Jene, you by chance getting a affiliate/referral kickback for signups on this?
No. Just the "expert" setting the curve for payouts in the freeroll. It'll work much the same way for the rest of the season.
Right on. Looked like it had some sort of referral code in the link. Looks like a great contest. I've already got a funded account over there but this seems like a nice secondary play too!

As a Dayton Flyer, I get to beat a Xavier guy. Sign me up!
You'll be even more bothered to learn that I went to UD as an undergrad. Grew up in Cincinnati loving Byron Larkin and all things Xavier since that point, though, and never turned my back on my Musketeers.

Kind of confused, is there a specific group we have to be in? Do you pick a new roster every week?
FanDuel contests run weekly, and you'd pick a new roster within the cap every week you enter a league. The link takes you to the FBG Freeroll contest, which runs during Week 1. I'm not certain what the entry fee for the contests during the regular season will be. I believe they'll be $5 entries, but I'm not certain. I'll likely keep this thread open all season to post my results, team thoughts and links and reminders for anyone who might want to jump into the weekly contests.

noticed that haven't pdated a few things.....like they still have Kitna in there with like the top 10 guys and stuff.....

Signed up, sounds like fun. Can't play any Saints or Packers in week 1?
:goodposting:
I thought it had something to do with the deadline of the contest, but I'm seeing other contests/leagues with that game available. I think it'll be hard to add that game with folks already entering teams.
According to the site rosters can be modified any time up until the games start.

Yeah I thought that was strange too, I saw TO in there for the Bengals.

That's correct. Some will undoubtedly not revisit their rosters, however, and it's usually not a good idea to change the rules after opening signups and entry forms.

Just curious what yall think the best way to utilize the draft dominator to create cheatsheet using fanduel scoring rules.

I set it up with Auction turned ON and $200 and set scoring to Week 1 only as a baseline to help discover the VALUE at fanduel...

Anybody have any ideas that could help utilize the FBG tools to win at fanduel?

Thanks in advance :)

No. Just the "expert" setting the curve for payouts in the freeroll. It'll work much the same way for the rest of the season.
Jene's right of course that there is no referral / kickback / whatever to Jene or Footballguys for these free roll signups. We are however being paid by FanDuel to advertise their game. Just like NBC or ESPN is. Wanted to be totally clear on that.J

Just signed up for this today.

Anyone else getting an advertising tool bar at the bottom of their FBG's page now as a result? Wasn't there before I signed up.

:hot:

EDIT: Just saw the thread about the advertising tool bar. Apparently this is not related to the FanDuel contest, but instead a new FBG's advertising method. Yuck

I played two weeks, won 5 dollars, didn't cash out and forget to pay attention. Hopefully I do a better job this year.

edit: Just logged in. My 5 bucks is still there. sweet.

I played once last year and came in 11th...one spot out of the regular money payouts! Same week that they had the big scoring change controversy when the Vikings/Eagles game was rescheduled. Might have to check it out again this year.

Looks like fun. thx.

Still plenty of time to sign up for the freeroll. The NO-GB game isn't included in the opening week contest, so you'll be able to tweak your team through the weekend.

Good luck.

If anyone has questions about this (or wants to tell us what you like or don't like about Fanduel), I'm a Product Director for them. You can reply here or email me at alex@fanduel.com.

For those who aren't familiar with Fanduel, here are the highlights:

-One week fantasy football contests.

-Standard contests range from $1 entry fee up to $535, and you can enter as many you want each week.

-Contests range from 2 person (h2h) up to tournaments with thousands of entrants.

-Deposits can be made by Paypal or credit card and withdrawals by Paypal or check (for $250+)

-The freeroll posted in this thread is completely free and will pay the cash prizes into your account on Tuesday

-The Fanduel Fantasy Football Championship (FFFC) is our largest tournament with weekly qualifiers ($10 per entry) and a total prize pool of $200,000...and the winner of each qualifying tournament (weeks 1-12) gets a free trip to Las Vegas for the finals

-Our next largest tournament is the Blitz...a one week contest (run every week) that is $100 to enter with a $20,000 prize pool (capped at 222 entrants).

Regarding some of the other issues raised in this thread:

-Most of our tournaments start on Sunday, so the NO-GB game isn't part of those. We do offer some Thursday start contests as well.

-Once contests are posted, player availability and prices aren't adjusted, so that it's fair to all participants. We will update prices for week 1 contests though.

-I'll take a look at the players who were still listed on incorrect teams. That's something we would correct prior to game time.

On August 31, I set up shop and created a team for FBG Freeroll for week one.

Logged back in this morning. Ten minutes on, I still cannot find my team. I must be doing something wrong. I looked under the FFFL tab. I looked under all the sub-menus for My Account.

Just not finding the FBG Freeroll stuff anymore, let alone finding my entry.

When I follow the link from the OP, I get a page to create an account, but I'm already logged in.

One thing is certain: If I wanted to add money to my account, I'd be able to do that with ease.

Is there a special page I should have bookmarked?

Here's the main page for the freeroll. The league number is S767501. It's still visible on my account page. Is it possible that you set the team but didn't submit it? There's an extra step in there somewhere I think.Let me know if you're still having trouble. Thanks.

Topes - What's your user name? One possibility is that you never hit 'enter' to submit the lineup you selected. If you let me know your user name, I'll take a look (will look for username 'topes' now on the chance that you used the same one as here.

Topes - Found it. In 'My Account' in the 'Upcoming Games' section. You're entered and lineup was submitted properly. It will move up to 'Live Games' once the contest starts (10 minutes before game time of earliest included game).

Interesting. Logged out. THEN logged in from the link in the OP (Existing User dealio).

(I had just logged in via Fanduel.com earlier, when I hadn't been able to locate FBG contest.)

There's the FBGs page. But my team isn't there. But it is. I have to click the USE EXISTING button beneath the roster entry interface.

If, from within the resultant popover, I click the hyperlink to my "seat" (team), the page goes to a broken menu, and I have no team and no FBG contest. But if I click the button within the popover to use the existing team, it populates that team onto the page.

<<< later on >>>

On my page, Upcoming Games is just text. It's not a link. And there are no games listed. Hmmm...<<< later on >>>

Figured it out.

ADBLOCK PLUS. Disabled AdBlock Plus for fanduel.com, and now my team is right there in Upcoming Games.

HTH, for anybody experiencing similar issues.

Topes - One more follow up on this...Our programmers all apparently use Adblock Plus with no problems on Fanduel. Our lead tech guy thinks you may just have the settings cranked all the way up for Javascript...so lowering those settings a bit might be another way to get things to work without turning it off completely.

There are some very good values on the board this week and though I considered a number of different combinations, here’s what (barring a major late week injury development) my roster will look like for Week 1.

QB Matt Schaub 8200

RB Jamaal Charles 8700

RB Chris Wells 6300

WR Larry Fitzgerald 7700

WR Vincent Jackson 6700

WR Santonio Holmes 6600

TE Owen Daniels 5300

PK Stephen Gostkowski 5300

TD Arizona Cardinals 5000

You have until the games begin on Sunday to enter or edit your team. Best of luck everyone.

Signed up last year and it started a SPAM avalanche. Took multiple requests to finally get unsubscribed from them.

Not going back, not worth it.

I cant friggin find it...and I'm an IT guy.

I log in and it takes me to the main page. I see no freerolls etc. I click the link in this thread and it asks me to sign up. ugh...

I haven't had trouble getting back to the league from my account page, but others have had the same difficulty. This link has been a useful workaround for others.

In addition to the exclusive FBG freeroll, we're offering:
