If you're looking for a D/ST to play in Week 5 due to bye weeks, under performance, or you're running a committee, discuss your options and thoughts here.
San Francisco vs. New England - The 49ers have a better defense than they showed against New Orleans, and the Patriots offense is down. I expect Cassel to get knocked around and turn the ball over a couple times. This is a potentially sneaky play, but I have reservations given that Belichick will have two full weeks to prepare for the trip west.
Carolina vs. Kansas City - KC's offense is better with Huard under center, but isn't nearly as potent as the sieve-like Denver defense made them seem. I expect the Carolina pass rush will give Huard a hard time, while the overall defensive philosophy will be to stop Larry Johnson. I could actually see the Panthers pitching a shutout at home. They're my current target.
New Orleans vs. Minnesota - New Orleans has been hot on offense and Minnesota is failing to live up to expectation on defense. If the Saints get up big, Minnesota will have a hard time catching up and may get out of their offensive comfort zone. Drew Brees is on fire and Adrian Peterson might be the only way the Vikings can keep him off the field. A dynamic offense at home has the edge over a one-dimensional Minnesota attack. Plus, the Saints pass rush appeared to wake up at San Francisco last week.
Dallas vs. Cincinnati - If Palmer's elbow really is a serious issue, Dallas' pass rush could light up Fitzpatrick all day. This one is tempting.
