Week 13 Suicide Pick Strategy (1 Viewer)

Denver took out a few more in week 12, but some of us are still hanging in there. Let's discuss the possible picks for week 13...and maybe beyond. The big favorites this week appear to be Dallas at home against Seattle and Tennessee at Detroit. Buffalo is a distant third choice, but they've been unpredictable.

I keep waiting for Detroit to finally win one. Any chance it could be this week? Fortunately, I still have Dallas, so I think I'll go with them this week and wait to play Tennessee at home against Cleveland next week. Either way, no other games look as "safe" as these.

What are your thoughts on this week?...or plans for the following weeks since we're getting near the end?

My 2 safest appear to be Tennessee @ Detroit and Indy @ Cleveland.

$91,000 to the winner ... 204 people left. :goodposting:

I'm hesitant, but am going with Tennessee.
Same here. I don’t like picking against a winless team this late in the season, but I believe Tenn is my safest choice. I don’t have Dallas. I have Indy but I like them better for week 14 or 15. I don’t like to “save” a team, you end up saving yourself from winning, but I think Tenn is just as solid or more solid than Indy, so based on future picks, I am going with Tenn, and hoping for the best.

I'd like to pick TEN this week but a little hesitant. Detroit on Thanksgiving Day always plays tough. And this week is their Super Bowl. Be wary.

My three choices this week are Indy, Tenn, and the Jets. Indy is possible to use in Weeks 14 and 15 as well, at home against Cincy and Detroit. Tenn. is also good for those same weeks at home for Cleveland and maybe for a road game in Houston. This week looks like a Jets vs a Denver team that is just horrible right now. Forget Buffalo, to unpredictable.

Wow! 204 people left!? With that many people left, there are going to be a lot that are going to make it through all 17 weeks. I know you shouldn't focus on saving teams early in the season, but with only 5 weeks remaining you've got to have the last 5 weeks planned ahead.

what about miami over st louis? also contemplating ravens over bengals. id like to save indi and tennesee for future matchups

I went with DAL. Still have TEN available as well but the after this week against SEA, DAL should be unusable with any confidence. TEN still has CLE at home next weekend which is a possibility. I figure TEN is a lock and DAL is barely 2nd place to them as the lock of the week.

Another game I looked at was MIA @ STL, but with SJax a possibility for this week, I wasn't about to project his injury status on Wednesday. They are a different team when he's in the lineup.

I have the same plan: Week 13 DAL, Week 14 TEN, Week 15 INDY (vs. DET)...all look to be solid picks. Week 16 is going to be the big question mark.

Can't say I like picking away teams, but Tenn over the Lions does look solid and at this point in the season, a lot less choices are available. From what articles I read, the Tenn players aren't happy about their performance vs the Jets, so I'm banking on a rebound game for them. Detroit has looked bad on some Thanksgiving Day games in the past... Worst case, if it doesn't pan out for Tenn, all the more alcohol and food to eat that night... lol (and if Tenn does win... probably just the same, but in celebration...)

The game also isn't a division game, which is a plus... That's a line I won't cross. ( Thankfully for following that last week due to the Oak upset of Den... you just never can know for sure how division rivalry games will turn out. )

I don't have Dallas left but I'm heading down the same strategy. I think I'm going Balt this week @Cin and then Ten and Indy.Despite what other above have said, I also like Buffalo this week too. I think they may have righted the ship and always play well at home. (Well, almost always.)

I thought about taking Buffalo this week, but I decided to go with Tennessee.

Looking forward I'm thinking Indy week 14, Miami week 15, NO week 16 and GB week 17...

Detroit's record on Thanksgiving:2007: GB 37 @ DET 26 L

2006: MIA 27 @ DET 10 L

2005: ATL 27 @ DET 7 L

2004: IND 41 @ DET 9 L

2003: GB 14 @ DET 22 W

2002: NE 20 @ DET 12 L

2001: GB 29 @ DET 27 L

2000: NE 9 @ DET 34 W

They've won just twice in the Millen era, and the team in 2000 hadn't been Millenized just yet. There aren't many better bets than picking against Detroit this week.

I'm going with DAL, this is the last good matchup for them this year.
