Week 1 For The Giants (1 Viewer)

Tremendous Upside

So you have a team with what is essentially a lame duck coach starting its first season without its star RB against a bitter division rival, having had another division rival lose earlier in the day...

And not only do you lose pretty badly, you lose your starting QB, starting RB and your top young DL all to varying degrees of serious injury...

What a calamitous game for the Giants and their fans...

I would say the Bills had the worst week. And it's not even close.
From a life perspective, absolutely...No debating that...I'm talking from a strictly football perspective...
As a Giants fan, history tells me to fully expect them to tank in any primetime game, but I never expected a day as potentially catastrophic for this season like that. What hurts even more is that Eli was really looking like the real deal.

Hard to top the Jets opening day in 1999. And that was a team that was actually supposed to be good. Pre-season favorites to win the AFC and it all went down in about 25 minutes.

Pretty bad. That game reminded me of the Phily Wash. "body bag game". (Not a season opener though)

All in all it could have been worse. Jacobs and or Manning could be hurt worse.

IMHO Jacobs had 0% chance of staying healthy. I was hoping I was wrong because it would be cool to see a back that big carry DB's in the 4th quarters of games. Guys that big just aren't built to play RB unless they are regulated to a handfull of carries.
