week 2 WW Defense (1 Viewer)

nice post raiderfan, bills are a scary matchup for the run heavy raiders. bills were a sieve vs the run last yr. it could pay off, though, if the amish rifle starts slangin tds and the bills get a lead.
Picked up Bills earlier in the week and not liking it now. Any thoughts on the TB/MIN game? Considering HOU or WAS but hate the Skins and have Fitz and Marshall. Liked DEN until I saw Champ and Elvis out, what are you guys thinking?

I asked the question elsewhere but is the San Fran defense going to be worthwhile? They got a couple of decent matchups. Are they a legit defense or just spot starts?

Redskins and Bills should get their chances. Not sold on Kolb and Jason Campbell just stinks
Gotta like the Bills considering the Raiders are traveling to the east coast and they kept Charles in check. Also, Cassel is a good hit to the ribs from being out of the game. Of course, that could help the Chiefs the way he started last week. Similar issue for the Skins as a nice option with Zona coming east and they did a good job of handling the Giants O. The Giants have more weapons than the Cards. The worry is the Skins offense putting their defense in bad situations because I'm waiting for Grossman and Hightower to turn the ball over. Between the two I lean towards the Bills.
Is the talent level really there on Bills D? Havent watched a Bills game in about 15 years.Thoughts on MIN vs TB? Was thinking about MIN.
Vikings Linebacker EJ Henderson might be out. Thats bad news for Minnesota.

Going w bills. Raiders play on short week, traveling to east coast, Campbell sucks.
Good luck with that. Raiders OL and DL are playing great right now. Buffalo was the 32nd ranked Defense from last year. What are their key additions? Marcus Dareus, Merriman, Morrison? Really? What are you expecting? Some sort of Bills domination? The bills defense allowed 6.2 ypc to the Chiefs in a game they dominated. What do you think the Raiders do to that line? The Raiders D got 5 sacks, 6 hurries, and an INT. Their front seven is going to suffocate the Bills runners. They are the #1 rush defense, giving up just 38 yards last week. Campbell sucks? Maybe so, but maybe the coaching staff said, why bother passing when we can run it down their throats, (which they did). Why not kill the clock and salt the game away? The Bills DST waiver wire crowd is going off of media bias that the Raiders suck so play the opposing D against them. Not very clear analysis imo. again good luck with your Buffalo DST.
As long as we're looking at last years stats and making them gospel:- Denver was the 26th ranked rushing offense last year- Denver was tied for 9th worst last year in sacks allowedSo much for the vaunted Raiders D.As far as the Bills defense:- Dareus is a huge addition. 3rd pick in the draft...remember? The guy will be a major run stuffer.- They also added Morrison and Nick Barnett in the middle to go with Andra Davis and Kelvin Sheppard. That is nice depth at inside backer.- Merriman is the x-factor. If he can add a pass rush this might be a decent defense. :boxing:

I like the Washington defense. I see the improvement in 2011 being great. They do lack the veterans, but 4 sascks from linebackers in a 3-4 defense? Orakpo will be phenominal as usual, and the 16th overall drafted Kerrigan will leave his mark as well. I've been watching them build this defense over the past 3 years and I think now it has finally come together. The division is kind of tough, but all of us who drafted our defense in the second to last round play based on matchups anyways. This week vs Zona looks good, then some other good ones in the first half of the season.

How come nobody is mentioning NO def vs CHI? Home opener in a loud dome vs the sieve-like offensive line and mistake prone QB?
Pretty sure NO was one of the top 10 defenses in pre-season, so they aren't really a WW defense. This thread is more about the "bad" non-rostered defenses you might pick up for a week. I have the NE defense in one league and I don't like their matchup with SD. My only problem is that I don't really like any of the WW defenses in that league as none of the available teams that have showed any potential play bad offenses. The Bills already got picked up and of the folks in the OP, you could almost do a coin flip as to which team could show up and win.
They are on waivers in my league probably because of their terrible performance against GB.

Went with HOU, doubting Henne can put together back to back good weeks.
I'm with you on this one as I'm gambling on Henne to NOT prove me wrong. Or I take CLE vs. the old man @IND...

I'm rolling with the 49ers D/ST because they are at home, have a good rush and pass defense, and the 2 returns last week scores a lot of points in my league. I don't know if it was a complete fluke by I'll give them a try.Our scoring system doesn't count against yards and only deducts a few points after the opponents score 40+ points. :football:
