Week 5 IDP surprises and potential FA pickups (1 Viewer)

I believe UnderDogger is sleepin in or something?

I will try an provide some feedback, but when lookin at stats from this past wk (nobody Im watchn shows up at the top) I do own Lofton and Chung though, but more thn half aint even rostered. I know Steve Gregory was mentioned in another post (great effort) but hes suspended 4 wks. I notice that Rob Ninkovich playin the same position as S. Phillips came up pretty big (Jene himself could have told me this guy was primed for a big game, and I prolly still miss out)

I kinda wish I could understand how Mayo gets two tackles playing the Jets but hits 14 solos against Miami up by quite a few points.

I guess if someone is following anybody commin up big, thats playin in a contract yr (it be worth posting). I dont really pay much attention to DE players but St Louis is impressing me and James Hall is impressive...

How about some FB on big plays? D. Harris or EJ off the bye (anybody jump out as due for a Big game) <-- bye wk play maybe :moneybag:

These threads are still worth doing, but their utility past the first two to three weeks of the season is greatly diminished as there are fewer opportunities to nab "surprise starters" who were not anticipated or properly projected in the preseason. Injuries and the occasional replacement of a starter with a backup will really represent the opportunities from here on out.

How about Kevin Burnett? I've seen him sitting on the wire in a few of my leagues and have been trying to snatch him up. He's been solid, but I guess he's flying a little under the radar with the Copper et al mess plus big(ger) games from Philips, etc.

Week 1: 5/1

Week 2: 5/0 FR, INT and PD

Week 3: 5/0

Week 4: 7/1, 2 sacks, FF and a PD

Does Stuckey take over with Gregory's suspension, and do we think he'll keep the role long term? That seems to be a productive situation.

William Moore has been solid, at least in statline - I haven't seen the games - with Coleman out. Is there reason to believe he seizes the job when/if Coleman returns? Or does DeCoud have more value than Moore?

What about Fred Robbins in DT required leagues?

Mario Haggan has had 4 solid weeks. Is he worth a pick up in deep leagues?

Alterraun Verner- 11 solo's and 3 pd's in his first start. I happened to pick him up and start him.

Playing Dallas and probably going up against Roy and Dez this week.

With Barnett out and fellow inside linebacker Brandon Chillar sidelined with a shoulder injury, the Packers will start A.J. Hawk and Desmond Bishop at inside linebacker at Washington Sunday. They’ll likely have to add a linebacker to the 53-man roster.

The Tennessee Titans cut linebacker Jamie Winborn today, creating a roster spot for linebacker Gerald McRath as his four-game suspension is over.

Rotowire: McRath returned to practice Wednesday and is going to be able to return for game against Dallas this Sunday.

Spin:

McRath sat out a month due to a suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy. Coach Jeff Fisher said that McRath is going to start at linebacker on Sunday.

Anyone starting him this week? I'm considering it.

I'm thinking Carlos Rogers will be a decent DB play the next few weeks. With match ups vs pass heavy teams like Green Bay, Indy and Chicago coming up he will get a lot of opportunities to make plays. Just note he has the worst set of mits in the NFL so don't expect an INT and hope your league gets points for passes defensed!

Not to mention the very generous assisted tackles stats guy for the Skins.

I like Nicholas but is he taking over?Desmond Bishop finally gets his shot.

What are people's thoughts on Cody Grimm? Does he maintain this type of tackle production in Jackson's place?

Whitner looking great again.

Hawk is as strong as Bishop, minus the sack.

Weatherspoon had a strong start, quiet in the 2nd half, is he sitting?

looks like weatherspoon got hurt again according to the nfl gameday play by play. got hurt with like 7:57 left in the 3rd or around there. Can only guess he re-injured his ankle...

Made for a nice outing for Nicholas.

i'm thinking that nicholas might stay in the line-up with the venerable mike peterson not being a playmaker. weatherspoon will go back into the starting line-up but nicholas slides over. peterson becomes a back-up maybe.

What do you guys think about the following safeties who have had good games in recent weeks?GrimmNdukweLeonhardManning
grimm is a bit of an unknown considering its only his second start. ndukwe takes over for the oft-injured williams and has a track record of productivity. leonard is a hustle guy and only so-so but does offer some extra value with return yardage. manning has been playing better of late and looks like he might be holding off wright.
