Week 1 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (3 Viewers)

Could use some thoughts on my last flex. .5ppr 1ppr for TE.

Monty @ GB
Kraft v DET (would roll 2 TE’s, Njoku being the other)
Jauan Jennings @ SEA

Thanks bros

Interesting calls but I'm having a hard time moving off of Montgomery. He should see 15 opportunities and get a couple cracks at the end zone.

If I understand correctly Jennings is being eased back into the offense. Although "easing in" and "Kyle Shanahan" are seldom used in the same sentence. Still, not sure I know how to handicap him.

Kinda ditto for Kraft. He's healthy and talented but, I see a crowded group of pass catchers in GB and it gives me a little pause. I believe he probably has a higher ceiling than Monty but, Monty does have multi TD ceiling.

Monty>Kraft>Jennings

Might as well throw another one in to the mix ..

4pt passing, 6pt rushing

Purdy @ SEA
Caleb vs MIN (MNF)

Ive got DJ Moore starting, if that tickles anyones fancy in a direction

Purdy. He's just so much more proven and its a tougher matchup, IMO. There's just a lot more downside to Caleb and, IMO, if the upside truly shows up (and the upside is massive) it won't be before week six-ish.

Purdy>Caleb

Warren @ jets
Tracy @ was
Tracy for me, better matchup (on paper) and, this early on the season I think Tracy more volume upside.

Tracy>Warren
I've had Tracy the whole time, just getting pre-wedding jitters.

Because I have no idea how healthy Jennings actually is, Monty. If I was sure he was 100 I would go Jennings.
Also, Kraft over Njoku. I don't want to touch anything on the Browns at all to start the season. I don't care that they're playing Cinn.

Purdy. Minn is a tough D to start your career against. Lots of blitzing.

Apologies, if already been asked, don't have time to scour the Thread:

Seems like an interesting one: Josh Jacobs vs Jerome Ford , Standard, non-ppr

TIA

I cannot think of a single argument in favor of Ford. I often tell people to go with their guts, and I stand by that but, this feels like a massive overthink.

It may be a tougher matchup, but Ford is nowhere near Jacobs talent level.

It's also just the right decision regardless of who finishes with more points. You'll feel a lot worse watching Jacobs on your bench outperform Ford then you will the other way around. The first outcome is an expectation, the second a fluke.

Jacobs>Ford

Bench one:

Jacobs
London
Nabers
Mcbride

Other starters- hurts/baker/bijan/barkley/jj/lamb/bowers

12 team SF PPR TEP IDP
Probably Nabers because of his back. I don't know if it's serious or not but he just always seems to be dinged up. So considering your options I'd give him a week of wait and see.

Warren @ jets
Tracy @ was
I think it's super close.

From everything coming out of the Steelers mouths, Warren is ahead of Kaleb. I expect the Steelers to be in cruise control and Warren should see steady volume. I think he's the vet they trust to run out the clock. Let's say the world is playing tricks on us and the Jets jump out to an early lead. Warren still gets the passing work.

I think Washington jumps up on NYG early. And Tracy may keep the passing game work. But Skatettbo may also be involved. I think they're looking for a heavy heavy dose of Nabers though.

I just feel better about Warren and the Pitt game script

I'm hopeful Caleb has a big breakout season. I think I'd go Purdy wweek 1 for the better floor and see where that put Caleb going forward.

Give me Kraft with the TEP.

Reed isn't 100%. I think it will be a fairly high scoring affair. Doubs and Wicks probably are what they are at this point.

Kraft showed a lot of athleticism and tackle breaking ability last year. I expect him to take a step forward and the team to make every effort to get him the ball more. I think the Packers with Jordan Love want to be a prolific passing attack. They switched it up after Love got dinged up last year. But I'd expect them to let their franchise guy sling it and Kraft to benefit.

Monty probably scores a touchdown if you go with Kraft. But I think Kraft has enough volume that he should have a really solid day.

Need to start three of these RBs
This is the order I have then ranked now, but close between Ford and Chubb
Henderson @ LV
Eckler @ NYG
Ford @ Cin
Chubb @ LAR
I think that's the right order.

I worry Chubb is nowhere near the same guy and Houston will use a 3 man committee with Pierce and Marks working in. Houston OL is ungood.

I think Ford gets the majority of the work in CLE, Cincy defense is bad.

standard, please pick one

K.Walker vs Niners
T.McMillan @ Jags

Really wrestling with it, don't care for the Seattle guessing games with their RBs but with McMillan being a rook, hard to trust right off the bat. Thanks!

Am I completely off my rocker for contemplating Lawrence over Daniels? 6 point TD league. All the talk is how tough the Giants are up front. Figures to be a low scoring game. Lawrence figures to be in a shootout vs Carolina. Both teams fully identify with offense with defense an afterthought. I’m starting Hunter in my flex too
I'm president and CEO of the TLAW fan club. I think he's super underrated with the changes in Jax. Top 12 season incoming.

I still couldn't ever bring myself to bench Daniels.

.5 PPPR
DJ Moore Vs Minnesota
Or
Kenneth Walker Vs San Francisco

1PPR
Rome Odunze Vs Minnesota
Or
Jakobi Meyers At New England

Thanks!
Walker I feel good in saying.

I think the 2nd one is pretty close. I think the NE/LV game could be a grindy run heavy affair with neither offense being amazing. I think Chicago comes out wanting to establish the passing game week 1 under Johnson. Rome by a hair.

Full PPR:

Is it totally insane to start Dont'e Thornton @ New England over Chris Olave vs Arizona?
In this game of trying to predict the future, I don't think starting anyone with a starting role is ever insane. Even Dotson outscored AJ Brown the other night.

I think Olave is more talented, and expect the Saints to get behind early and stay behind.

I think Thornton is probably 3rd in the pecking order and I think that game may be more of a grind fest with both teams wanting to run the ball and play defense.

Thornton only needs 1 play. But I think in full PPR, I'm significantly more confident in Olave.

PPR, pick one:

Deebo v NYG
Egbuka v ATL
Jameson Williams v GB
I am a true blue Jameson stan, so keep that in mind when I say Jameson here.

I can make an argument for any of them, really. All three have some level of change on offense but, IMO Jameson has the most stability.

I think Deebo may be used more in the run game than we suspect but, that's pure speculation. All three will likely see a touch in the run game. He also has the best matchup.

I pass on Egbuka just because he's a rookie and you have, likely similar options.

They all have big play ability but, Jameson looks like one of the most dynamic players in the league while it's been a minute since Deebo did that consistently.

Long story short:

My objective recommendation is probably to play the matchup:
Deebo>Jameson>Egbuka

In my personal lineup:
Jameson>Deebo>Egbuka

standard, please pick one

K.Walker vs Niners
T.McMillan @ Jags

Tough call. My guy is to go with Tet because I expect him to see a lot of looks and it's a better matchup.

My only hesitation is it being non PPR.

Tentatively:
Tet>KWIII

Both decent options but I'm very high on Sutton this year, more in PPR but, even so I like him at home in, what should be a plus matchup.

Sutton>Warren

Okay, I'm having second thoughts on my QBs

Caleb v Min
JJ McCarthy@ Chi

Currently have Caleb in but, the chatter in his thread makes it seem like he could have a complete meltdown. But this is JJ's first start and it's in the road against a tough D.

I'm inclined to stay the course and roll with Caleb.

Thoughts?

Breece Hall @ Steelers or David Montgomery @ Packers, full ppr
Montgomery for me ATM. I am a fan of Breece and I think he will outproduce his draft position but, the loss of Vera-Tucker could be a huge blow for that offense as a whole. I have much more faith in Montgomery's usage and potential production than Breece ATM.

Monty>Breece

Nothing scientific but when i'm picking between two closely ranked QBs playing against each other, I would usually pick the home QB. I'd stick with Caleb and see how he does, plenty of weapons to throw to. Probably a coin-flip though

Jaylen Warren at NYJ or Courtland Sutton vs Tennessee? 1 point per each first down, no PPR, standard scoring for yardage.
I lean Warren.

I think the Steelers run the ball a ton today. I think Warren is set up nicely to return value on the 1st downs. I'm expecting Warren to be the lead back. I don't feel good about playing Kaleb at all.
He's going to get you 1st downs on the ground and in the air. He's a good pass catching back, so he should be pretty immune to game script. And I just don't see the Jets getting a big lead here.

Denver could jump out to a big lead on TEN early and run it the entire 2nd half.

I have Dak and Worthy and now huge underdog. Would you bench Pollard for Harvey for potential higher ceiling (in non-ppr)?
Ooooofff... that is 100% a gut call. I don't think I bench Pollard simply because I don't see anyone for him to really split carries with until Spears gets back. Harvey is a complete unknown at this point IMO.

But if your gut tells you something else, I'd listen to it.

Pollard>Harvey
