Have a team. Dynasty. Made playoffs three years and missed two since I’ve been in the league. Ten-team league. Start eight: QB RBx2, WRx3, TE, D/ST. Had a terrible dispersal draft to begin. Just dogpoop. Swimming against current for five years. But two-plus years ago, I figured I wouldn’t treat the league as my “will to idiocy” league where I indulge every whim I have, and I decide that I need to switch up my philosophy. Only shooting for crazy athletes that have profiles with wildly high ceilings (ten teams) and not being afraid to get uber studs and then worry about depth.
So I have my plan and the draft comes and I pick 1.05 out of 10. Odunze falls to me. I’m not sold on the contested catch thing. Package Jerome Ford, 3.05 (!), and Odunze for Malik Nabers. Bang! Score! It’s a start. Have a terrible year. Everybody is hurt. Last place. Summer comes and I get a trade call. Josh Allen for McCarthy, 3.04, Aiyuk, Pacheco, 2026 2nd. It’s a league where you get .10 every ten passing yards and six point passing TDs. QBs are the most important position, even though it’s close. Have the 1.01 from the poor ‘24 season. Try to deal but take Jeanty.
Have a very reasonable lineup going into ‘25 that consists of:
WR: McLaurin, Rashee Rice, Nabers, D. Mooney, J. Coker, D. Wicks, C. Austin, etc.
RB: K. Walker, T. Tracy, C. Hubbard, A. Jeanty, a few others
TE: Juwan Johnson (off the wire way before year—for giggles), David Njoku, Harold Fannin, Jr.
QB: Allen, Herbert
D/ST: Arizona, LA Rams, Jacksonville
I liked this team. We were 3-0 and third overall in points before last Sunday, but tight with 2nd place.
Now? Nabers, Mooney, McLaurin, Austin, Rice, Tracy, Chuba
They gone. And Nabers for Odunze don’t look so good on me.
