Week 12 Weather: Jets-Bills in Detroit, Monday at 7pm (1 Viewer)

I believe this came up once before with a wildfire relocated game and it was not televised on a Monday but they did one on a Tuesday and it was shown. Due to mnf exclusivity.

I would assume we are in for a significant rankings shakeup. Obviously, playing indoors on a fast track is a lot more appealing than the sloppy weather they were looking at in Buffalo. I think everyone is in play now... Vick and Orton in 2-QB leagues, Decker, F-Jax and of course Sammy are all looking nice.

@AdamSchefter: Jets-Bills, Monday night, 7 pm, in Detroit, per league source.
Ill be there
Buffalo already treated Ford Field like a home game while upsetting the Leos earlier. Have you heard anything about tickets?
not yet, I hope its handled better than the NYG/Minny game where the scalpers got em all and the stadium was half empty.

Im sure that they will honor the bills/nyj game ticket holders

What do they charge for a game like this? I can't imagine a huge demand for a Bills-Jets game in Detroit, especially in a season where the Lions have been good. I'd imagine it's going to be a half empty stadium no matter what.

IIRC the NYG/Minny face value was 20 bucks.

Rumors on talk radio is they will be free, no idea, how they pull that off, or if you can only goto Ford Field box office to get tix

Buffalo fans or anyone for that matter.

Why wasn't this game played in Toronto considering the history of the Bills playing some home games up north and the proximity?

I doubt Toronto got hit nearly as hard by lake effect snow.

Also if their were/are other reasons why Toronto wouldn't work then how come the NFL decided on Detroit instead of Pittsburgh or Cleveland who are a little closer and would allow fans of both teams less distance to travel?

Just curious.

Probably not feasible to arrange for passports for all the Jets players and coaches.

they chose Detroit due to proximity, indoor, turf (won't chew up other teams grass), and Detroit has a history of filling in in these situations before and it worked.

I was wondering because not only are Pittsburgh and Cleveland closer and I know the Browns play away this Sunday and the Browns field crew was voted the best in the NFL so they could easily turn around the playing surface in time because the Browns play away again next Sunday, against the Bills oddly enough where this whole fiasco may replay itself.

Also don't forget the Lions always play home for Thanksgiving so they are going to have to turn that around in less than three days to get things ready for the Lions Thanksgiving day game.

Mainly I was thinking of the Bills and Jets fans who would want to attend the game and how Pittsburgh and Cleveland would work out better. Forgot about the stupid Visa that Americans need to go to Canada. How asinine. To go to CANADA Americans need a GD Visa. Makes me sick to see the cretins do that under the pretext of protecting us. BS but anyway the turf argument isn't as logical as making the game closer to Buffalo Bill and NY Jet fans.

Actually it seems to me the Bills could be at a big disadvantage because they will have only had maybe 1 practice before game time, and that in a strange facility. Also I think the players and coaches haven't even been able to meet for film study and group sessions.

They practiced last night and will again today. Light practice/walk through Sunday. All the players have team issued iPads and the game plans were pushed out Wednesday with positional coach conferences calls Thursday. The Bills coaches were at the team facility all week coordinating this.

Sub optimal but they're trying to make it work.

I actually think this could be a positive weekend for the Bills. While it's very disruptive and players tend to be creatures of habit, the flip side is its like a midseason minicamp. With the right leadership from coaches and veterans this hardship could be something that bonds them.

Bills coaches/players are low key about the latter. They're pretty cognizant this inconvenience to them pales in comparison with what some Buffalonians are enduring.

It does look like this game should be available on Sunday Ticket. There is a placeholder for it on channel 706.

That said... My signal is out, due to lousy weather.

Not sure about a 4 man rush, and no spy, etc. against Vick on 3rd down. It worked out there, but that's a recipe for an easy first down later in the game.

Wow... There can't be more than 15k butts in seats.
Weve had 50 mph winds all day, people probably dont want to drive down to the city from the burbs in that to watch two teams they have no rooting interest in.
Oh, I'm well aware of the weather, being a couple hours West. Heck, I didn't feel like driving 2.5 hours to go to the game. (Losing $$ from and already shortened work week contributed, too.) I was just hoping to see a nice full stadium. Wishful thinking...
