Week 2 Injury Thread (1 Viewer)

Like Tommy John surgery?
That is definitely a possibility and at this stage in his career I would think that Ben strongly considers retirement.   On the other hand it may be a slight tear which would sideline him a few weeks.   We'll know more at Tomlin's presser tomorrow afternoon.

Any word on James Conner?  Heard he hurt his knee, left game and never returned.

Edit to add Damien WIlliams.  Any word on him?

just got a Sleeper alert that the Steelers announced that Big Ben had an MRI, needs surgery and will miss the season. :(

Undergoing MRI today.  Normally results would be given by Tomlin in his Tuesday afternoon press conference but they released the news about Ben today so maybe no news is good news when it comes to Conner.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin announced Ben Roethlisberger will undergo season-ending elbow surgery later this week.

An MRI Sunday night confirmed the bad news for Roethlisberger, who had been hoping to avoid surgery "at all costs." With Roethlisberger headed to I.R., Pittsburgh's offense will now be in the hands of 2018 third-rounder Mason Rudolph, who showed promise by throwing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 12-of-19 passing in relief of Big Ben Sunday versus the Seahawks. It's a downgrade for all Steelers skill players including lead receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and workhorse James Conner, who also suffered an injury in the loss to Seattle. Rudolph and Teddy Bridgewater (who is filling in for an injured Drew Brees in New Orleans) will be hot waiver commodities on the super-flex circuit this week. Already on the decline at age 37, Roethlisberger's career could be in jeopardy.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Drew Brees is slated to miss six weeks with a torn thumb ligament.

Brees couldn't grip the ball after jamming his thumb in a collision with Aaron Donald in Sunday's loss to the Rams. He'll need surgery to fix it, which will require a six-week recovery. A model of durability throughout his career, Brees hasn't logged more than two absences in a season (with most of those coming in meaningless Week 17 games) since 2003. Teddy Bridgewater is a capable backup with 29 games of starting experience, though his presence is still a downgrade for the likes of Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and likely Jared Cook as well.
