I think if you have the roster space I'd still throw a low bid at him. If either one of those guys continues to be limited, the door opens for McKnight. He's kind of an interesting hybrid between the two. Just has to learn better pass protection and picking up blitzes.

In dynasty leagues Riley Cooper is worth rostering. He had 5 catches for 75 yards and a TD last night. DeSean Jackson is probably gone from the Eagles next season and Cooper just has to beat out perennial 3rd stringer Jason Avant and the oft injured Steve Smith to line up opposite Maclin.
Not that it changes the premise of what you are saying, but why are you assuming Steve Smith is back with Philly? Either way, I'd imagine they bring someone in to compete, but I do like Riley Cooper
I was assuming the worst case scenario, that Smith will still be in the mix, although I don't think it is likely he will return either. I find it better to take it into account rather than to assume that he is gone.
aren't you assuming Desean is gone?

Vereen could have some value.
Maybe.....but would the Pats ever use one back enough. BJGE looked good still and there's still Woodhead. And what happened to Riddley? Did he just fall out of favor? One thing for Vereen's is the high draft pick (3rd I think) that they used on him. Long shot but worth an add.Probably a better add than Spiller/Johnny White or even Gerhart vs. ATL defense.

Oakland DST based on the Cutler news
got my eye on this
meh Chicago has played conservative all year due to Forte, their OLine, and their defense. They will do moreso with Hanie. Oakland has a great running game and will also play conservative (see last week). I can see a low scoring grind it out running the clock game.
You know, Hanie didn't play half bad against the Packers last year. They may not be as conservative as you think. And for leagues that start two QBs, Hanie might be quite the pickup this week.

Let others blow their wad on Spiller and scoop up Johnny White for free or $1. Shhhh!
Spiller might not have yet been very successful in the NFL, but there is no questioning his talent. What he does with it is a different story. I have never heard anything suggesting White has the talent to succeed where Spiller hasn't even proven that he can't yet.

Yes, because from everything I have read that is a given. There is an outside shot Smith might be back, but I just don't see that with Jackson (if I did I would not have mentioned Cooper in this thread).

In deep dynasty leagues you have to take a flier on Shane vereen
I agree but he is rostered in every league I am in with rosters ranging from 24-30. People generally invested a 1st round pick on him, so they have been reluctant to cut him. You might be able to find him, however in shallower leagues.

I think he fell a bit due to Ridley coming on towards the end of preseason. I started to see Ridley being drafted in the 1st ahead of Vareen and then Vareen going in the mid to late second. I have a feeling he is unrostered in more leagues then he should be.

In my start 2QB dynasty with 24 man rosters, I was able to pick up Vereen and Ridley last week off of waivers. Both players sat out there for several weeks. Although this is a league with 2 owners that are just not good so they have guys like Seneca Wallace rostered which deepens the pool a bit.

Is anyone noticing Simpson while AJ Green is out?

If he's available, get him, he could be for WRs what Michael Bush has been for RBs.

Also Santana Moss if he was dropped.

Someone dropped him on Thursday and I happily scooped him up shortly after that!!

Definitely a reach for now but what about Da'Rell Scott?

So far, it does not sound positive that Bradshaw will play Monday, Ware suffered a concussion and Jacobs was ineffective against the Eagles. He could have a great opportunity if Bradshaw is out.

Seattle D - Home vs Was, Home vs Phi (could be a bad matchup), home vs StL, @ Chi. Defense by Committee
this is def worth a add even if you don't need a Def, just so you don't have to face them.
SEA & NE look like a good committee down the stretch, and both may be available in most leagues. Thinking about dropping Det (vs GB, @NO, MN, @OAK) for them.
I agree. I have the Patriots and am hoping to add the Seahawks tomorrow. That could be a very good 1-2 punch the rest of the way.

What about TEN def for weeks 15 & 16 (vs IND & JAX).Im also ready to drop DET def. Theyve been good but their matchups are dreadful

I like this, probably not too difficult to grab with their next two matchups

I have a gut feeling Donald Driver is going to put a great game in a shootout against Detroit. Came off his best game of the year yardage wise last week. Available in all of my leagues I might pull the trigger and throw him into the lineup just for this week.

How about Joe McKnight?
He deserves some consideration. I thought he played well. I guess his value depends on Green/LT's injury

Negatory Ghostrider, this report states LT is out again:Rotoworld - Shonn Greene (ribs) returned to a full practice on Tuesday.LaDainian Tomlinson (knee) remains out. Greene is fully expected to play against the Bills this week, though coach Rex Ryan has yet to address the carry distribution after Joe McKnight's breakout game. With Tomlinson's status in doubt again, McKnight could be the choice on passing downs with Greene handling early-down work. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/220900/shonn-greene-(ribs)-returns-to-full-practice

I keep seeing references to McKnight's "breakout game" last week... Do people mean the same one where he went 16 carries for 59 yds?? That's a very Greene-esque performance, is it not? Yeah, he also caught passes....those that would otherwise go to LT. I'm just dubious of any Jet RB being all that productive this year

Well as long as LT is out someone has to catch passes and open up the O and that sure the hell isn't Greene.

I'd like to share the enthusiasm for adding McKnight. But it appears that Greene will be back this weekend. I don't see McKnight having more than 8 to 10 touches max, and probably a decent number of receptions, but it's awfully hard to plug and play a guy that touches the ball that little and has such a low probability for a TD. If I could guess, he'd be good for 4/17 rushing and 5/25 receiving this weekend. Not bad for a desparation play, but not much upside imo.

Titus Young has been productive last few weeks, game should be a shootout, and Calvin is questionable.

Vincent Brown had two good games then disappeared at Chicago though still had 4 targets including one in the red zone. I would not want to bet on Rivers but they have it all to play for and a great match up at home vs Den.

A guy I'm scooping in deep dynasty leagues is Jordan Norwood. He actually started the game, not Massaquoi. It's a situation worth monitoring as their could be room for someone to break out there. Dropped Niles Paul so it wasn't like I gave up a lot of value. Really what they are lacking is someone to stretch the field and Norwood can do that to open up things for Little, Watson, etc...

Santana Moss is my pick. He was available on all my waiver wires and I scooped him up in each one. He could be a real gem during playoff time.
