Week 04 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (2 Viewers)

Is it crazy to bench Jonathan v Pitt for Jordan Mason v NEP?

The Steelers gave up 89 rush yards @ ATL, 64 yards @ Den and 61 yards v LAC.

It's a fierce defense that can't rely on their QB to "keep defenses honest".

What streaming TE to go with, in full PPR? Thanks!

Parkinson vs Chi
Higgins vs Was
Henry vs SF
Fant vs Sea
Hill vs Atl
FBG and Fantasypros both have Parkinson the highest rated.

With Olave and Kamara both being questionable, I'd be tempted on Hill if either sits. Especially if you need the home run swing/upside.

I'd go Mason there too. With Richardson's recent play, that could be an ugly one

Dude. You know I'm not the guy for this.

Hill is probably the guy if he's healthy. He seems like a key component of the offense and we know he has massive upside. Also Olave & Kamara are questionable.

1. Do you dare start Mixon or A.J. Brown this week?

2. Are you brave enough to start KWIII in a MNF game?
In a perfect world, I'd sit them all.

Unfortuately, all of our players are injured and an active Mixon or AJ Brown are going to have to start for me.

KWIII is a lot tougher. I'd probably not risk it unless you have a GOOD pivot option. Even if he's active, I fully expect them to ease him back in the 1st week or 2. I think eventually he'll be back to taking the Lion's share of the touches. But the next few weeks, I'd still expect a healthy dose of Charbonnet.

Which at Flex? Full ppr

M. Wilson
Jakobi Meyers
Please include matchups in the future. I don't know who Arizona is playing off the top of my head.

One is missing Davante the other is missing McBride. One has a much better matchup.

Wilson>Jakobi

4 points per passing TD, Guillotine league, so Floor/safety matter more than upside.

Start: Purdy vs NEP, Baker vs Philly, Love vs MN?

I lean Purdy since he seems to be getting all of his weapons back. I'm worried with Love's 1st game back if he aggravates the injury. Baker vs the Philly secondary could also be nice.

Would you flex Christian Watson (vs MIN), Brian Thomas Jr (@ HOU) or Braelon Allen (vs DEN) in 0.5 PPR?

Consider if Love plays...
It sounds like Gabe may sit. After seeing Buffalo light up Jacksonville, this feels like a get right game for Houston. Would think that Jax is passing a lot, and BTJ should see plenty of looks.

Agreed on all counts.

At present I have AJB in my lineup in 2 leagues, and Mixon in 1. I have Akers in the Mixon league, and in the AJB leagues I can pivot to Lockett & Jeudy, respectively. In one I could pivot to Iosivas, but I already have both Chase + Higgins in that league.

I’m currently benching KWIII in 4 leagues, as I have no viable MNF replacement.

For Flex in a 0.5 PPR

Ford @ Las Vegas
Shakir @ Baltimore

One of the above.......I also have Jameson Williams v. Sea but I think I'm not gonna play him. I haven't played Shakir yet so he's getting pretty antsy on my bench. I'm leaning Shakir but Ford has a good matchup and now no injury designation.

I also have KWIII but I'm not going there with the monday night game

I agree. Absolutely the best floor option. Also has a great ceiling.

0.5 PPR, Ford.

Crosby being out should help.

Probably not Watson.

Allen if you think it's going to be a blowout. Thomas if you think the Jags are going to lose big or little.

Thomas>Allen>Watson

DST question

Currently starting Texans home vs Jaguars. Jags looked bad on Monday night on the road, so have that long trip back, and on the road again this week. Engram is out, so one less weapon. I doubt Trevor makes the same bad throws he did in Buffalo, but even without that the offense didn't look good.

Also available
Dolphins home vs Titans
Vikings at Packers
Packers home vs Vikings

Levis has been the gift that keeps on giving, but that will probably end at some point, and the Dolphins D isn't that great on their own
Vikings have been awesome, but with more film teams will probably prepare better for them, plus the Packers offense is pretty good
Packers have been solid so I see some sites touting them too.

Shakir.

Pick 3 WR. Full PPR

Ja'Marr Chase at Panthers
Brandon Aiyuk home vs Patriots
Terry McLaurin at Cardinals
Rome Odunze home vs Rams
Jameson Williams home vs Seahawks

I'm kinda in on Shakir this week. He's WR17 in PPR formats and the Bills haven't been challenged the last two games

FTR the Raiders are pretty much a must start against D for opposing RBs and now Maxx is out. Ford is a good option even with a Q designation.

But Shakir is my guy this week.

Ja'marr, McLaurin & Aiyuk.

Doesn't seem like much question to me.

Odunze & Jameson could easily outperform the others but they haven't done enough to start over the others yet, IMO.
I purposely answered before seeing your response. Answered the same way, for the same reason.

And while Aiyuk hasn’t proved it yet this year either, it just feels like a big game is coming.

I agree. Maybe not a "big" game, depending on what that means but I think week 4 is where we find out if he was worth the headache. The problem is this could be a room for the Niners and they may go full Bills and not throw in the fourth.

Here's one:
FFPC scoring:

Need ONE of these:

L.McConkey vs KC
H.Henry @ SF
M.Gesicki @ Car

And one more:

Need TWO of these:

J.Jacobs vs Minn
J.Reed vs Minn
J.Jennings vs NE

no, I start Mason.

0.5 point PPR

Jacobs vs Minny
Steele vs LAC
Jennings vs NE (assuming Deebo still out)
Jacobs but you know that.

Deebo and Kittle are trending towards playing. And the Chargers are looking incredibly depleted on both offense and defense. Herbert is limited. Slater and bosa are both out. I kind of think Steele is the right call.

But if either Deebo or Kittle are out, I'd probably pivot to Jennings

I guess because of the tight end premium I go with Gesicki. If you're not feeling that, I probably pivot to McConkey.

You start Josh Jacobs and you know it. If debo and or Kittle are out, I go with Jennings. If they both play, I go with Reed.

If Love is out again I also bench Reed, regardless of Deebo & Kittle.

Thank you both.

I still have concerns about McLaurin - will the Commanders keep up their second half offense from last week? Will McLaurin go back to being lined up only on the left side of the line, as he was in weeks 1 and 2, and as Hopkins was throughout Kingsbury's time in AZ?

Of course I am still worried about Aiyuk, Also don't know if Kittle and Deebo coming back helps or hurts him - it takes away some of the defensive attention, but it also gives Shanahan an excuse to take away his own intention.

I'm 0-3 in spite of having what I think is a strong team, so need to start winning asap.

What I saw in the last game is a coach who’s trusting his QB to make deep throws and a QB totally confident in throwing deep.

I regret not dealing for TMc when there was a buy-low opportunity.

6 point passing TD

Justin Fields at Colts
Caleb Williams home vs Rams
Geno Smith at Lions
I think it has to be Geno but I'm tempted to say Fields. But I can't recommend either him or Caleb over a proven commodity like Geno.

The Lions seem to have a great run defense and this game has been ridiculously high scoring each of the last two years (both times in Detroit).

Fields is going to have a breakout game, Williams kind of did last week in a way. But I like Geno here.

Geno>Fields>Caleb
Revisiting this if you please.
6 point passing TD
Justin Fields at Colts
Caleb Williams home vs Rams
Geno Smith at Lions

The FBG analysts seem more enthusiastic about Caleb. But the non-FBG analysts generally favor Geno > Fields > Caleb. Any reason to reconsider? I'm currently 0-3 so really need to turn things around.

Here is their composite rank: (I don't know if the FBG analysts are doing 4 point or 6 point passing TD - but my league is 6 point passing TD)
Caleb Williams - 9
Justin Fields - 15
Geno Smith - 16

And here is each individual analyst:

Maurile Tremblay
Caleb Williams - 8
Geno Smith - 12
Justin Fields - 15

Sigmund Bloom
Caleb Williams - 7
Geno Smith - 13
Justin Fields - 18

Bob Harris
Justin Fields - 12
Caleb Williams - 14
Geno Smith - 16

Justin Freeman
Justin Fields - 9
Caleb Williams - 13
Geno Smith - 14

Jason Wood
Caleb Williams - 9
Justin Fields - 17
Geno Smith - 20

Joey Wright
Justin Fields - 12
Caleb Williams - 14
Geno Smith - 17

Dave Kluge
Justin Fields - 8
Geno Smith - 14
Caleb Williams - 22

Alfredo Brown
Caleb Williams - 10
Justin Fields - 13
Geno Smith - 16

Jeff Brown
Caleb Williams - 11
Justin Fields - 12
Geno Smith - 17

Update: I’m now starting KWIII in all 4 leagues.

I love Sat announcements for a MN game. The Post-Pete era in Seattle is far more FF friendly.

Speaking of Saturday announcements:

Jordan Love v Minnesota

Justin Fields @ Indy
Very tough call. Fields faces a worse defense but has a worse offense. Maybe Love bc he's at home and the Vikes will definitely score points, so the Packers will need to pass. Fields, despite the rushing upside may need to just hand the ball off all 4th quarter.

Jordan Love v Minnesota
Yep - I had Darnold in, but probably shifting to Love. Feels like a coin flip.
Interesting. I already had Fields in over Darnold. Mostly because of the matchup (Kwity Paye & Kenny Moor both out along with no Buckner).

Looking at it in context I might go with Darnold over Love, at the very least it's a coin toss. Therefore...

Answered my own question.

Thanks.

AJB is OUT for Sunday’s game. I figured with week 5 a BYE. Honestly I’m relieved - this is the smart play. I lose a bit with my subs, but not as much as if he aggravated it.

And I answered before I remembered it's a FF fallacy to make a decision on potential game script. But in a toss up like this, it's hard not to consider that.

PPR - 14 team

Tony Pollard or Chuba Hubbard

Jaylen Waddle or Xavier Worthy
Pollard>Chuba

Chuba doesn't get to play the Raiders every week.

Waddle>Worthy

He's just a much bigger part of the offense. Good, bad or ugly. I also think the Chiefs have a good chance to roll the Chargers with Bosa, Slater & Derwin James all out and Herbert hobbled at best.

Worthy is always good for a crazy big play, I just wouldn't bank on it. And Waddle has big play ability too.

Jordan Love v Minnesota

I went with “edge goes to the home team” in the Love vs Darnold.

That said, I’m still waffling. MIN’s defense is legit, including their pass rush. So I may go with the Darnold.

It's a tough call. Love's injury is also a factor, he did not have a full practice this week. Darnold may not be "better" but he is definitely safer with similar upside.
