Week 11 waiver wire pickups (1 Viewer)

Jordan Matthews seems to have a whole lot more chemistry with Sanchez than Cooper does. If he's available in your league, now would be the time to snag him.
I drafted him in two leagues as my sleeper, but dropped him after a few weeks. Not sure how much tonight is an anomaly. The fact that it's happening in a game where Maclin has been invisible suggests that it may be. After all, it's not like you can count on Maclin going 3/38 every week. I suspect that they may have just seen a match-up they felt they could exploit.

On the other hand, I'd say this clearly suggests he has supplanted Cooper, and WR2 on a high-powered offense is nothing to sneeze at.
FYI, just saw Kelly in his postgame presser and he said Matthews (and Celek) were really the product of the match-ups they saw. Sounds like they felt like they could exploit size more than speed. I'm tempering my expectations. Still, I'm debating whether I should put in a claim for him over Davante Adams. Not as an overreaction to this week, but more of a "rather have WR2 in a good offense than WR3 in a great one." But I think I'll probably stick with Adams.

Remember when everyone rushed to pick up Matthews the last time he scored twice? He didnt score again or put up more than 50 yards for four straight games. For what its worth this is the first time he has been over 50 yards in 6 weeks.

Stanton or McCown? (for Romo owners)

Minnesota and Cleveland DST are actually out there on a couple of my leagues.

Right here. And I dropped him two weeks after picking him up. I think there's more upside now with Sanchez as the QB but people should temper their expectations

I'd like to say Anderson but I'm not sure what he's worth with Ball back and Hillman.
Ball is not back and was not doing a thing before he left. Hillman showed enough to make him more of a nice complimentary back with good third down skills. Believe me you and the Denver brass and Manning know enough about RB effectiveness to see that Anderson IS there best first couple down option. Toot toot ride that train.
Firstly, remember he did that against the Raiders. Doug Martin made a career out of that, a 1 game career that is;)

I like Anderson, but it seems the Broncos have a fever and the only thing curing it is more Ball.
Actually, even if you arbitrary removed the two best games from each of the top 10 RB's in 2012, Martin was still a top 10 RB.

This of course makes great sense, which is why nobody will count Lynch's TD's from yesterday when evaluating his total season performance.

...right?
Call me crazy, but I have a hunch that Martin isn't a great rb. Lol.

It was a joke, let it go. Or should be start discussing how bad the colts o-line is.
I get that it was a joke...but it was based upon incorrect information. This is the SP, no?

For those high on Rudolph (outside of simply needing a TE), what makes you think he will perform any better in that offense than before?
Good question and it's definitely a crap shoot. He didn't play with Bridgewater who now has 6 games of experience under his belt. That's not much but after pitching an 0-fer in his first three games he has a TD pass in each of his last three games (baby steps). I think Rudolph, if healthy, is the most reliable target in their receiving corps. I think most fantasy footballers agree to always target Norv's tight ends.

And, most importantly, at this time of year he definitely has the most talent/upside of any TE on the waiver wire and arguably has the most talent/upside of any available player regardless of position.

He has a better QB throwing him the ball now and someone that is not just looking for Maclin on every play.

Who is more likely to play this week Rudolph or Cameron?
Good question. I will be picking up Chase Ford if Rudolph doesn't play for my TE streamer. Bears DST gives up most points to TE in the league.

But can Jordan Cameron bounce back? Especially when Gordon returns?

As a 1 week pickup, like Jon Stewart as a RB2 at home vs. a terrible ATL run defense. (Allowing most fantasy points/game this season) He has looked quite good since returning from injury Week 7. I don't expect his workload to change given his extensive injury history, but he's looked far more impressive than Williams.

You may not even have to burn a waiver claim.

Perhaps it's due to the weak week on waiver wire. Rather shocked to see John Brown #1 here. Not that I don't love the talent, but Skelton's a big time downgrade from Palmer. Just don't see much upside here personally.

Was 9/84/2 in 3 Skelton starts earlier in year.
think you mean Stanton Craig. he did connect on a big play lastweek, but I agree that it may be a hit and miss each week.

Hope you are right. Got stewart this morning and am forced to start him this week. I agree he has looked good and the matchup could not be better

This is a clear AC forum question, but here's my sneaky advice to a fellow Lions fan:

Matt Prater

Go ahead and laugh. Yes, they are 11-22 for the season as a team, and 1-9 from 40-49. Prater hasn't been great at 7/10 including the do over in Wembley.

Reasons: they have 22 FGA on the year. They have a great WR combo but no consistent run game, and little TE involvement. I expect the offense to continue to suffer breakdowns on drives which will keep the FGA pace around 2.5. I don't expect Prater to continue to miss 30% of his attempts. The block last week was a complete breakdown in the middle, not because of a low kick.

You don't get points for chasing the results of the last 10 weeks. Zig when others zag, look forward not back.

Also, I am sober while writing this.

True, but I think there is merit to discussing the worth/potential of a given WW pickup -- short term and long term -- based on players already held. Dropping someone from the roster is the Yang to a ww p/up's Yin, and is just as much of a factor sometimes, so as long as it doesn't devolve only into purely a "Tell me who to drop and pickup" discussion, I think there's value in getting opinions on value.

An example:

CJ Anderson is a hot WW pickup this week. Debating picking him up for short term value to replace Sims. For me, the move isn't worth it, as with Ball returning, there is too much unknown into how the backfield may shape up, and would rather hold Sims just to see if anything changes for him this week.

Downside is missing out on "the" back in the Denver backfield, and a potential good short term play if you need to make that push into the playoffs.

Upside is that given what's going on in TB, we can more reliably make a call that Martin won't be an issue, and Rainey isn't the answer, so the team may be more motivated to keep feeding Sims through rest of season to see what he's got than Denver is motivated to keep Anderson in if Ball has a great game and when Hillman returns in about 2 weeks.

Open to being wrong, but I think I'd rather see what Sims has to be a potential contributor in the flex through playoffs than the risk of Anderson not being the guy over just the next few weeks.

And those are fine points to discuss...in the AC forum.

Any sleeper WRs? Missed out on Mathews so now stuck starting ####### Crabtree
a lot of talk about jarvis landry in MIA here this past week.

dunno if it helps, but here's who was picked up WR wise in my 14 team redraft league:

matthews

jennings

marquess wilson

landry

gabriel CLE

woods BUF

No one will even touch him in most leagues I'm in. (Can't fault them at this point with his annual tease)

ROS looks really good (vs. ATL, @MN, @NO, TB,Clev). While I don't feel as giddy about him as I did this preseason with Ingram, he has looked very good since returning from injury. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's a solid RB2 PPG rest of the year.

YepI seem to recall him getting up very slowly and limping after at least one play against the Iggles on MNF. Dude just can't handle the abuse.

Absolute desperation play against bad D? OK. I can see it I suppose. No way I go there. In my opinion, odds are legitimately better he gets hurt than gives you worthwhile stats in any game.

Yep. Landry has a high floor tonight.
unfortunately my opponent had landry. I think a good sleeper nobody is mentioning is andrew hawkins. Houston gives up the most fantasy points to WRs this year.

Is he healthy? Been sketchy all week on the injury report.
