Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups (1 Viewer)

I got Rainey for 1.00 in three leagues and at this point have no intention of playing him. If he breaks out great. Everybody in my leagues are throwing away their entire budget for McGahee and I just don't get it...living in the past I guess.

Some of us are desperate at RB, MJD, Lacy & Bradshaw. In first place just need a pulse at RB to go with rest of team.

Willis 36%

Rainey 7%

Snelling 11%

Someone in one of my leagues picked up McGahee, Rainey & Ogbannaya late last night after the news broke.

Dropped Eli, Legatron, and... ok, Cordarrelle Patterson.

Currently has 9 RBs on his roster, along with 1 QB (Ryan) and no Kickers.

maybe he is expecting something like a college offense the rest of the season

Is Alphonso Smith only the Cardinals RB2 behind Mendenhall on their team website depth chart due to Arians not telling the Web developers about Ellington?
No probably that way on the Cards site as well - veteran returning vs a rookie entering the year

Depth charts are very slow to change on what FF players think

The things people are doing to get McGahee are mind-blowing, unbelievable.
Why? I dont get it

The guy had 700+ yards in 10 games last year. Sure the Browns are not the Broncos but who knows. He was cut by the Broncos so they didnt have to pay him. I dont see why the guy cant go for 60-70 yards a game and get a TD every now and then. For those of us who have no RBs (through bad drafting on my part), why not spend $21 out of the 96 I had and drop B Bolden
$21 of $96 is one thing, to drop other top 30 ish WR/RB's as some reports are alledging is another.

In a perfect scenario barrying injury and being handed the majority of the the roles he wouldn't be fully up to speed until week 5 on a bad team.

I think you would be looking at 50yds/0.5 TD's per game if everything went right.

Not to mention that he has been hanging around waiting and bypassed since he left Denver.

To spend more than a 1/3 of the budget on that is more than I'd be willing to do.

Again all opinion but just my thoughts.

Best of luck to everyone regardless hope it works out and that you all do well this year.

End hijack.

What do people know about Marlon Brown. Did a search for his name and no threads on him that I can tell

I have an open spot and trying to decide between him and Rainey. I need RB help more than WR

*** (Not trying to start a Who do I pick up post for the hawks out there. Just trying to find out something about Brown)
Here ya go.

Brown >> Rainey

20%ish percent is not bad at all. It's the people spending their entire budget or dropping WR/RB 2s and 3s that's absolutely ridiculous.

The difference between something like Peyton, DT, Decker and Hoyer, Gordon, Bess (or is it still Little?) is extremely large. That offense will be getting zero respect from opposing defenses.

I assume these most of these differences are coming from larger leagues or desperate situations.

I agree, in a fairly typical 10-12 team league, I think 20% is a good baseline. A new starting RB (if you pick the right one) is certainly worth 20-30% of the FAAB.

If a team's decimated with injuries or it's a really deep league, I could understand bidding a lot more (though, in the latter, dropping a pretty good player probably isn't necessary).
