Watkins or Landry? (1 Viewer)

If I was to request one of these two in a trade, who do you prefer and why?  (Full PPR)

Watkins: New team, new beginning.  Questionable QB but solid supporting RB and WR's.  Injury history not favorable.  Possibly more upside?

Landry:  Bit more successful the past couple of years.  New, veteran QB (upgrade?), solid RB, up and coming supporting WR to prevent 2X coverage but could also become 1B to Landry's 1A.

I prefer Watkins by a decent margin. He's more talented, and his new team clearly thinks highly of him. Landry on the other hand seems like he might be losing the #1 job to Parker, and may have been a Tannehill creation, as Tanny liked to checkdown on short crossers a lot, where as Cuter is almost the antithesis of that.

Depends on what you want.  Upside......Watkins.  Safety.....Landry.

For me, upside wins championships, and the upside of Watkins is too tempting so I would lean towards him.  At his current draft price, he could win you your league if things go right (like Watkins staying healthy and Goff actually improving).  Landry can't do that.  And travdogg is right....Landry's value takes a hit with Cutler at QB....Cutler loves to sling the ball downfield which favors Parker and Stills.

If it's redraft (and since it's PPR) I go Landry. Although I expect Parker to step it up this year, Landry should still be solid as a target hog.

If it's dynasty, I go Watkins.  Even though I'm no Goff fan, it's not like he had great QBing in Buffalo and his I always bet on talent long term.

Please take a look at my dynasty trade question.  I'd love your advice!

Thanks Illini and Trav - both good input.   I will offer the trade involving Watkins.    Not sure he will go for it, but I have had VERY good results in past trades with this owner.   Last year was awesome and I think he is still a little butt hurt but we shall see what he says...

Not quite dynasty, but some of us play it that way - it is a keeper league where the average team keeps 6 or 7 players a year.    Watkins seems to be the long term play but if the other owner balks, I can fall back to Landry.

FWIW, either Watkins or Landy would be WR3 to team up with JJ and Dez, and the probability that I take another WR somewhere in my first three picks.   But every trade or pick I make is with the idea of looking at keeper potential for next year....

With that many keepers, it's almost dynasty, so yes, I make that deal and take Watkins.  When healthy last year, he looked dominant.

Trade offer accepted!

I give the #9 overall pick for #14  and Watkins.    Thanks to all of the input above - I really was on the fence and purely by forecast I would have leaned towards Landry, but the arguments y'all made for Watkins were strong and well reasoned.

Probably not a bad deal since dropping back 5 spots in the draft will still allow me to pick up a Fournete or Cook (probably the 2 best RB'S that will be available)  OR another WR.   I still keep my original 2nd round pick (#19) so in the end I am fairly confident in the result even if Watkins is a mediocre WR3 supporting Julio and Dez.  The loss of 5 draft spots will be marginal in comparison (I hope).

Thanks again!
