Week 1 Defense (1 Viewer)

It looks like every site is extremely high on the Jets defense which I am also high on them. Their value seems good and they should do well against Cleveland.

With all that said it seems almost too easy to put them in every line up.

Would it be bad to fade the Jets defense in a cash game for someone like Carolina, Tampa Bay or Tennessee?

Are you putting Jets in every line-up? What percent of you line-ups will have the Jets defense week 1?

Right now I have the Jets in all 100 of my lineups because they are just so tempting but I am starting to re-think it.

Carolina & Tennessee ... on the road in Florida in early Sept wearing darks and sitting on the sunny side of the field. Neither team has substantial depth at DL. Carolina lost DL this weekend. TN just lost their CB1. Carolina is VOID of NFL starting caliber WR at this point. Jags quietly improving. Mariota is facing a L Frazier/L Smith unit on the road. Both teams are Vegas dogs. One man's opinion but Carolina & TN bad places to allocate money for cash line-ups.

TN at home versus Tampa with their CB1 ... I could understand taking LeBeau vs a rookie in his first start. Prefer Tampa a fair bit for cash games

NYJ appealing. Missing their star DT and facing a great OL so assumptive to think lots of sacks. Flip side not sure who gets open against the Jets secondary. Vs McNown ... YES ... but I get a little more hesitant/willing to look elsewhere if Manziel starts. Just a gut ... blank happens ... call.

Have an interest in the Colts. S Watkins meet V Davis. Bills QB situation is bad. Remove the Pre-G2 highlights against situational, controlled, vanilla preseason defensive nonsense. Real-time with Davis mitigating your play-maker AND a stable of gimpy RB and, perhaps, playing from 10 plus down majority of the game ... Taylor/Cassell may not look so good

Bills very good unit and Ryan's track record is proven. The positive on that side of the ball is negated with what could end up being a Bills offense somewhere between challenged to inept W1. Colts get up early ... Bills D on the field a lot ... down by 10-ish start of Q3 ... forced to throw a lot ... gets ugly and fairly easy for the Colts to hit value. Like them for a GPP defense and borderline cash play, as would prefer a cash team defense home/favored. Enter the NYJ and Tampa

Broncos interesting option also. I do not see the Ravens having a WR capable of getting open with any consistency; game is at altitude and Broncos moderate favorites.

For Fanduel, I like the Panthers against the Jags at 4800 and the Dolphins against the Redskins at 4700. Suh and Cameron Wake will terrorize RG3.

On Fanduel I am currently deciding between the options already mentioned:
Tampa Bay $4500
Miami $4700
NYJ $4400
Indianapolis $4300

The only other options Id consider are:

Kansas City $4300 (@ HOU)
Minnesota: $4400 (@ SF)
Denver $4200 (BAL)

The first two Im consdiering because they could be facing tire fires, Denver is a borderline top 10 defense playing at home at altitude opening weekend, Ravens may not be playing at full speed in second half

Miami is a great choice and now the Redskins are trotting out Cousins who's known to throws INTs. Only problem is their playing in Washington, and i know the cracking draftkings data supports defenses at home more than away.

Problem is, both Miami and Panthers are on the road. Using the cracking Fanduel metric, TB fits the criteria, at home, low line for opposing team, rookie quarterback first starts (on both sides -- seriously, did the NFL plan this?)

How has TB first team defense looked this preseason? I have not heard much or read much on how they did.

I'm going with 3 DTs this week Miami, NY Jets, and Seattle. Probably about 40% Jets, 40% Fins, and 20% seattle. TB is tempting but don't think I will be using them.

Jets, Miami, Philly, Buffalo

- Jets have been talked about enough.

- Miami has a strong DL vs a weak QB who will be forced to throw a lot if Wash gets behind. And pass attempts = sacks attempts = INT attempts.

- Philly has an offense that moves quick which turns into a higher number of total game snaps for each team (in theory). And they may end up in spot like the Miami D.

- Buffalo is more of a tournament play. A lot of teams will fade them because of the Colts offense but the can get after the QB (sacks=points), it's in Buffalo, TY might not 100 percent, Rex will throw a bunch of blitz at a team that has some new pieces and might not have gelled yet. I am not arguing that this is a great play but in a big tournament it has potential to get some solid points and I doubt is going to be used much.

So Ron Rivera has, as of right now, said that Corey Brown and Ted Ginn Jr are his starting WRs for opening day. Hello Jaguars defense
