Week 12 R.Moss or bust thread...... (1 Viewer)

Basically I wanted to set up a "vote of confidence" area with those who need explosive upside to win their game this weekend.

Moss owners unite!

If you are looking for hopeful options I certainly think Randy Moss is a reasonable bet - going against Houston - ranked 30th in points per game allowed to WR....AND Rusty Smith does have a big arm - only takes one bomb down the sideline to put a smile on your face and a TD on the scoreboard

Sitting him for Blair White...

If you'd told me after the draft that by week 12 I'd be starting Blair White over a healthy Randy Moss... :sigh:

Rusty Smith is trying to show he can play in the NFL. I think Moss has a TD this week.

3 receptions, 45 yards, 1 TD.

I would have benched him for Mike Williams, but I can't when Williams is injured. I decided he had more upside than Ochocinco too, which looks like a good bet though it's certainly not guaranteed. He lost me my game last week when I started him over Williams. God help me.

Benched him for Burleson in PPR - not sure Moss could do better than 3-35 at this point.

With both Nicks and Collie out I don't really have other options. Definitely regret giving up one of my three first round rookie picks next year for him though.

Rusty Smith or not, if Moss doesnt produce adequate numbers today he is really droppable. in 10-12 team redraft leagues. Houston is one of the worst 2ndaries Ive seen in quite awhile and i do not see how Moss doesnt do something here. I am rolling with him as my #2

FWIW, Coach Fisher has raved about Rusty Smith and his practice habits this week. Said he hasn't missed a call all week in practice and Moss even worked with him seperately after practice. Smith knows this could be his best chance ever to win a starting job. He has a very strong arm and the work ethic Jeff likes. When Rusty got in last week, he actually threw the ball to Moss and looked his way a lot. He had about a 40 yd TD called back on a bogus off pass interference call. I actually think Moss has a good game, that being said, I'm probably not gonna play him.

I REALLY REALLY want to start him over Keiland Williams in my main league, but I just can't pull the trigger. Against Houston is a really nice situation, but we know nothing

about how his new QB will do.

I fell for the "the team they're playing is horrible against the pass so he just HAS to do well!" argument last week. Won't do it again. I'll roll the dice on Nate Washington instead and hope for the best.

Of course, with Moss on my bench, you know he'll go for 100 and 2 TD's......

I have Mike Williams (TBB) in there now over Moss but ever since I traded for Moss in week 8, I've started him and been burned. I know the first week I bench him he will go off, that's just how these things work. Still debating on whether or not to start him over MW.

Moss is going against the worst pass defense in the League. He is playing for a contract next year.

He has a young QB looking to secure a place in this League, who is not afraid to throw it downfield. If I were him, I would be looking for my HOF WR early and often.

If Moss does not produce here, I will drop him for Sinorice Moss before the final horn sounds.................................

See also, last week. Moss is a write-off this year. I don't know what the future holds, but I'm stuck with him for the time being.

These same justifications have been in play in other games this year (last week). Starting Moss this week is a lottery ticket. I'm not knocking those who are starting him but that's what it is, just a lottery ticket. And in the end, even if you hit, it still might not be enough.

Starting Moss over Nate Burleson, Lee Evans and Derrick Mason in one league. Division on the line, too. I'm not sure it's the right decision, but I'll take my chances. Good luck to others with the same blind faith.

just switched him in for H. Ward. considering the wind in buffalo and houston's d, i reckon what the hell. he is still R. Moss.

I think it's the right move considering we now know Burleson's fate this week, Evans up against Pittsburgh and Derrick Mason never a no brainer start these days although he could have a decent day against Tampa.I think considering who the Titans are playing and the potential Randy Moss brings to the table, for you it's the right decision when considering risk/reward.Good luck on winning your division!FWIW, I'm starting Nate Washington, so if you go "SHOOT, WRONG RECEIVER," know that someone else is happy! :goodposting:

Well, Moss has 3 catches so far, and Nate a big, fat ####### zero...... JHMFC. :goodposting:

It's getting pretty clear that Randy Moss isn't going to be helping anyone's fantasy team this year. On pace for 33/493/7.

The 2nd catch was definitely caught off the ground but was inside the 2 minute warning and the Titans were able to get another play off before the booth challenge. He had a drop early in the 2nd quarter that would have been a nice 15 or 20 yard gain. Also a red zone target on a very badly thrown ball.
