try and say it was a dirty play..

ok.. so if it was borderline dirty then tell the RB that blocked Pollard to the ground right before it happened to not block him so he can drill Brady right in the chest.. that way it would be a clean play.. for Gawds sakes people.. get real!

I don't care if it was dirty. If it was, they deserved it. Belichick ups the score on every team he faces last season, you're bound to anger a few people.

Now I just hope others go to town on the Patriots this year and beef up that score board.

All I will say about that hit- is that there is a God!!

:toilet: Shameful attitude on the subject. I don't see how a person can think someone else deserves an injury like this or any for that matter.

I dont think it was a 'dirty' play. It was a 'clumsy' play. Sort of. But anytime a guy leads into a knee with a helmet or shoulder, regardless of positions of either player, its gonna call intent into question. But going in low on Qs around the knees is just a gray area that cant really be defined. I dont think the guy had the intention of hurting Brady, so for that reason, I dont think it was dirty. But you just hate to see hits to the knees of any kind. But that's football.

Doesnt really deserve a response, but Im human, and this is pretty weak. No. EXTREMELY weak.

 As much as I can't stand the Pats, you should never get excited over an injury like this. Very uncool. Reports are flying and it is bad. Hopefully, Tom can rehab and get back to his regular self by next season.Hopefully, his career is not in jeopardy.

Not even close to dirty.

Pollard was flat on his stomach and Brady had the ball at the time. Pollard dove forward to make the tackle/sack assuming Brady still had the ball. It just so happened that Brady was releasing the ball just as he got hit and planted his foot.

Center Dan Koppen was asked his thoughts on the hit that knocked Tom Brady out of today's game.

"I talked to the ref and I don't think there was anything dirty about it," Koppen said. "I think it's football. Things happen. You can't control what happened. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad."

I didn't think it was dirty from the replay I saw. Looked like a guy playing to the whistle, blocked down & kept moving forward, and hit the QB where he could.

Only question I have is how many familiar names I see calling this absolutely clean that I recall in a Vince Wilfork/Losman thread last year calling for a suspension and calling Wilfork the dirtiest player in the game. Little pot/kettle thing going on in here.

Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst on Brady's knee.

I think the whole "dirty" play thing tends to get thrown out of proportion and I suppose it is people like Moss that keep that happening.

This was anything but dirty. He was hit as the ball was released and the defender simply dove to try and tackle Brady in a last ditch effort to mess with the throw (it worked as the throw was incredibly short).

Think the Chiefs player will draw a fine? Wilfork did.

It wouldn't shock me. The NFL has made it pretty clear that hitting a QB in the knee is illegal. "Dirty"? I don't think so... I don't like that rule in the first place. But the NFL has set the precedent.

OMG ..12 vioted yes????and by the way.. if there's a fine it's for one reason... because it was Brady..!!!!

The question I have is why every single non Mike Vick type rushing QB doesn't wear a knee brace on his left leg (assuming he's right handed). This might not have made a difference but it might have helped. Keeping the knee from bending that way is exactly what it's designed for.

J

Maybe he didn't want it to slow him down. :(

Yes. That's always what you hear but I think it'd easily be worth the trade. J

You know how it is - these guys don't like to think about getting injured, and they don't like looking weak or feeling like they're looking weak to other guys, so they don't take that sort of a precaution. Nobody wanted to be the kid - and there was one in every neighborhood when we grew up - who rode around on his bicycle with the dorky helmet, and this is just the pro athlete version of that.

Self-explanatory.
Homer... :goodposting: :coffee:  so, since you're a NE fan, let me know what you think about Rodney Harrison , in every game he's played in for the Pats..tell me he's not the dirtiest player you've seen lately. NE fans calling other teams/other players 'dirty' is just laughable.. :lmao: :lmao:

I don't think that's a good analogy. Lots of lineman wear them as precaution. Just seems stupid not to. I bet Brady wears one when he comes back. As Manning does.J

I don't think it was a dirty play. I believe the guy was just trying to get to the QB and he had a guy on his back. If he was coming in clean and hit his knee then it would be considered dirty, IMO.

Try again, bud.1. I'm a NO Saints fan, having lived down there for the past 6 yrs.2. I don't think it was a dirty hit.3. I don't like the Patriots.Silly assumption you made.

Wrong. Both were low hits, but were different. Wilfork didn't have a defender draped all over him when he went low.Try again. :)
