Week 2 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (6 Viewers)

1 QB, 6 point for passing TD
Dak Prescott - home vs Giants
Drake May - at Dolphins

Dak looked good against the Eagles, and could have had a big win if CeeDee Lamb makes a couple more catches. Drake Maye looked bad last week against the Cardinals at home.

I'm also worried about the Sun in Miami for a 1 PM game. Weather forecast is for thunderstorms in the morning becoming widespread in the afternoon. Sounds like it would be cloudy, but the forecast UV Index is "Extreme" - sounds like a very sunny day when the storm clouds are not there. The game where McDaniel was officially crowned a Football Galaxy Brain was a 1 PM home game in September.

I am going Dak. I have Maye on several teams, but he is going to have to show me a good week before I start him over anyone decent.

Here is a tough one, for me at least.

Start Matthew Golden tonight or roll the dice on London? I have other options, but these are my best two.
PPR?
London had a limited practice yesterday and Golden had two targets last week.

It really depends on your options because, you likely have someone who will get at least two targets (worst case scenario thinking).

1 PT PPR…start 2:

Tyreek v NE
DeVonta Smith @ KC
Deebo Samuel @ GB
Jamo Williams v CHI
I think Deebo is an auto start here. 10 targets and a carry is WR1 work. He's still a talented player and better than your other options.

I wasn't terribly interested in Tyreek before the new domestic assault allegation. nlNot going anywhere near him now.

Devonta is a safer planet than Jameson IMO. My guess is the Eagles will have to throw more than 23 times this week so a return to 6-7 targets, 65-75 yards and 0.5 TD with some upside is a good back of the napkin estimate.

I'm still a huge Jameson stan but the Lions were just awful last week. Was it the new OC? knocking the rust off? Running into a buzzsaw Packer team that got an enormous morale, and talent boost days before the game? IDK. But Jameson still saw 5 targets and a carry so I expect similar volume to Devonta with more upside.

The "smart" move is probably

Deebo>Devonta>Jameson

If you want to chase a little more upside

Deebo>Jameson>Devonta

Ppr, but I don't expect the Packers to only throw 6 times in the second half.

Standard scoring, wrestling with a few flex options, just need one

D.Smith @ Chiefs - week 1, wasn't a big part of what they did but this might be more of a passing game
T.McMillan @ Cardinals - decent-ish week 1, not really sure what to expect
Hollywood vs Eagles - 16 targets last week, sheesh, yet I still don't trust him
KW3/Charbs @ Steelers - bit of a mess which I feared, struggle to trust either now

Thanks!

PPR last flex spot:

K9 vs Steelers - still not convinced this is suddenly an equal split backfield. Even so, 10-14 touches not a lame play either.
Keenan Allen @ LV - old man juice
Odunze @ DET - not sure I'm yet convinced

I don't either. But, how do you view Golden's target ceiling?

If these were my only two options, I guess I would go with Golden.

Golden>London

14-team non-PPR, start 3 WRs. Ladd and Jamo are my top two. For WR3, my options are:

Golden vs. WAS
Tillman @ BAL

GB plays tonight so I need to make the decision in the next few hours. All the rankings, projections, etc say Golden but I don't really get it. I hope that by the end of the season he emerges as the true WR1 on that offense, but last week it seemed like the Packers were still in "too many mouths to feed" mode, where you never knew which of the multiple pass-catching options would do well in a particular game.

At TE, my options are:

Henry @ MIA
JJohnson vs SF

Leaning Henry as the safer option, though I am an underdog so maybe I should go with Johnson's higher upside?

Tough one. If it were PPR Marquis would be an option, in standard probably not.

It looks like each Seattlt RB will see between 10-15 opportunities which, is nice but, I don't love the matchup and I have no way to decide which one.

Devonta is a 6.5 target, 70 yard, 0.5 TD guy. He will have a few big games and he will have a few duds. It's a guessing game with no inside info.

Tet seems like the only one in line for true WR1 opportunities and it looks like a decent matchup.

Tet>KW (total guess), Devonta

I'll start:

PPR I need two:
Marquise Brown v PHI
Jameson Williams v CHI
D'Andre Swift @ CHI

ATM I have Brown on the bench in a tough matchup but I am wondering if he should be a starter because it's PPR.

Small correction, Swift is @ Lions

I go Williams, Swift, Brown. For some reason, think Lions come out swinging at their first home game. They're all pretty close though

PPR last flex spot:

K9 vs Steelers - still not convinced this is suddenly an equal split backfield. Even so, 10-14 touches not a lame play either.
Keenan Allen @ LV - old man juice
Odunze @ DET - not sure I'm yet convinced
I have no problem with KW in this situation. I don't love it because of the matchup and the uncertainty at the position but, you're the right; he probably has 10-14 opportunity downside.

Personally I like what I saw between Caleb & Odunze. He seems to get plenty of plays called for him and he seems to be the guy Caleb looks for when a play breaks down. That's a good combo IMO.

Keenan may be having a resurgence, to the eternal chagrin of those of us who roster Ladd, but I still think being run first, run often is in the DNA of Harbaugh and Roman. I want to see the Chargers be pass happy again before I start to buy in.

As always, go with your gut, not mine.

Odunze>KW>Keenan

Standard scoring Non-PPR league. I need to start one of these players in my flex:

Hill vs NE - only managed 40 yards last week; literally anyone else I played would have outscored him; bounce back at home?
Deebo vs GB - Thursday night game so I need to make the call here; seems to be heavily involved while he is healthy
Etienne vs CIN - I'm normally not a chase the pts guy, but he flashed and Tank is no longer in the picture

Tough call. I usually lean toward RB but didn't last week as there was more uncertainty in JAX.

Thanks in advance for all the replies!

ETN for me and it's not all that close, should be heavily involved.

My only problem with Tillman is it's not PPR. Baltimore is going to score a lot this season can the Browns keep up? I don't think this is a trap game either.

But, volume is king and, I agree that GB is going to distribute the ball a lot. Golden will probably have good year end numbers but, will they bee consistent or boom/bust? I'm leaning towards the latter at the moment. Maybe this is his week, maybe not.

Tillman>Golden

Someone posted this question earlier. In my opinion, Henry is who we think he is; A 35 to 40 yd per game guy with a TD. Every four games or so. He'll occasionally have a weird multi-touchdown game, but I don't want to predict that.

Juwan is also probably who we think he is. However he's in an entirely new situation. New quarterback, new offense, new head coach. So, in my opinion, with Henry as your other option, I'll roll the dice that Rattler has eyes for Johnson.

Juwan>Henry

0.5 PPR. I seemingly have a ton of WR2/3s lol. Pick 2, and a 3rd if you'd start the last one over Kamara vs. 49ers.
  • DJ Moore vs. Lions
  • Hollywood Brown vs. Eagles
  • Pearsall vs. Saints
  • Devonta Smith vs. Chiefs
  • Waddle vs. Patriots

I have trouble benching Kamara. It's a tough defense but he is getting the volume and opportunity is king. If you are dead set on taking a chance I probably lean Pearsall, even with Mac Jones. He is a clear WR1 (Moore may be second fiddle to Odunze and Brown should see a regression now the Chiefs have had a week to prepare for life without Worthy).

Kamara>Pearsall

I too agree in keeping Kamara as my flex. For my 2 WR's you would lean Persall and Moore then?

Did, I misread? My bad.

I lean Pearsall but not with a ton of confidence. Moore would be my second choice because I think he has a lot of upside but, if you're risk averse then Devonta is probably my second choice.

Pearsall>Moore>Devonta

I have a few scattered across various leagues.

PPR - Javonte Williams vs NYG or Jaylen Warren vs SEA?

1.5 PPR for TEs - David Njoku at BAL or Jake Ferguson vs NYG?

6 pts per passing TD league - Mayfield at HOU or Fields vs BUF?

At TE, my options are:

Henry @ MIA
JJohnson vs SF

I understand Chaka's reasoning, but I think defenses will adjust and start rotating coverage to Johnson.

I would go Henry here. MIA is a dumpster fire and Henry has a much better chance at a TD.

Jameson Williams v CHI

Brown if you want the floor, Williams if you want the ceiling.
