Week 1 Waivers (1 Viewer)

sorry I didn't realize you were just giving us an update on your league.....
So you make an effort to quote him, use some sarcasm, then you give some ##### bag comment like this.

Who peed in your cheerios this morning? Who did you miss out on for your WW that you're so angry/confrontational? Why are you picking a fight?

sorry I was just pointing out that comments like this:

"the Eagles shipped Matthews away in part because they liked what Agholor showed and wanted to give him the chance."

seem to indicate that the writer somehow got confirmation of this somewhere from the team.......when it actuality it is just fantasy owners inferring/speculating and trying to put a spin on something to convince themselves of something....it may very well have been part of the reason, but we really don't know it to be true.....

Ok.

I was originally only trying to add some background to why Agholor may actually be a good pickup, but I guess we should just all rely on simple statements like "It was only ONE game" and leave it at that because that's some cold hard facts right there.

I got Cohen for 20%, Golloday for 10%, and Allen for $2.  I was more or less price enforcing on Cohen, his second highest bid was 8%.  Kerwynn Williams went for 60% to the David Johnson owner, and the second highest bid was also 8%.

Its a local league that's generally very aggressive early, not sure what the deal is this year.

wow....wasn't trying to pick a fight....I commented that I wasn't surprised any of those guys weren't drafted.....he said that wasn't the point....I asked what he point was then.....re reqouted that he was surprised they were available in his league again....I thought he had something more of substance to add....but he didn't...

for the record....waivers don't run in any of my leagues until tonight....thus the reason I am still viewing this thread....not trying to be snarky here....

Weird only seeing marlon Mack mentioned once! Any reason, beside IND being a dumpster fire right now, why? He had one touchdown miscalled and was pretty close to getting another one on top of the one he got

This entire thread is about what's available in peoples' leagues ... it's kind of the entire point of it actually.
true and in my initial post I was simply trying to affirm that most of the guys he listed are probably available in most leagues....then he said I missed his point..... and then I asked for clarification in case I was missing something....turns out I wasn't....

Oh man I got sniped on James.

I'm looking at Rams guys now Higbee and Everett. Any opinion on which of them is better to own?

Or should I wait on Houston TE to come back?

OJ Howard is all I have now.

Kittle from SF there too.

really scraping the barrel here
I concur with Weebs about ASJ if he is available. Won't help you this week but will down the road. Between Kittle and the Rams I'd go with Kittle.

Would you rather have Kamara or Smallwood?
i might have given you a different answer about a week ago with everybody writing off Blount.....but it looks like that was premature and Blount will be a significant part of what running game they do have....sooo...I like Kamara....with as bad as the saints D is and the fact that they will probbaly have to score/pass a ton....I think that bodes well for Kamara moving forward....plus it looks like they will give him touches no matter the game script....

How would you guys rank the following, redraft non-ppr.

Cooper Kupp

Corey Davis

Danny Amendola

Marqise Lee
For reference, in my half point PPR league (redraft), I dropped B. Marshall for Corey Davis this morning. All four of the guys mentioned above were available, as well as Agholor/Golladay/Coleman.

I like his talent, and am stashing him hoping he becomes a focal point of the offense as the season progresses.

Yeah I hear you.  I drafted Smallwood to see how that situation would work out and of course it is only 1 week but Blount looks like he is going to be a significant part of Philly's offense.   I just don't want to miss out on Kamara so I pulled the trigger

I just wonder how many touches Kamara is going to get with Ingram and Peterson there. You know Adrian is going to be lobbying for alot more playing time. And Ingram also is a passing game threat right? They really should ship someone out for a draft pick.

not to get sideways....but I have seen this posted a couple times and unless you have a link quoting the coaching staff or front office indicating this....it is pure speculation....
Not speculation. The Eagles needed a corner, no doubt. But they were also really thin at WR last year. Matthews was Wentz best weapon and a good friend. They wouldn't just get rid of him lightly. They have been saying all through camp that Agholar was making huge strides and the first game confirmed that he seems to be over whatever mental issues he was facing.

Speculating,  but trading won't happen. They signed AP and drafted Kamara for a reason I speculate

Payton has all kinds of ridiculous rotations but the bottom line is Kamara is speculatively his best back. Especially dynasty I like Kamara best because I speculate the other two are likely not there next year
Hightower was a fairly good fantasy option in NO, and I speculate Kamara kind of fills that role more than AP does. It's a matter of time, speculatively of course, that Karama is the best back to own in that offense

Josh Gordon probably warrants a mention in this space.  He may be reinstated as early as next week.  Who the hell knows from there.

Josh Gordon is eyeing Sept. 21 as the day he gets reinstated by the NFL. Aren’t you glad the Cleveland Browns kept the former Pro Bowler?

According to the rumor mill, Josh Gordon will be reinstated into the National Football League Sept. 21, which just so happens to be the first day of fall.

Aren’t you glad the Browns kept the troubled wide out, Cleveland?

sucks how many of the high pick players last night impacts my team. here's where i ended up based on a lot of the logic on this thread and across the board. posting this for reference for some of u who were considering similar moves.

14 team 14 player non-ppr salary auction league with a salary cap. winning FAAB bid becomes the player's salary during the season.

my rb's before the waiver last night (start 1 plus flex): j howard, c hyde, rawls, lacy, breida

my wr's before the waiver last night (start 3 plus flex): a brown, l fitz, ar15, ty will (sd), crowder

maxed out my cap on Chris Carson and Nelson Agholor for Eddie Lacy and AR15.

For the RB spot, others available were Cohen, Williams, and Allen. I really didn't want any part of Cohen, I can't ever see there being enough value in Chicago to start both Howard and Cohen. The hype on Cohen looks deserved from a skills perspective, but that one drop aside, Howard is still running strong and Cohen is what he is for this year as long as Howard is healthy, a very good receiving back. Since I was unfortunately vested in the Seattle backfield, it made sense to lock it up with Rawls/Carson instead of Rawls/Lacy. Lacy is a bum. Carson looks like he could really be as good as he looked in the preseason. I'll take that upside over Allen and Williams.

BTW, another owner made Cohen the highest salaried player in our league, almost 30% of cap. This kind of move isn't unusual in the middle of the year for our league for a one week rental types who you can start right away and free up that cap space following week, but this kind of move for a player you have to sit on for a few weeks is rough on the team. He'll have some tough decisions if he needs to replace any of his other players.

For the WR spot I took the guy whom I thought would have the most fantasy meaningful targets between Agholor, Paul Richardson, and Marqis Lee. Lee steps right into AR15's role, but I barely wanted AR15 in that spot with the bad qb play, I don't see Lee having AR15 upside. I may regret not taking Richardson, I really like his upside and how under the radar he is still. Agholor looks to be putting it together, he's a third year receiver, Wentz seem to like him, and I'm a Eagles fan. So, there's that. Will probably start Ty Will (SD) over him for now.

I was able to get Williams and Carson. Someone dropped Rawls but I would have to drop Foreman or Brieda who I think will both have major roles sooner rather than later... Don't know what to do.

To add more confusion in arizona:

Adding more context to an earlier report, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians told Sirius XM NFL Radio Tuesday, Sept. 12, he is hopeful RB David Johnson (wrist) can return "by Thanksgiving or Christmas." In the meantime, Arians hinted RB Andre Ellington would be the player most likely to carry the load for the Cardinals in Johnson's absence.

Glass man won't last too long.

What do you guys think about the following RBs (non-PPR, redraft):

  • Chris Carson
  • Alvin Kamara
  • Kerwynn Williams
How'd you rank 'em?

Allen got more snaps due to killing clock in a blowout. Sure Ellington will get 3rd and long passing downs. Where have they said Woodhead will miss 6 weeks? I'm talking standard scoring as well. Do you play PPR?
FWIW I made a visual of Allen vs. West usage and it seems to support this narrative:

(I've never posted images here before, didn't see a way to directly embed it).

Someone dropped Thielen for Galloday in my league.  Had skipped waivers this week and shot up to 4.  Guess I'll have to spend that now.

Anyone that has dropped Derrick Henry, why did you waste so much draft stock to draft him? You knew this would be the week 1 result. He's a top target for me in any league that has happened.

Murray didn't look that great to me.

Wish I had Henry somewhere...

Just happened in my league. Either dropping Riddick or Decker for him.

He was just cut in my 10 teamer. Excited to scoop him up as a Murray owner.
