Week 3 waiver wire pickups (2 Viewers)

Ty Montgomery... looks great out there and built major trust tonight
You see him breaking into the starting lineup?
I would guess he passes davante within a month. Adams, and I'm an owner who overinvested and reached on him, is the definition of solid not spectacular. Montgomery has burst and seems like he can create separation more readily.

He's the closest thing to a playmaker after Cobb.
I like Montgomery but I don't see him passing Adams unless there is something to Adam's ankle injury. I can see Ty taking the 3rd spot from Jones though and put up solid numbers.
Too much redundancy in skill sets in davante and JJ. solid possession type guys. And at this point JJ does everything davante does better. Montgomery has some wiggle and his wheels forced Sherman into a bad 50 yard PI tonight. With the game on the line Rodgers looked his way. Maybe it's nothing but if we are speculating I saw enough in Montgomery to believe and I'm just some dope. This is an offense stuck in second gear and Montgomery could open things up I believe

Personally with the Pack I look at trust from Rodgers where it's Cobb, Lacy, Jones, Rodgers, Starks, Adams, And then finally Montgomery.

Monty is a good play if Adams is hobbled but at this point not sure he moves up that list. One drop will set him way back as Rodgers really dictates who's on the field unless there is no choice.

I call bs on Tripper.

He says he owns Adams, yet all he does is talk smack about him while singing the praises of everyone else.

In week 1, Adams led the team in targets and receiving yards.

In week 2, despite being hobbled with an ankle injury, missing time because of it, and being covered by Sherman on most of his routes, Adams caught all 5 of his targets. ...and once again, he had more catches and receiving yards than James Jones.

Tripper, I don't know if you own James Jones or Ty Montgomery or both, but please hide your motivations better next time.

That, or actually watch the games.

Dion Lewis if he somehow wasn't picked up before or after week 1.
cmon man.
he's available in my 12 team touchdown heavy league that's pretty competitive. people seem to have aversions in that league to pass catching backs and patriot backs and there was a rumor going around that lewis only got that many touches because blount was out.

but on MFL, he's only owned in 54% of leagues, so he's still available in a lot of leagues.

and i don't remember seeing lewis on many people's top 3 players to add after week one, either. it was pretty much some order of moncrief, woodhead, james jones, and chris johnson.

so yeah. i think he should be waiver wire #1.

Adams hurt is ankle, and had Sherman on him. What did you expect last night???? Ty isn't taking anyone's job soon. How well do you think Ty would have done if he had Sherman on him????? You prob weren't even watching the game last night.

I want to throw up saying this, but Ginn. 16 targets through 2 games, 95 yards and a TD. Should have had a TD last week, but dropped it.
Thinking of Ginn as well, which shows how bad the waiver crop is this week.

That said, for a team that's totally devoid of decent WRs (Funchess doesn't seem ready for prime time) and only Olsen to take away targets, you could do worse.

Did you not see Ty making plays on Sherman?Look, this is a waiver thread, not a place where Adams will be. Montgomery will be there in most leagues. He's a rookie, so instant caveat empetor.

It's only two games. And the team is 2-0. However, they don't have the explosion of years past, and Adams hasn't shown that in a year and two games.

Montgomery beat Sherman last night such that he had to come back and get Rodgers ball. He also

Drew another PI from Sherm later in the game.

If a rookie is getting calls on the all pro then maybe he's worth watching as a waiver wire guy?

Maybe he's worth considering as a weapon on a team short of them.

I'm not a Montgomery owner, I hadn't watched him play in the nfl until last night. But I'm making him a priority myself. I hope your mindset is prevalent when it comes to bidding.

This is a pretty sad week for the waiver wire. I think it comes down to need.

If you need a QB or lost Romo you're probably targeting Weeden, or maybe Dalton?

Otherwise it comes down to:

Starks - lacy hurt, but for how long

Benjamin- a great week but Manziel needs to be consistent

Crabtree- looking great. He is getting targeted a lot

Ginn- his targets have been quit impressive

Montgomery - should at least be on the radar

Not sure anyone else really worthy of selling the farm for. For me, I'll let the Lacy owner over bid for Starks. I'll go for Crabtree, as his targets are very intriguing

Ebron. He is looking legit but pay attention to Stafford's prognosis before pulling the trigger.

Brandon Weedon in start 2 QB leagues is :moneybag:
Trying to figure out how much to bid on Weeden in my 12-team/Start-2QB league. We have $100 to spend for the year (I have $99 remaining). There are NO other starting QBs on the waiver wire. I have Brees and Bortles so I could use a boost.Thinking of going with $35.

What's crazy is not a peep about Staffords injury in my daily FG email. No special email.Of all the stupid stuff they put in their daily emails apparently the starting QB who plays with one of the best WRs and one of the most intriguing young RBs in the league is not worth a mention.

I pay for news but apparently I have to get my news from my yahoo team players page

Jay Cutler had a blurb about his injury in today's email.... Jay cutler. But not stafford?

Carson Palmer in my ten team league. One idiot dropped him to the WW for Mariota last week. I'll need him now that Romo is gone for two months. Hopefully I can get Starks too since I lost Lacy, but since I have Ingram, Dion and Doug Martin I can get by with that until Lacy returns.

You're going to need to go higher than that in a 12 team start 2QB league. Someone will pony up a ton to get Weeden and use him for their QB's byes.

And with the Brees new as well, you need to go higher I'd assume.

At WR, Benjamin, Matthews and Crabtree are all interesting. Anyone care to rank them and give some reasons why?

Crabtree, 16 targets this week, Oak looks good first time in years. Carr looks like a solid QB

Hankerson might be a solid speculative add with Roddy aging
What Im wondering is what was the deal with Roddy yesterday? No catches, not sure about targets. He looked good week 1 but nothing week 2? I dont recall anything going on with him besides the elbow thing in the preaseason.

You don't pay for those emails. Everyone gets them.

1. Crabtree. Lots of targets, more like a 1b than a 2, limited TE play, weak defense.

2. Matthews. Great hands, Tannehill trusts him, limited run game, maybe weak defense.

3. Benjamin. Big play guy who will have bad games. Too few targets.

Great question but I haven't seen any reason why White had ONLY ONE TARGET

Meanwhile Hankerson had more than 25% of all the targets (Julio had 54%)

I agree with this order (assuming anyone is in a league where all three are available) I see R. Matthews available in most leagues and Benjamin in some (would be higher if I hadn't picked him up in two leagues last week - unfortunately I didn't put him in either lineup)

The real question with Benjamin is whether Manziel will hold the job - as long as he does I like Benjamin to produce but I don't think he will be worth much with McCown behind center.

Not sure how long Rishard Matthews will have value if DeVante Parker starts getting more playing time. Tannehill is unlikely to support 3 fantasy-relevant WRs.

Top non QB players so far in non ppr:

Antonio Brown

Gronk

Deangelo

Julio

Travis Benjamin

You know, just like we thought.

We were 60% right, just like most years. (And if you cross out Deangelo and pencil in Bell, whom he's starting for, we could even say 80%)...

You guys think Benjamin is for real or just a flash in the pan?

He's still a FA in one of my leagues.

Its not even just Parker, theres a lot of mouths to feed on that offense. I think Landry will stay as a high end WR2, but the rest is a crapshoot. Parker, Matthews, Cameron, Stills, Jennings, Miller, Williams. Im gonna pass on Matthews.
