I HATE when these post-game interviews include these type of stupid narrative type of questions. NFL Network is the worst at it.at asking Alex Smith what he thought about Sudfeld going into the game. What in the world is he supposed to say to that? “Well Lisa, at that point it was pretty obvious that they were intentionally trying to lose and we’re pretty thankful that they did that because we barely squeaked out a win against one of the most obvious tank jobs ever and are pretty not thrilled to get get blown out of the water next week.”

Think about their QB situation next year? Because that's what they did... I mean tonight's game is meaningless and only means something if God forbid Wentz or Hurts get injured. Or Sanders.

I don’t know about that. Yes they looked awful tonight but they can get pressure on the QB (with their front). Brady is going to be feeling some heat.

Just get rid of the 7th playoff spot and five playoff berths to the top 6 teams regardless of division. Who cares if you win your division?

Agree. And I’m guessing (hoping?) that they make a change at QB. I guess Alex was fine in the first half but he couldn’t do anything second half.

If the Skins had a healthy McClaurin and a functioning QB I would tend to agree. They will definitely get pressure on Brady and we all know how he hates to get hit.

Winning your division is a big thing. It matters. I agree with getting rid of the 7th spot, but division winners should always be in the playoffs. We got Beastquake out of the 7-9 Seahawks too.

I'll just say this and call it a night.
As a Jaguars fan, I was happy that they let Marrone finish out the string because I was worried that an interim coach might rally the troops.
I was also happy that Marrone actually said with a straight face "Mike Glennon gives us the best chance to win. " I was worried that Minshew might have made a couple plays and pulled a win out by mistake
For everybody yelling about fines/draft picks, take a second and think about how you write a rule/guideline to set the standard for the future objectively.
Then think about how you would apply it to Steelers/Browns today. Steelers tried to win but wisely sat key players to rest and as a result help enable Cleveland into playoffs...and the two meet next week.

How about have 4 divisional winners and 2 wild cards, as we’ve had for years. But the stipulation as a divisional winner is that you can have your playoff birth or seed taken over by a/another wild card team if you don’t win at least 9 games? So if you finish 8-8 and win the division you could end up a wild card team or missing the playoffs all together if the wildcard teams are that strong that season (afc this season). I like the divisional winner format but you gotta be able to finish above .500.

The Ragles can do what they want and the Giants certainly have no right to complain, but the Eagles seem to have violated an unwritten law here. Playoffs are playoffs and p, who knows, maybe the Bucs all get Covid and Washington advances despite being barely able to beat the Eagles’ practice squad.

Philly media is hammering it. It's so blatantly hilarious when they were literally talking about how the Eagles need to lose this game all week. Some that are handwringing now literally said Doug should throw the game on Thursday and Friday. Also the same people that were onboard for at least 2 of the 4 years Sixers put Tony Wrotten and Ish Smith on the floor as legitimate starters for 82 games.
I can't help but laugh at the idiocracy.

There were some things I wanted to say yesterday but it would've completely derailed the thread yesterday, so I'll just post the cliff notes version since hopefully the "OH MY GOD THE PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY OF THE LEAGUE IS DEAD!!" crap might be dying down.
I find it hilarious the NFL tends to pride itself on a "next man up" philosophy except when people actually get hurt and the next man up isn't really... good. I want to know from the guys crying about that... if Jalen Hurts or Carson Wentz (y'know, the guy making $30 million next year and has a history of season ending injuries) suffered a ACL tear/serious injury that KO'd them eight months... you think professional integrity would've mattered a damn? You gonna give them a badge saying "Tore his ACL and killed his career, but upheld the fine longstanding traditions of the NFL" and that'll help Eagles fans get over the pain? NFL gonna gift the Eagles 1st round picks for "Honor and Loyalty?" The simple fact of the mater is the Eagles have a very important offseason/training camp coming up that will likely shape their franchise for the next decade; I'm not even an Eagles fan and I know this. You cannot risk either QB getting a devastating injury that'll impact them going into next year. I think starting Hurts was a bit risky to begin with, but whatever they started him.

I agree with Morganti saying that if they announced Sudfeld as the starter in the middle of last week...noone would have a problem with it; but yeah...that morning show was just complaining to complain.Insein said:

It's crazy to me too. If they would have started Sudfeld the whole game because they didn't want to risk Hurts behind that line and there was nothing to play for, nothing would be said. There are literally posters like @rockaction who 3 weeks ago was so angry with the Jets beating the Rams, that he said the organization failed by playing Darnold/Gore and they never should have risked winning the game. So it's baffling that playing Sudfeld for the whole game would have been the smart/responsible thing to do, but playing him for 1/4 of the game was an absolute disgrace to the game of football lol.The Frankman said:

Totally different than throwing a game outright and right in the middle of it. You want to evaluate guys? Fine. Evaluate them. Don't yank your better starter halfway in when it looks like you have a chance to take the lead against a team that's pretty much been ####e on offense. No, if you look at the quotes that you're running around pasting everywhere, there was an evaluation element to it. Don't pretend like there wasn't. The front office did a disservice to Jets fans by not seeing the talent level of those whom they'd invested third and fourth round picks in. It was quite clear that they were going full bore to win a game and save Gase's job, two things I was not interested in. I certainly can pull for an outcome as a fan without being hypocritical because our organization isn't full of gutless tanking losers like yours. They ignore people like me and uphold the sport's integrity at all costs.
