Wearing your teams UNI at an Away Game (1 Viewer)

I don't go to as many pro games, but I imagine that it's not nearly as bad as wearing the "wrong" jersey at any serious college game.
:P I've tried both, and its not close. I can wear a Bengals jersey in about any stadium there is (haven't done Philly yet though). Doing the same thing for my college team gets me 100 times the abuse.
agreed. i wear lions gear to bears games all the time. i catch some crap, but nothing i wasnt expecting. generally the bears fans are great. it probably helps that they're in a good mood from the easy victory they just had. on the other hand, i wore an IU shirt up at Purdue and almost didnt make it out of west lafayette alive.

My advice to you and all other FGUY subscribers is dont show up to an Eagles team w/ the "other" teams jersey.
:P My brother - also a 'Skins fan - was a grad student at Princeton and went to a 'Skins game in Philly about two years ago in December, and said it was absolutely crazy what 'Skins fans were subjected to. He didn't wear a jersey, and he noted that two guys sitting in front of him were quietly rooting for the 'Skins (no jerseys either) and would only quietly bump knuckles without attracting attention when something happened good for the 'Skins. Out here in L.A., Raiders games at the Coliseum were that bad too, back in the day.

Don't let me stop you. Put your favorite jersey on, tuck it into your blue jean shorts, clip your cellphones and PDA onto your leather weave belt, clip the bluetooth onto your ear, strap the oakleys down...and don't forget to put your ankle socks on before you slip the sandals on to head out to the game :sadbanana:
And risk being labeled by some judgmental random "real man"? Oh the humanity!

I've worn my Cowboy jersey to games in New York, Philly, Green Bay and San Fransisco. Had decent seats at each place so I was usually around season ticket holders that sat by each other from week to week. After some initial tension when I walked in, I was always able to engage in friendly conversation.

Since I didn't act like an ### everytime the Cowboys got a first down or scored - there wasn't much friction. Giants fans, Niners fans, and Green Bay fans were all cool and just talked football with me. Even in Philly, the regulars I sat around were fairly cordial and told some would-be jerks that I was OK and shouldn't be troubled with (dicey getting in and out though).

Now the driver that took us to the game in San Fran did tell me I would be making a big mistake wearing dat jersey to da Raida's game.

To be honest, most nervous I ever felt was walking into a jammed packed restroom full of Colorado Avalanche fans (during a playoff game) in my D. Hatcher Star's sweater...I was sure they were gonna push me into that urinal...

I wore an Orioles jersey to a Red Sox game at Camden Yards a couple of weeks ago and I was afraid all the Boston fans weren't going to let me out of there.

I didn't intentionally do this, but I did once wear my Footballguys.com Staff Hoodie (Black Hoodie with silver embroidery) to a game at Arrowhead one year. There were a LOT of hostile stares at me until people actually read the "Footballguys.com" and realized I wasn't a Raiders fan...I figured out why all the hostile stares looking in the mirror washing my hands after the second time I went to the john...lol.
I wore my Footballguys.com hoodie while on another Fantasy Football website and my computer became infected with viruses. Since then I surf the web completely naked ...

Why are you so defensive Poindexter, nerd it up

The reason fans in the south are nice to each other at pro games is because theyll slit each others throats at college games, ESPECIALLY SEC games. I wore a Saints jersey to the Panthers/Saints game in NC last year, and for a division rivalry theyre very friendly to each other. Theyll even invite you to tailgate with them.

I was hit in the back of the head with a liquor bottle in Cleveland in 1979. It hurt, but didn't break the skin. I was wearing a Bert Jones jersey (who was injured at the time and didn't even play). I was being pretty loud when the Colts blocked a punt and went in for a TD. We were sitting almost at the 50 3 rows from the bottom in the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. We ended up losing that game 13-10. I believe Toni Linhart missed about 4 field goals inside the 40. He was given a $10,000 raise after the game (sarcasm by Irsay I guess), then cut.

classic . . .

I wore my Anthony Miller jersey to a Charger/Raider game there in '93. It was a harrowing experience, did get some drinks dumped on me and plenty of swearing, rude gestures and threatening glances in my general direction. I lived through it but I definitely wasted no time in the parking lot after the game. The Chargers won that one. Good times!Wore my Charger jersey in Cincy last year at that game. People were generally nice. I got lots of jovial belittling at half time. I just kept responding "you have to play all 4 quarters." The Cincy fans weren't quite as jovial and were definitely less happy to see me after the game was over, though I had the good grace not to remind them you have to play all 4 quarters - go figure. Also good times!

 :lmao: :D :P

In retrospect I really do not know why I decided to wear that beautiful #10 jersey to the Philly game but thank god I was in the third row and that the Titans won. It might have to do with how many transplanted fans are at the game. I myself saw 2 other Titans fans the whole game and was almost scared for my welfare. When you walk through the parking lot and packs of drunken grown men (granted I am 17 and 6'3 250) yell ####### at you and follow you around swearing, it gets a little scary. As I was walking out the dejected eagles fans had really quieted down and I had no problems except a guy pulling his car in my path and yelling ##### VINCE YOUNG to me.

If say it was Jets Eagles I figure one would have more "backup" so to speak. I literally felt alone. One actually friendly guy walked down the whole section to me while my dad was at the bathroom and said pleasantly, "Welcome to the Linc! I hope that you have a pleasurable yet eventually disappointing experience today! Screw the Titans! E-A-G-L-E-S!" Then he walked back up 35 rows.
