I am not sure he is worth 1/2 of that.

Guess the Colts had some insider information on the labor talks huh ;)

Obviously a signing bonus in 2006 and a roster bonus in 2010. 2007, 2008 and 2009 years can be redone if the team needs them to be (and Wayne's consent). Clearly this just a 2 or 3 year deal, after which Wayne's contract will be renogogiated or he will be released.

Not sure I agree with that. They clearly see him as their future number 1. After 2-3 years Harrison will probably be all but done and Wayne's yearly contract actually decreases in years 5 and 6.

Right. And salary caps by then will be significantly higher, so his salary may be a bargain the last 2 years.

Generally, Top NFL players don't play for bargain rates. If he supplants Marvin(maybe he already has, I mean without a doubt is "the man" there) he's a lock to be a top WR with Peyton throwing to him. I would counter with, you just pointed out when he'd want to renegotiate not when he'll be a bargain.

No way any NFL player or agent would sign such a deal. This is the same thing T.O. and his agent did with their Eagle's contract. In all likelihood Wayne and his agent agreed to this deal because a very large roster bonus exists for 2010; meaning Wayne gets a boatload of money if the Colts pick it up; or the Colts have to offer him a new contract or release him.*** I have never seen a player's annual salary drop within a contract without the presence of a large roster bonus.
