Week 4 Injury Thread (1 Viewer)

Lions LT Taylor Decker re-aggravated his high ankle sprain in last night’s win. Played every snap (“was totally worth it to beat the Packers”), would not be surprised if they shut him down for CAR and/or @ TB.

Penei Sewell will swap sides; his 2 game stint there Weeks 2-3 was a step down from his usual excellence. It’s just hard changing your the footwork and hand punch you’ve been using for years. At RT it’ll be either Practice Squad OL Dan Skipper or 4th stringer Colby Sorsdal, a 5th round pick who repped primarily at G all summer.

Nothing new for Detroit to be dealing with multiple starting OL out but pay attention to the practice reports. The big guys staying healthy is critical as it’s their best position group. Sometimes when you see there offense breaking down for 2-3-4 possession stretches it’s bc they’re out of sync.

Slot CB/S Brian Branch left the game with an ankle sprain, was X-rayed, and went back in after they taped him up.

Should be fine with 10 days to recovery but with both starting S on the shelf it would be devastating if he missed time.

Didn’t he limp off again late in the game? Thought it was strange they brought him back in when up 17 points late

Because he’s one of two DBs in the NFL with a grade of 80 in both run defense and coverage? With CJGJ on IR he’s the glue.

No pressers as it’s a day off but saw two different reliable beats tweet the same info this afternoon:

Brian Branch injury doesn't appear to be anything too serious, per Dan Campbell. Branch said X-rays came back negative at Lambeau Field

They might just regurgitating postgame comments so might not be any new info until mid-week when they’re required to report injuries.

Thanks. Just saw him limping again late and thought it odd

Yeah with two backup S starting they needed someone reliable. Plus the RCB (2 Int notwithstanding) is a disaster - leads the team in missed tackles, penalties & has a sub-50 coverage grade.

He’ll be replaced by Emmanuel Moseley (whom we signed fm the 49ers) as soon as he’s 100% (ACL last season, hamstring last month.)

The DL stuffing the run + getting pressure without blitzing covers up a lot of weaknesses.

Watson sitting today with a shoulder injury and bye week next week. DTR to get his first start

J. Williams Denver RB has got a hip injury and his return is questionable per CBS broadcast

Baker Mayfield folded in half by a late hit after he was already wrapped up by another defender. Looked awkward.
