Week 5 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (4 Viewers)

Let me start ..

.5 ppr

Demercado v Ten
Pacheco @ Jac

Let the Demerado / Carter questions begin.
The Chiefs put up 37 points against a terrible defense and Pacheco mustered 10 total opportunities.

We don't really know how Demercado is going to be deployed relative to his snap & opportunity share but, I'd bet it's more than 10 and the matchup couldn't be better.

Demercado>Pacheco

PPR league, TD=6pts, 1 QB league

Matthew Stafford tonight vs 49ers
Baker Mayfield Sun vs Seattle

Baker is solidly my starter, but with all the Tampa injuries, Seattle tough defense, and he's a bit beat up....
Stafford had a great week, but 49ers aren't easy and it's thursday night but they're home.

thoughts??? thank you in advance!!

Standard scoring Non-PPR League. I need to start 2 of these at flex:

Chase Brown vs DET - Bounced back a little last week but game script may keep him lower this game if Det takes an early lead
Tee Higgins vs DET - Couldn't even get garbage time last week; I think he is on my bench until he proves otherwise
Quentin Johnston vs WAS - We are all surprised at how well he is playing; hard to keep him on the bench at this point
Deebo Samuel - Has had a decent floor all season but hasn't hit a ceiling in a game yet;

As of now, I have Johnston in my lineup and I think the decision is between Brown and Samuel.

Again and as always, thanks in advance for all the replies!
espcially if Daniels comes back I go Deebo. Agreed on Johnston.

Baker's my boy but I go with Stafford tonight.

standard scoring non-ppr 6pts all tds

Mayfield @ Seahawks
or
D.Jones vs Raiders

Lean Jones

Please rank following flex options (already starting Judkins, Chase, need 2 from the list)

McMillan vs Dolphins
K.Walker vs Bucs
Godwin @ Seahawks
BTJ vs Chiefs
Marks @ Ravens
M.Pittman vs Raiders
For matchup alone I like Jones at home over Baker, who has taken a beating, at Seattle

Jones>Baker

Personally I go with Pittman because I like the matchup and the stack. After that it's tricky but, IMO, Kenneth Walker seems like the best upside/downside combo. Tet gets a lot of targets but that's a low scoring offense. BTJ against the Chiefs? I'd like to believe, and he's your home run play but, it's hard to have much confidence even if he had a solid IRL game last week. Godwin got 10 targets last week, he isn't a bad option but, I'm also not entirely sold, particularly with Baker all banged up. Do we believe in Woody going forward? Probably, and it's a good matchup on paper. He could be the best option here but, I'm a little hesitant to chase the points.

KWIII>Godwin>Marks>BTH>McMillan

QB:
Fields vs Dallas
Daniels @LAC

I might lean to Daniels if Terry is playing. Chargers D at home doesn't give me warm vibes for a guy coming off a knee. But he's JD and a stud. Fields vs the Cowboys D must be good for at least 60 rushing yards plus.

Now that Benson is out, and Odunze/Doubs on a bye, for my flex:

Carter vs TENN....plus match-up. Should be getting 10-15 touches. I have no idea.
Brashard Smith @ JAGS.....the talk is more touches - worth a shot?
Charbs vs Tampa....I'm already starting K9 - ugh....not a great thought to start em both but they have both produced in same games before. Definitely get the rushing TD whoever it is, although not easy with Tampa
Goedert playing Denver....could get the over middle looks. Kelece is my starting TE.

Lastly, could drop Doubs and pick up Downs or Franklin off the wire. Could also drop Goedert for Fannin....

hhhmmm thanks!
It's a bit of a gut check. Personally, I would probably risk it with Fields because it's just a much better matchup and he can still run like crazy. Daniels has been great but, not this year yet and it's a rough road game.

Fields>Daniels

Second option is a total coin toss. I really have no way to parse them out. Brashard got 5 of his 8 opportunities on the last two drives with the game out of hand. I have no idea how Carter will be used.

Charbs? Why not, I guess
Goedert? At least he's getting looks around the endzone.
Downs gets about 5 looks a game and it is a neutral matchup.
Franklin also gets plenty of looks but, again, hard to trust.

I probably go
Goedert>Downs>Franklin>Charbonnet>Carter>Brashard

But, really it's just a wild @@@ guess

10 team superflex league where I can start a second QB in the flex. PPR.

* Question: Drop T. Benson?

He's out 4-6 weeks. I picked up M. Carter.

Rest of roster:

* QB: L. Jackson, (picked up B. Young to cover)
* RB: C. Brown, J. Mason, Z. Charbs, R. Harvey (B. Corum, M. Carter, S. Tucker, T. Benson)
* WR: N. Collins, G. Pickens, T. McMillan, T. Higgins, J. Jennings
* TE: G. Kittle (IRd), D. Kincaid

On the wire:

* QB: CJ Stroud, S. Darnold, M. Penix (all projected to score more than some of flexes above)
* RBs: K. Miller, T. Allgiere, R. Dowdle (Hubbard with a calf)

Oh, and this team is 1-3 and on the ropes.

Hang on to Benson?

Or ditch?

Thanks
I'd be willing to drop for Allgeier. He has stand alone value and big upside if Bijan goes down. Surprised he's available.

Byes/injuries have killed me this week (Bija, DK, Jennings). 0.5 PPR and I need a flex:
  • Slayton vs. Saints
  • Charbonnet vs. Bucs
  • I also have Fannin and Tucker but the two above seem safer.
I think Slayton is an interesting play this week in a solid matchup. Charbonnet is also a nice play but, it's a tougher matchup and, you never know when it's going to be a KWIII game.

Very close but

Slayton>Charbonnet

Kinda have no idea who to start. Need 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 FLEX. Full PPR

Currently have this in my lineup

RB Kyren vs SF
RB Hall vs DAL

WR Chase vs DET
WR Pickens @ NYJ

FLEX Judkins vs MIN

Other options are
RB Marks @ BAL
RB Etienne vs KC
RB Demercado vs TEN
WR McConkey vs WAS
WR McMillan vs MIA
I would honestly make the same choices.

A bit tempted with Marks or even Demercado but not over Judkins just yet.

please pick 2 in a .25 per carry ppr with 6 pt td and .1 pt per yard.
dobbins vs eagles
harvey vs eagles
marks vs ravens
kw3 vs bucs
charbs vs bucs
chase brown vs lions

thanks!
I'm tempted by Marks for sure but, knowing me I probably go with Dobbins and KWIII.

I still think Harvey is second fiddle to Dobbins and Charbs to KWIII. I am not 100% how Marks will be used going forward but, certainly encouraged.

Dobbinw>KWIII>Marks>Charbs>Brown>Harvey

Looking for a flex:

Non-PPR:
M Carter v Ten
Slayton @ NO
Harvey @ Phi
Tee Higgins v Det

.5 PPR
Q Johnson V Was
D Adams v SF (Thusday)
Sutton @ Phi
First choice... honestly no idea. I guess Slayton and hope for the best. Maybe Carter for the matchup but, I have no idea how he is going to be used. But, really I have no strong feelings for any of them.

Slayton>Carter>Harvey>Tee
+=========================\

Personally I am sticking with Johnston at this point. He has simply been amazing. Love your other options but, QJ is the guy for me.

QJ>Davante>Sutton

QJ and Deebo for me pretty easily. I can't see a reason to start a Bengal ATM.

FLEX Judkins vs MIN

Agree on the RB's

1. Breece. Dallas gives up the 6th most FPPG to RB's and no Allen. Davis probably sees some touches, but I think Breece eats
2. Kyren. The ENTIRE SF offense is out. I just think this is one where even if the Rams aren't good, they're running out the entire 2nd half. There's probably enough running that Kyren can get 20 touches and Corum still see enough to also be an ok flex play

WR: I think I'm benching Chase. I don't want to rely on Browning vs Detroit. I think Pickens and McMillan is the move. I can't bring myself to trust Ladd at this point. He'll burn you if you don't play him. But I'd rather that happen than play him and be burnt. Again.

Flex: I'm going ETN.

Marks has the easier matchup with a banged up/bad Baltimore defense. But KC is still top 10 in FPPG given up to RB's. Don't get me wrong, Marks is a solid play if you don't have other good options. I just think ETN has been so good so far this season.
Thanks for advice. I did just trade Etienne for Quentin Johnston though.
Anyone got thoughts on this trade? Full PPR. I did throw in Demercado too. So Etienne + Demercardo for Quentin. Gives me Chase, Pickens, QJ, Ladd, McMillan, and still have solid RB in Kyren, Hall, Judkins, Woody

I think you have to consider starting QJ over Judkins... Maybe over Ja'Marr. Not sure I'd have the stones to bench Ja'Marr but, it should definitely be on the table.

Probably
QJ>Ja'Marr>Judkins

But
QJ>Judkins>Ja'Marr

Feels...not bad.

I can’t believe I’m even asking this. Need a flex in PPR. Michael Carter (vs TEN), Tucker (vs SEA) or Ja’Marr Chase (vs DET). Thanks!

Superflex 12 team PPR league. Need to start 4 of these:

* J. Mason @CLE -- Terrible matchup and like, the entire MN offensive line is banged up. CLE D playing nails against the run. Would have to hope for a TD plunge. This may be a Z. Scott game.

* C. Brown vs DET -- Another not so great matchup and the Cinci offense has shown zero signs of life. Could get some PPR scam love playing from behind.

* R. Dowdle vs MIA -- Reported that Hubbard is out. Great matchup here. NYJs were running all over MIA last week.

* T. MaMillan vs MIA -- Matchup pretty decent as MIA gave up a ton to G. Wilson. Could be a wake up game for CAR offense. Finally.

* T. Higgins vs DET -- Actually a decent matchup. DET CBs banged up. Could be a game of catchup, but can Browning take advantage?

* S. Darnold vs TB -- Has been super efficient and TB is a pass funnel D. Probably have to throw to win.

Right now leaning: C. Brown, R. Dowdle, T. Mac, S. Darnold.

Which 4?

Thanks

0.5 PPR league.
Start 2 WR + 1 Flex.
WR on my Roster:
  • JSN
  • B. Thomas
  • T. McMillan
  • Jamo Williams
  • J. Addision
  • Devonta Smith
T. Kraft is my TE and has a bye this week so I'm in need of a one week rental TE.
Question: Is it crazy to drop Devonta for a TE such as Z. Ertz, D. Schultz, or T. Johnson who might get me 5-10 points?
Devonta can't be trusted in this Eagles offense and he's burning up a bench spot at this point.
There's no one else on my roster I want to drop plus I like my other WR options better.

I can’t believe I’m even asking this. Need a flex in PPR. Michael Carter (vs TEN), Tucker (vs SEA) or Ja’Marr Chase (vs DET). Thanks!
It is insane that your question isn't entirely insane.

Honestly, I might consider Carter because of the matchup and the reports that Demercado is going to stay in his role. People assume Demercado will take the lion's share, but it isn't at all unprecedented in a situation like this for the third down RB to remain in his role and someone else comes in to take the bulk of the work.

That being said
Chase>Carter>Tucker

It's SF, start Darnold.

It's PPR so Tet seems like a good gamble.

With Chuba likely out, Dowdle makes a ton of sense in a plus matchup.

I barely trust Ja'Marr chase ATM, I can't imagine starting Brown or Higgins (if I did I would rank them Brown>Higgins... I mean Higgins>Brown... I mean...)

Between Mason and the Bengals I'd flip a coin. I probably lean

Higgins>Mason>Brown

But, who knows?

I forgot I have to start 2 RBs. So if Rico is in it's between Mason and Brown.

That's a tough one.

JSN for sure. After that it's a little tough.

Gotta love Jamo's matchup and the Lions penchant for running up scores.

In full PPR Tet is the right call with a good matchup.

Thomas turned in a nice IRL game last week, maybe he can stack that this week? Either way, he's still an integral part of that Jags offense and, probably the most talented guy you have after JSN.

Don't like Addison or Devonta this week for various reasons.

JSN>BTJ>Jamo>Tet

You have good depth at WR even if it leads to difficult decisions. So, I guess I could see dropping Devonta but, I would at least be working the trade market before making that move.

It is a tough one. A coin toss really. I just probably lean Mason because I think the Vikings can win this week. I am not sure about Brown's workload when the Lions are up by 21 points.

PPR: Need 2 RB 1 TE

C Brown vs DET
Pollard @ ARZ
Demercado vs TEN
Dowdle vs MIA

There are others I'd drop before Devonta. JSN is a keeper and I'd hold onto Addison to see where it goes but Devonta would be 3rd on your list for me. Dropping anyone for Ertz or Shultz is not really matching value for value without the position context....I assume you have to start one TE too. Im pretty disappointed in Thomas but I'd probably drop Williams or Mcmillan for either TE for a week because you have some WR redundancy and then trying to reverse it next week if you wanted. No big deal if you cant.
